    Crash sites?

    HeliCrashes are completely random now, for example. on a server restart, one may spawn 30 minutes after the restart, then another one will spawn 1 hour after that. and so on. Sometimes, up to 5 helis can spawn, sometimes, none at all. you quite literately at the mercy of the game.

    Not much you could have done, he's the dumbass for coming from behind you, AFTER a firefight/ Dead bodies being on the ground. you panicked and KOS'ed. seems justified to me

  6. well, as the title says. we can all agree that DayZ isn't your typical RPG/Survival/FPS type of game. But i think the reason that most people complain about DayZ is because there is no "script" to guide you through the game. And no, i don't mean script kiddies, or hacking etc. i mean AI help from within the game. For example, In MoH:Warfigter, there's that mission where you have to escape on that boat during the storm or whatever, well, that mission is mega scripted to the point where, you don't really have to do anything or press anything, and you will still succeed, as the game will guide you. DayZ provides none of that. Every action you make has a reaction. If you are successful, then it's because of something you did on your own, which gives the player a sense of accomplishment, thus, they want more (ex. those in favor of the 1.7.5 patch) on the other hand, if you fail. you feel like ass. Why? because you failed on your own terms, you had no AI help, and whatever you tried to accomplish, proved to much for you, it really sinks in when you keep doing it only to fail. So, you come to the conclusion that it's too "hard" and leave it, or want to have it changed. It's basic human instinct to deny their own flaws. (those against 1.7.5) Most console games such as Farcry3, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Medal of Honor all have scripted campains, that guide you, to insure success, DayZ is like a giant campain, with the simple fact that the players sets their own parameters and missions. and it's solely up to you to carry out these tasks, and unless you have friends, no one will hear your cries for help. In DayZ, adapt or die is quite literal. I know i may be overthinking it, but i honestly think that's why people complain so much about video games, especially DayZ
  7. it's the way gaming communities are i guess, people who have a problem are automatically labeld "noob" or thins like that simply because the person implying it doesn't agree with what they have to say. for example, this thread isn't even about me having bad experiences in the game, nothing of the sort in fact, but people will assume since i have an "argument" to make, that i am complaining, and then the flame war rolls in. Again, another point why people deny flaws and refuse change i guess.

That's true, many players DO have legitimate claim and arguments against the patch, i can respect that, but when players begin saying "i shot my M14 at NWAF, Why do i have so much aggro, hurrhurrhurr" (obvious exaggeration is obvious). it gets a bit silly, you can't just play a game like this so recklessly and not expect any consequences.
  9. this is what im trying to imply, people arent willing to learn to play the game, since they don't want that. they expect things to be catered for them already. like, "oh, a military base. im bound to find a really good weapon" that mentality is what drives these people to complain, im not talking about people who complain against bugs and the like, those are completely legitimate complains. but just because a player expects something to happen in a given situation, doesnt mean it will second point, im not "guiding" people to do anything or think anything. Nor was i complaining about the game, i was simply stating why I THINK people complain (within reason) i really like the new patch infact, and sure, i fuck up all the time. too many to count, but i don't complain, because i know somewhere along the line, i screwed something up, that caused my failure, and that alone. Makes me want to play more, in hopes to better myself. Beans for you

  11. i do agree, that the way the infected act now is a bit much, i really dont think that eating a can of beans should have every zombie in town up my ass, but at the same time, shooting a 1911 and attracting a shiznit load of zombies isnt that unrealistic, have you actually heard a 1911 fire? i have, and it's FACKING LOUDD.
  12. sorry, i should have been more specific. i do not mean the bugs and whatnot in dayz, im talking about the game itself. not complaining about the bugs, but the game itself. this game is riddled with glitches and shiz that just irritates me to no end. but, because of that, i dont complain on the forums about how "hard" the game is. i understand there are glitches, No problem. i can deal. but, players who refuse to adapt to the way a game plays automatically claim the game is to "hard" when they aren't babied to there goal.

    Well, that's actually the point of this game, it's zombie-apocalyptic simulator, it's supposed to be realistic, it's supposed to be harsh. IRL i doubt you would be running through alleyways kitted with an M4-SOPMOD, ammo and NVG's now would you? sure it's a really cool idea, but it has to start somewhere. not just "well i want light, Because racecar"

    Fuse boxes for buildings

    Actually, i think there's already a mod for this. its called AEG or something like that, it basically reworks how all lighting is through out chernarus. So, at server restart all the lights through out the cities would be on, making night time, a little less "dark" i guess. Now, the power actually comes from fuse boxes on powerlines that are scattered through the city, these can be shot out, so that the power goes out in that part of the city, and can repaired with a tool box (and other items) should you want light again, now, if you shoot the main power box, the entire city loses power. its has pros and cons aswell, not just cosmetic changes Light: +Easy visibility +makes things easier to see and possibly loot - Infected see you better - can attract players Power Outage: + Stealth is easier to maintain + Infected do not see you, Unless you get to close +Players would have harder time of finding you - Visibility greatly reduced (duh) - Looting may be slower, as you have to take your time - As players can't see you, you might not see them. So, the mod i believe is there, i don't know why other server have not implmented this yet

    Someone had metioned having zombies spawn as soon as the server starts, and have them spawn everywhere, not just when a player enters that radius, I think its a great idea as stealth would be much more prevalent then it is now. And yeah, it is possible to take a silent approach as xianyu said, but he's right, zombies will spawn alerting other players that you are there, just haven't aggroed anything yet. That alone is enough reason for players to come hunt you. So to recap Sneaking: usefull, but hardly worth it seeing as players will know you are there anyways Spawn zombies ahead of time: great idea, will make sneaking much more handy. But will without a doubt be a big hit on the players framerate

    DayZ 1.7.5.1 Bug List

    I've only had one issue so far, and that's not being able to log out, even when I'm not near any zombies or players, aswell as when I'm not being attacked. Doesn't happen often, but its there. Played on an empty server today, hunting rabbits for food. But after I fired, I was not able to log out even when my combat meter turned green. Keep in mind, I was way up north, nowhere close to any zombies or potential threats.

I keep hearing mixed info about it and I'm not sure what to believe anymore, people have told me that they don't exist at all, some say that they are super mega extremely rare and that if I find one ill cry sweet tears of joy, others say one spawns every hour and so on. Well, I've flown around helis and drove around cars for hours on end on several different server and have yet to find a single thing. So now I'm assuming its bugged somehow. Anyone mind enlighting me to what's actually going on?

    I agree, but dis-agree, i love the new patch and all that it offers but, if i have to be stealthy at almost EVERYTHING i do, that playstyle is going to wear quickly. Honestly, i think the player should be able to choose how they want to play, the fact that everyone is so bent on "realism" and "stealth" is going to be SA's downfall. Again, Pushing a gamestyle just doesn't fit well when it comes to marketing.
  21. i dont know what servers you guys play on, but i tried again today and nothing, not to mention, today was my day off of work, so i spent alot of my time looking for these damn things, nice to know it was time wasted. I still haven't found a single one, i talked to the server admin a few days ago and he said he think it has something to do with DayZ.St

  23. Then you havent played 1.7.5 im assuming, they no longer spawn on restarr
  24. im pretty sure the spawns have changed, i read that any backpack over 12 slots will not spawn in residential/civilian areas anymore, anything above the 12 slots will spawn in military loot areas, such as stary tents, Hangers, ATC towers, Deer Stands and so on.
