I have only been playing DayZ for about a month--Namalsk almost exclusively. The first time I was banned, I had picked up the silenced AK variant in a barracks on the Seraja Army Base. In that instance, an admin (red text) said I had five minutes to drop the hacked weapon. So I dropped the weapon, and repeated messages for me to drop it continued. I was banned from that server. Second instance which happened just now, I had found two L85 ACOGs at helicopter crashes earlier today. I put one in my military offroad and kept the other on my person. So was driving around a few minutes ago, when an admin logs in and sends me repeated questions "Where did you get the gun?" "Where did you get the hacked guns?" I tried to respond over and over on side chat, but the admin acted like he could not see my responses. So he gave me thirty seconds to answer or be banned. I got angry and logged off his server. I had sixty to eighty or more hours played on that server. I was extremely well established, Now all of that time is wasted. I do not get it. All I did was pick up weapons I found in the game world, and now I have been twice banned. Are there certain weapons one just should not pick up?

Thanks for the response. I tend to stick to one or two servers, so this situation is not cool, but I guess I will drive on and start over.

I don't know, but this has happened twice. So I guess I will be very cautious for now on picking up rare weapons?

I have been hooked on Namalsk for about a month now. The map along with EVRs and Bloodsuckers is a great challenge, and really inspires a feeling of isolation and dread. Recently I found a variant of the PKM for which I was unable to locate a DayZ wiki description. Is this weapon, the PKP with scope, a rare find or something many of you have come upon?

My favourite pair of Namalsk weapons so far are the G-36SD and the L85. I have yet to try out the PKP--it's been resting somewhat safely in my tent on the side of a mountain. I was just wondering at it's rarity and effectiveness. I found it at a helicopter crash site, and killed three Bloodsuckers in the process of obtaining it. The day I found it, I had been the only player on the server for many hours, and all the crash sites were spawning PKMs or FN FALs. SInce then, I've have been finding rare weapons left and right but cannot find a second tent. Oh well.

I am currently playing War Z and was wondering how Day Z compares, and if in general Day Z is worth the purchase of Arma II combined ops? From videos I've watched, Day Z seems to have a much larger game world, and much more realistic weapons/survival simulation. Are the Day Z servers fairly stable? Is hacking a major problem? How easy, difficult is it to get established in game versus the likelihood of immediate PvP death to better equipped players? In War Z the possibility of PvP death is quite high at the moment, unless one knows where and when to venture, and server hopping for position and loot is rampant. Just wondering how the two games compare, in the eyes of gamers themselves--I've watched a few videos comparing the two, but did not take much away from them, at least not enough to make a final decision. Nice. I think I am going to give it a go.

Essentially that's what I am looking for--more of a survival horror element, i.e. dying more often from zombies and the environment. I enjoy PvP, but I am looking for more of a balance between the two.
