  1. There is one main problem with DayZ, that nor do the developers or experienced players see, and that's optimization with different computer specs. DayZ right now has intensely bad problems with it's optimization, not only do you need to waste tons of money on a system to play it, even when you do, you get low fps, lag, which is why the servers have to be shut down every couple of minutes or hours. If you ask any AVERAGE or beginning PC gamer: "Have you ever played DayZ before?" Most of them believe it or not will answer with a no, and why: "My computer can't play it" or "I get too much lag" And THAT is what's keeping many potential gamers from playing DayZ. The developers are hard at work with the standalone for our enjoyment, and I, like many people, appreciate that, but they NEED to do something about optimizing the game for different computer spec ranges. This is why consoles are so preminent over PC gaming, because of ease of access to the average consumer. I am hoping to see the new standalone DayZ to be a great break through in the world of gaming. -Desert

Why does Dayz run so badly on my computer?

My laptop runs incredibly cool and quiet, even when struggling with a game. I don't exactly know why it runs so bad, maybe it's the RAM?

"Bad version, server rejected connection" Help?

This happens a lot when you try running it through Steam in Operation Arrowhead. Install DayzCommander, it's quicker, easier, and I haven't had any problems so far, it's basically a launcher with servers. And you don't have to install dayz again, it detects it on your computer, it also detects updates.

Why does Dayz run so badly on my computer?

But it's an i7 QUAD CORE, it IS a very powerful processor, and from what CanYouRunIt.com told me, I should be able to run it at the highest graphics at about 60 fps.

Why does Dayz run so badly on my computer?

It's weird, I can run other games like Black ops that are MUCH more graphics intensive in around high settings at 60 fps. Yet Dayz lags on me. Who knows, it might be a problem with the way my quad core processor is configured. I really have no idea why it runs so badly.
  10. I have a fairly decent laptop, Nvidia 610m 2gb, Intel i7 Quad core, and 4 gigs of RAM, but I can barely run DayZ on my computer at a good framerate. In order for me to get higher than 20 fps I need to put it at low, which makes the game look really bad, and even then it still lags. I have tried all the tricks in the book to increase my fps, but no luck, Any help I can get? Thanks

    Bad FPS issues

A couple of days ago I bought an "good" laptop for gaming, it isn't amazing (it isn't a gaming laptop) but it's acceptable for most games. I literally bought it right after seeing DayZ gameplay and thinking it was an awesome game, which is part of the reason I bought the computer in first place. The specs are: Intel core i7 4 gigs of RAM Nvidia Geforce 610m 2gb Those aren't killer specs, but from what I've heard enough to run DayZ and Arma 2. And from what System Requirements lab has told me, enough to run it at the highest setting (although I've heard it's quite off sometimes) When I first played Arma 2 and Dayz I was getting an FPS of literally 8 at the highest graphical setting, so I tried lowering it down, and the only respectable FPS I got at a setting was 28-32 FPS in low settings. I don't exactly know why this happens, it seems to be worse in Arma 2 then it is in DayZ, it's kind of sad that I had saved up all the money on a new comp and I can't play the game I wanted to play. I've seen gameplay videos with perfect FPS and I was very impressed by the game's graphics and overall idea. Is there any fix to this? Thank you!
