    I want it to play like a Zombie Survival game and not what it is at the moment. I've read a few comments by rocket that seems to indicate that he indeed intends it to be primarily PvP with some zombies on the side. Well, if that's the case then it's horribly mislabeled. It should just be called "Survive" and zombies should be removed. In which case I see no reason to play it.

    When does school startup again? Seriously, if you want a PvP only game with no carebears to worry about, you can pick from a whole slew of ARMA 2 servers running PvP campaigns.
  5. And this is a problem because... I can't, but it seems there is a large portion of the player base that can. Count the number of threads about "what do I do now?" "we need end-game content" etc. etc. Not butt-hurt. Have only been killed by another player once. Have never killed another player. I don't want PvP'ers to stop playing and I don't want PvP removed from the game. What I want is people to use PvP as a tool in the context of the game and not as an outlet for their own boredom and lack of imagination.
  6. A normal person, realizing they have exhausted the games content, would just stop playing the game. Instead, the ADD afflicted among us decide it's time to start killing other players. Not as a way to increase their survivability but simply as a means to kill time because they're "bored". Do us all a favor and quit playing until more content is added. And when you've exhausted that, quit again.

  8. There will never be a complete fix because there's always the power button. So yeah, rocket can implement some punishment for disconnecting, but then people will just claim they had a power outage and were unfairly punished. Want to stop DC'ers? Stop the shoot on sight mentality - that's what started it and that's the only thing that will ease it. Personally, I say deal with it. If someone chooses to "quit" the game and deprive you of your phat loot, tough shit. What goes around comes around. Being deprived of what makes the game fun for you (PvP) is no different than non-PvP'ers being deprived of what makes the game fun for them.

    If it wasn't MEANT to be a PvE game then there would be no zombies! PvP should remain part of the game, but it should be structured so that PvE elements (surviving, killing zombies) is the core of the gameplay. As it stands now, the zombies could be removed from the game completely and have ZERO impact for a large portion of the player base. Not what rocket intended I'm sure.
  10. I have a feeling that both sniper rifles and ghillie suits will be gone from the final version. If rocket really wants to stop this from becoming an FFA DM game he's going to have to remove those aspects of the game that make PvP too easy and inconsequential. I'd say sniper rifles and ghillie suits are some of those things.

    AI walking through walls is part of the ARMA engine. Has been for quite some time. I wouldn't expect this to be fixed (though I would be glad if they did.)

    Ha!. I never said I DC (I don't.) I said I approve of it as a tactic to fight back against the gankers. Just so you know, I don't DC because I don't put myself in situations to be ganked. At the same time, I can appreciate all the complaints about it because it would piss me off too. I's going to be hilarious to see all the pk'ers whine when some form of punishment is enabled for asshat banditry.

    Until the bandit issue is sorted out, I consider it justifiable. It's even sweeter because it pee's off the gankers.

  17. Well, you could STOP PLAYING until there are more things to do. Sticking around being "bored" and turning that into to a reason to PK for no other reason is a waste of your time and other players. Just leave and come back when you're not bored with the content. K. thanks.
  18. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. - Ghandi The human race did not survive and form societies by killing everyone in sight. The survivors were those that chose to work together - realizing safety and strength in numbers - to defeat those that chose to kill everyone in sight. FACT. History proves the bandits wrong. They too survive, but only in smaller numbers and still not tolerated by the rest of society. Just as we put murderers in prison for life and/or enact capital punishment - thereby removing them from society. Upon death, in game bandits should either permanently lose the ability to play the game or at the very least be forced to wait weeks to be able to log back in. Now THAT would change the dynamic of this game eh?

    dayz is losing its meaning

    For one, the game isn't even finished yet. And second, the whole "experiment in human nature" angle is/was bullshit. A game with ZERO real-world consequence is not a reflection of human nature. This game is nothing but a reflection of how many prepubescent, emotionally stunted assholes there are in the world. Something which we've all known from pretty much every single multiplayer FPS out there. I've been playing it for about a month or so and I've only been shot by another player once. Mostly because I play it to survive against zombies and only connect to low population servers. If you want to experience the game as a zombie survival game, you're going to have to do the same. Jumping on high player count servers and visiting all the PK hotspots only guarantees you're going to run into the type of people that are powerless in real life so they turn to video games to act out their latent aggressive tendencies against other players. Then they can power down their machines when done without having suffered any sort of consequence. Exactly what aspect of human nature is supposed to be represented here?
  20. Personally, I think Rocket should make a version with everything BUT zombies. This way the pk'ers can all get on there and have fun killing themselves while the rest of us play the game trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. You know, like what the game is supposed to be about.
