This game could print money and cure cancer. People would complain about how how difficult it is to go to the steam store, click on buy, fill out info, then complain about having to download the game and how long it takes to to download. -

Can you carry two rifles right now? I thought you could only shoulder one rifle, one melee? -
It was a common theme in the mod that if you died from a sniper one shot kill, you didn't hear the bullet just fell over dead. Bullet travels faster than sound or something blah blah blah.

We need more attachment to our characters for this to really sink in to be honest. Longer respawns isn't going to change how most people play the game. -
I don't see how you guys think a 5 minute log in delay is going to solve ghosting. Even in a normal engagement people can wait upwards of 15 minutes for someone to make a move.

What have you seen that says it's going to be fixed? There is going to be a log out timer for your player to chill in game for 20-30 seconds, but that isn't going to stop most people from ghosting like this. Just means they get to cover first and it takes an extra 30 seconds. Most people hang around an area a lot longer than that so plenty of time to ghost flank.

This has been an issue since day one of the dayz mod. Thus the woes of a server hive. Looking forward to private hives :P

For the most part if I am armed and I run into another player and he shoots me on sight, I can't really blame him considering I am a threat and typically it's better safe than sorry. it's the ones that pretend to be friendly then punch you in the back of the head that bother me :P I try to announce myself when I enter a high traffic area and if nobody responds I assume you are hostile. So far I've run into 20+ people and only two were obviously hostile. Rest managed to meet, greet, trade, and go on our way without committing aggressive actions against each other.

The game is the grind. The procuring of loots, starting over, then doing it again...Unless you are all about the pvp then it's just a means to an end. Really both playstyles work it's all in the person.

Large majority of the players I run into are friendly, or at least don't commit an aggressive action against me before we split ways. Want to help fight (bad pun is bad) KoS? Don't shoot people on sight. Having said that we need bandits as much as we need players in general or you lose that adrenaline feel when you think someone is close.

Being a hero is hard, or everyone would be one. Usually means self sacrafice of some kind or another. Killing on sight is easy mode so I choose to be helpful and only fire unless threatened etc. You are going to die a lot playing this way that goes without saying. Personally I wouldn't run with random people I don't know for the reason stated above, but I will help them, heal, trade etc. Edit - Oh god grammer. Also I've run into over 20 people now and only the first three were hostile. Helps if you don't point your gun at people too.

I don't know enough about shotguns to add anything constructive to this thread so I will provide a bump and beans because I like shotguns too.

Five bucks says you go to low pop servers. Try finding supplies on a high or even medium pop server. It will be a bit harder but not impossible. Yeah it's an alpha go play something else till they add more if you are bored.

Im enjoying the alpha immensely and like being part of the process involved with making this game better. The community isn't nearly as bad as most people think, people choose to focus on the loud minority. -

If you pay closer attention to the threads on this forum the whiners and complainers are few but loud. Most responses in said threads are basically telling the OP how stupid he is. Most of the people I meet in game are pretty nice, even the ones that hold me up and force feed me disinfectant...wait.... -
Most dayz players are equal opportunity haters and would have shot you regardless of what you had said, or even before you said anything.
