If I even had a gun that broke in 100-200 shots, I would even be mad. I'd be amazed that they ever made a gun like that.

There's a reason when you get a puncture wound you're told to leave it in before a doctor can look at it. Sometimes the thing in your body is the only thing keeping you alive. If the bullet is pressed up against an artery, you're more likely to kill yourself by trying to remove the bullet and bursting the artery, which you have absolutely no way of patching up unless you're a trained doctor. They left bullets in people during the civil war, which was even filthier than the apocalypse, because it didn't even occur to people that filthy conditions were bad for your health. Or we could make it realistic where trying to remove the bullet gets you killed. That'd be much more interesting. I'd love to see howmany people die because they tried applying movie logic to Dayz.

A good non PvP server out there?

How come when someone makes a suggestion to change the game to make it so there's less PvP, people politely respond that it wouldn't be a good idea. But when a guy wants a non-PvP server of his own accord, not trying to force it on anyone, everyone tells him to go suck a dick? -

Nope. While I personally like the idea, I think Rocket has statedhe doesn't want ANY NPC interaction in Dayz. -
He is making a sarcastic suggestion in response to the throngs of people making suggestions to punish or otherwise limit PvP actions because theydon't like the idea of PvP

I just started playing, and I already had a great experience. I was in Cherno looting a hotel room up multiple flights of stairs. While looting, I hear a player coming up the stairs. So I hide in a corner by the door. The player walks in with a crossbow and doesn't notice me. Under the assumption that he's hunting me down, I run up behind him and swing my axe at him. I hit him, and he turns around and shoots me with his crossbow. While bleeding, I proceed to chase him in circles around the apartment, screaming for him to die. He runs out the door and down the stairs, and I stop chasing and bandage myself up. At this point, I remember that I just picked up a Makarov (I am an idiot, by the way). I stand by the doorway waiting for him to come in. He was smug in his victory, knowing he had a crossbow and I had a hatchet. I was smug in my victory knowing I had a gun. So he comes back in to finish me off. I unload my makarov at him. He drops to the ground. I stand over his body to gloat. Turns out he's still alive and plants his hatchet right in my shins. Then we both died. I couldn't even be mad it was so ridiculous.

Food and drink should be more rare

If you made food and drink spawns rarer, starting out would be too infuriating. With drinks alone, I would die on 1/10th of all my spawns simply because there wouldn't be any drinks in range for me to pick up before dying of dehydration. -
All right, I just had my first night experience. Guys, I hate to ruin your difficulty-realism boner, but night isn't actually that dark. You really need to tone down how dark it is, and make the night sky color not PITCH BLACK. In real life, the moon will give you a decent amount of light, even when not full. And secondly, in real life, you can EASILY see the silhouettes of buildings and tall objects against the night sky because the buildings are black, while the night sky is a brighter shade of dark blue.

The AI is just copy pasted from ARMA 2. The AI weren't designed for melee attacks, they were made to shoot you. The zombies have pathing AI that assumes they have firearms, so they try to "flank" you.

Yes, it matters. There is a problem with the game that should be fixed. Just because people have found a stop-gap solution doesn't mean a problem should be ignored.

Feedback on status of infectious diseases in DayZ

The main thing I ask is that you don't eschew the user interface on principle of this being a simulator. While I would love to have as little of an interface as possible, I feel that sometimes it is necessary. Such as for the sicknesses. A lot of sicknesses have pretty identical symptoms on paper, but there are actual differences in diagnosis based on descriptions of pain. A patient might describe a "burning" pain as opposed to a "sharp" pain, and get a completely different diagnosis. There should probably be a menu option to see "how you feel" and be given a description of how you feel about your body. After all, it's a video game, we can't ACTUALLY feel it. In real life, we would easily know when we're thirsty. The game shouldn't be made harder because it's NOT real life. -
I thought I had done it right, but everytime I start up operation arrowhead, it says I'm missing a ton of files. And When I try and join a server, it says I'm missing the map for cheranus itself. If I HAVE to launch in combined operations,can someone explain why steam won't let me? Otherwise I have no idea what the problem is.
