  1. It's something that has been in the back of my head for some time. Has Rocket specified any launch preparations? If we assume that when standalone comes out there will be a million people wanting to play on day/hour/minute one, will there be enough servers? If we have 200 people per server, even if we reduce the launch numbers to 500 000, it's going to be log-in mess as with most popular MMO launches... Will the hive (or the equivalent) be able to handle these numbers? Will there be just "official" servers, or will there some time for other server owners to get ready before the launch? I am sure Rocket and BI have a plan for this, but I'd feel better with some confirmation.
  2. I've had this idea regarding infection of players by zombies, tell me what you think! If a player has been hit/bitten by a zombie at any point, he will become "infected" If the infected player's health goes below 50% (or any other amount, just a suggestion) and someone else is standing next to him (giving him something or taking somehing from him, or just standing or walking), the game will take over of both of the character(something like the unconscious mechanic, but activated for both players) and the infected player will bite/killhurt/infect, whatever the player that was standing next to him. This chance to go "berserk" would increase by the amount of health you have lost and you'd stay infected even with 100% health. The only way to remove the actual infection would be for example massive dose of antibiotics (4 or 5 packs) What do you think? I mostly tried to design it around the capabilities of the engine, as this approach would not require any zombie-player AI or anything like that. If you have a different idea, please share!
