I've been think along similar lines, sort of. I think the CZ550 should stay, and I also think that the sniping model for ACE should be introduced, where you have to factor wind as well as distance. If sniping was made harder, people would find it more risky. Of course the disconnection thing needs addressing. I find too many snipers take a few shots at you then just disconnect when it goes tits up.

you didnt spend any money on this game, you bought arma 2 to run a free mod. the hacking happened in a free mod. you will not get refunded for the perfectly valid game you bought which is not currently in alpha. i'm sorry you got very unlucky and was killed by griefing hackers, but grow up and realise that dayz owes you absolutely nothing, stop complaining about your imaginery purchase.

I used to play CoH, and from time to time the community would call for a ladder wipe, to set the game back to the beginning so everyone would have the fun of building up their stats again and racing for the top level. I think it may be time to wipe game again, so everyone spawns on the coast with nothing, and all the tents and gear is gone. I also think it would be a great idea if a tent/vehicle saved by you disappears the second you die, and goes back to its spawn location broken. It kills perma death if I can stash a vehicle with some good loot somewhere, then when I die dash over to it and get fully kitted out again. I suspect this is the reason many are bored.

I kill now where I didn't kill before. This is a combination of: 1. Previously I didn't want to be a bandit and get killed on sight be the vast majority of players 2. I got the bandit skin a few times by just defending myself against poor shot survivors 3. They removed the bandit skin. 4. I got shot a few times by supposed 'friendlies' who then laughed and taunted over direct comms about their deception 5. I found some good gear which made me more of a target than having a bandit skin 6. I got a little bored and found killing other people was actually a whole lot of fun. -
Hey guys, found a chopper which was flyable today, landed it and want to save it, but I can't seem to bring up the save vehicle dialogue. How do you save a chopper?

interseting story. FR23 near Gorka and the service station. flew it very far north east, off the map. landed and about a minute later (while searching the gear and for the save button, a sniper opened fire on me. Nobody would have been out there, I figured I mutsve stole from a hacker who teleported after me. Only 15 people on the server, I'd have to be the unluckiest guy in the world to land it straight on a sniper out of bounds. possible tho i guess.

last i heard dayz ported to arma 3 was being suggested, coming out before amra 3. if it is standalone you dont need arma 3 finishing, just the engine. -

kind of agree with much of what the OP says. keys for vehicles is a no no though. I'd like to see less scoped rifles and more aging soviet weaponry please. CZ550 should be only sniper ingame. much of the serious military gear should go. -

I agree zeds are too easy and combined with not much to do once you have good stuff = find a kill players. This is good fun, but it would also be cool to have rewards for helping others.... if only I could think of anything. Rocket? -

Feedback after 2 hours of play: Me and my mate both having graphical glitches looking into stary. I've had these glitches before, but randomly. For us both to have the same glitch I think is strange, and with all the reports on the site I think there may be an issue, I'm gonna guess with the beta. There also seems to be a problem with loot. I hit a lot of deer stands and they all had mostly emtpy cans, or didn't spawn anything at all. Loot seemed to be down generally. Stealth change or problem? Other than that it seemed to all play very well. Winnie and Makarov seemed to aggro zed very easily, this combined with what seemed like a very short respawn timer meant we were often trapped shooting many zeds in small villages. I don't mind the aggro of zeds with gunfire, feels a little more realistic, but the respawn timer needs to be increased massively to compensate.

hmmm, I'd be interested to see what the damage model actually is. I've been thinking for a while that the modelling of weapons feels a little basic. seems we have some strange damage levels. damage should change with distance, but I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere. Shotgun pellets at close range should have huge damage, but it seems lee enfield damage is higher. this should only be the case at longer ranges. every weapon should have its advantages and disadvantages, i hope this changes somewhat in arma 3. -
I think the deer stand thing was great when the mod started, occassionalyy stumbling over a deer stand in the wilds with military loot was like christmas. I'd guess that these dayz :) most players ref a loot map, and/or have memorised where many deer stands are. So, make deer stands dynamic, like helecopter crash sites (perfect solution for stand alone game) or if this isn't possible, tone down the loot from them and add some other random location with military loot, similar to the downed chopper. Or increase the number of downed chopper sites slightly, and make the loot spawned there more random? At the moment I can go from deer stand to deer stand relatively unmolested and get tonnes of risk free gear. Thoughts?

we are humans. we naturally produce blood we lose, at the cost of buring food quicker (cookies and sugary drinks after giving blood?) This is what should happen in game, blood should regen, but food/water goes down quicker then if you are not regening blood. Different foods make you fuller for longer/shorter, but none magically give you health, If I get injured, how does eating a cow heal me? How can I even eat a cow in one sitting? I hope this get revisited and made more intuitive.

its happened a couple of times to me, probably most people here. very often the most fun part for me has been the start. i quite enjoy stumbling around at night with a road flare and a makarov around the coast, can be quite exhilirating. sometimes better than taking so much care and attention as you do when you have been alive a while. -
Not a zed pun.... I just killed a guy at Balota on the tower, went down and looted the body. On the stairs in the way down, I hear pistol fire, so stop and wait to see if the guy runs into the tower. I'm on the stairs leaning over to the left to give as little to shoot as possible. Then I get a broken leg and go down to 4000 health. Roughly 5 seconds later, this time not leaning, I am dead. I hear no shooting, and indeed the second time I am hidden around the stairwell. So, is there a supersonic sniper rifle where you hear no bullets? Is there some hack that doles out huge damage and breaks legs? I'm just curious to find out what happened, knowledge is power and all that.

I killed a guy in a deer stand the other day, then found he had no weapon. felt guilty for a bit, but I didn't know so meh.... -
More background. I am motionless on the stairwell leaning over to the left. No movement = no broken leg and 8000 health loss from anything other than a weapon (or hack). I had been upstairs, nobody was above me or below me in the building. I would hear the ladded up the side of the building for sure. Possibly a crossbow, but would have been some awesome shooting, and then how did I get killed when I was hidden on the stairs from the door. I guess we'll never know. Just really curious about whether I would hear a shot from a supersonic sniper rifle.
