didnt read the whole thread so im sure this was said, but it is too easy to survive at the moment, hence the boredom pvp. i'm sure this will change with standalone eventually. -

These are already better than the indoor areas currently in Chernarus, and a million times better than picking up loot from doorways for sure. Keep up the good work. Really nice to see some of the good stuff going on in house! Will we get some zeds indoors? I really hope running into a house won't always be the safest option when you agro some zeds... -
I have to agree, lose both. Neither bring anything to the game other than a huge huge advantage. I like night time, but with this equipment, it isn't really night anymore. And when I don't have NVGs I'm clever enough to avoid night.

My dream is that every weapon has a role in dayz (above the more common householdy type weapons) and the sub machineguns really don't. The reason for this is probably the current metagame. All the high end loot is at the NW airfield, and in tents/players. I think we need to make the larger cities into more of a no go area (due to zeds) but have some great stuff there too. Risk and reward. In addition, if we ever get underground bases going, they will be awesome assault weapons for these claustrophobic arenas. With more urban fighting locations, sub machineguns really do shine. -
I'll not play warz until I have read some seriously positive reviews. You know what, I fail to see how a game that is War Inc (seemingly an average score of 6.0 in most major review sites) will be given anymore than 6.0 again. It is the same game rushed out to a bunch of kids who can't wait three months for the standalone of dayz. If you fall this kind of opportunism you deserve to be parted from your cash. Of course if it is reviewed with 8.0's, I will give it a try too. Let the gaming media waste their money and tell us how good it is.

blood should auto regenerate if you are: well fed hydrated warm not sick eating an entire cow to immediatly recover from a bullet hole is a bit stupid. if you nearly die it should take time to recover. make you think twice about deathmatching in elektro.

you miss the point a little. perhaps if the zeds were more terrifying and dangerous, people may see the need to start helping each other. if you couldn't realistically get into cherno on your own (without a mate to epipen you when knocked out) then people stop shooting on sight and start buddying up with a stranger (who they then shoot when they part having looted). -
I hope that in the standalone all the arma 2 help features are removed. This will include such things as name tags and range on the more noob servers. My biggest gripe is actually something I loved when I discovered it. Map markers really helped me stop getting lost all the the time, the problem is they are just to easy to use to navigate. Place a marker of the SE tip of the NW airfield and make a straight line to the first barracks. This essentially means that once you have a map you no longer need a compass or a GPS. Most servers have way points enabled. Before i discovered this feature I used to get lost, ALOT. While this was frustrating, it added to the overall feeling of the apoloypse, and made me have to work to navigate. Now I just click the map and follow the strange floating green icon. It just feels like cheating, and makes the map feel much much smaller.

So much hacked in gear the game has lost all meaning. Nothing to do but kill other players. Zeds still nothing more than a nuisance or an early warning beacon to go and kill other players. Everything stopped for the standalone. -
Here me out, there is still a bit of a death match mentality at the coast. People intent on griefing go there to kill fresh spawns. It has led to some funny videos (the guy that followed the 14 year old for 30 minutes with an axe in the robot chicken montage) but it also leads to a strange kind of unnatural 'area' that really shouldn't exist. So why not spawn ANYWHERE. Totally random. With the caveat that you don't spawn where other players are. Should you be able to spawn near zeds? This might lead to some interesting 'narrative' being created. Waking up at home surrounded by the infected etc. I also think it would add to the disorientation after death. Your first job is to work out exactly where the hell you are. On that note, can we remove the text which actually tells you where you have spawned? So no more 'noob coast area', greater disorientation after death, a new mini-phase of working out where the fuck you are, win win win?

I like the concept and support it, but you are fighting a losing battle. I also whole heartedly agree that with so much high end stuff in the game, you are never more than one hour from being fully kitted out. You don't even have to kill anyone to do it, so many fully loaded bodies and tents not even hidden. Agree a hive wipe wont work either until scripts are stopped in standalone. Probably the whole reason everyone stopped playing, with so much stuff there is no point. -
This is precisely my point - it shoul not be like this. There should be some really awesome loot in the southern cities, not just up at the NW airfield. You shouldn't level up while travelling north. That said, at the moment the xeds are too easy and should should be really ramped up, especially in cities. If anything the south should be very dangerous just because it is very built up.

Someone got knocked out playing by themselves and lost all their stuff - why should this be removed? You can't just say cos it ruins your day. and as everyone above said, you should probably be able to get knocked unconscience at full blood really. If this was implemented you would have to play in groups more and, you know, not kill everyone you met straight away. -

I like spawning at kamenka, one of the easiest ways to start. There are about 5 easy to reach deer stands and hardly any survivors. -

hmmm, I don't think anyone thinks they shouldn't have been arrested. I think what everyone thinks of as a bit of a joke is the fact that blatantly these guys are not spys.... any baffoon can see this with a 5 minute search of the internet, to find out that these are two developers from a software house who have made a map of the island for an army game. people are outraged that two very obviously innocent guys can be held for so long while the wheels of justice grind ridiculously slowly towards the inevitable acquittal. i hope that these two guys get some kind of compensation. and all I can say as someone who has visited greece as a tourist before, is I will never go back there for sure. I hope the greeks authorities realise the PR nightmare is only going to further worsen the poor greek tourism trade. which I believe is very important industry for them. shame for everyone. -
Funny, but with all the hacked equipment, and the move of the game away from built up areas to bandit camps in the woods, that people playing dayz are now just actually playing pure arma 2 and loving it....
