    Hide tents offline

I wish. Imho all the hoarding and preparing for the next life after you die is destroying damaging DayZ already. Check the link in my signature for a possible solution to this (or click here: http://dayzmod.com/f...9452-solo-hive/)

    Bayonet

Which button would you have to press to use the bayonet?

    Solo Hive

For the standalone I want a quick play button which makes me connect to a random server. All connected servers should only be accessible via said quick play button, meaning it would be impossible to arrange a meeting with your friends/clan on a server of that hive. The purpose is to create a server population in which everybody is equal, everyone's a stranger washed up on shore trying to survive. No cliques who are hoarding high end weapons and equipment, who communicate over a distance of miles magically without a radio, who don't engage in in-game communication because they use 3rd party tools and keep to themselves. For whom death is just a minor inconvenience because they have to run all the way back to their stash, instead of really starting from zero. As a result you might meet less bambies on classic servers because they'd be more likely to choose quick play, but you'd still be able to team up with your friends if you want. You'd probably prefer to play on the solo hive as well when none of them are online. (As an addition to this idea, what do you think about a name generator? Once you spawn on the coast you are given a name that you keep until you die. If everyone on the server is anonymous anyway, there's no need for your self-chosen name. The name you're given could indicate where you're from (which language you speak) if you get assigned a classic english, russian, or italian name.) Edit: Changed the title

    Gutters filling water bottles.

Sounds like a first world problem to me. Imho the water should be fine every time .

    Randomly Generated Maps

Wouldn't it be possible to bring a bit of randomness into the current maps? Leave the towns and airfields the way they are, but randomly assign the deer stands to designated areas, and small settlements along roads.
  6. anecdotes? Sending players on little treasure hunts might give them a goal and keep them from sniping for a while. Love the idea. Stalker shows how this can work. I think it would fit perfectly into Dayz. It would be so much more satisfying to find a valuable item if you were actually looking for it, not just randomly stumble upon it.

    Body armor.

I don't think so. They add nothing of value to Dayz. PvP is fine, but you should have a reason for murder other than lust to kill. Those people just take away from the gaming experience.

    VEHICLES

I would like to see the current auto parts replaced by smaller parts that actually fit into a backpack.

What to do when it's raining

^This is the main reason. If you think it's not authentic/realistic that a poncho would slow you down, i don't understand you. I'm positive it would. You shouldn't be restricted to walking, but maybe to crouch jogging (the x-button speed). Running at full speed with a poncho? I don't think so.
  11. How about instead of the death screen we see now when a zombie killed us, we just lose control over the player. The game would still be over, but instead of respawning instantly you could choose to stay for a while and observe your body walk the earth as a zombie. Once you get bored and want to respawn or quit, your body will be attacked and killed by the surrounding zombies. Or just drop dead in case there aren't any zombies around anymore and it needs to die for performance issues. Unless your former buddies killed you first because you tried to attack them. Death in Dayz puts me into a disturbed and contemplative mood, and I assume turning into a zombie might add to these emotions. (sorry if my suggestion causes the same performance issues you already adressed)

What to do when it's raining

I already feel uncomfortable when I'm out in the rain in Dayz, even though I know it doesn't really affect me in any way. Once we have diseases in Dayz, rain should change the game drastically. I have two suggestions concerning rain, and I would like to hear what you think about them. 1) Rain Ponchos Everybody should have one from the start. You spawn on the coast and it's raining, you put on your poncho. I guess we could get a nice animation for putting in on and off. It's a civilian poncho, probably yellow, perhaps with a reflective surface. It'll make you easy to spot, even at night. You'll be happy to eventually find a blue poncho, let alone an olive one. Ponchos will make you less agile. They will slow you down to the point that you can no longer outrun zombies. If you don't want to risk having to fight a zombie, you either stay in the wilderness or hide inside a building. (The downsides, conspicuity and drop in agility, serve as incentives to take off the poncho when the rain stops, and should give you that feeling of relief which you experience IRL when the sun finally comes out again.) If we choose to wait inside until the rain has stopped, we need something to do for that period of time. Here's my second suggestion: 2) Amateur-Radio. Everybody has a radio in their backpack, but it's pretty useless, because in order to use it you need to put away your gun first. Even if you were willing to do so, most people wouldn't, so probably there would be nobody listening. But once it's started to rain and people are sitting safely inside with nothing else to do, they might want to use their radio and kill some time chatting with other survivors. Share their stories, information, and disinformation. you can use the opportunity to call for help if you need it. The radio should have that amateur-radio feel to it. Switching through frequencies hoping to find another soul. (not the side chat spam feel we have now) Listen closely to the sound of rain hitting on a plastic poncho, so you won't be surprised by a bandit while you're using the radio. That's all I can think of for now. Maybe those who aren't hiding alone want a deck of cards to kill some time? Feel free to post constructive criticism or add your ideas on how rain should influence the gameplay.

(whispered) shouting to reveal your position/presence

If you press the communication button when you're leg is broken, it's supposed to say: "Hello, can anyone hear me? I need help, my leg is broken!" with no further input by you. Push the button and reveal your condition to your surroundings automatically. (I have to translate my german thoughts into english language, sorry if it's hard to understand) I don't want any options to choose from, just talk or don't. The automatic additional information is just a thought, I'd be happy if I could just say "Hello?" and the guy I might run into could respond instead of us meeting suddenly and killing each other although none of us wants that.

(whispered) shouting to reveal your position/presence

Thanks for the replies. I can't tell yet if it's been a bad idea (it might well be), so I'm grateful for your input. The Zombies are done by voice actors, too, and they don't break the immersion. But you're right, hearing the same sentence over and over is extremely annoying. It wouldn't have to be the exact same sentence though. We'd need a lot of variations, with different (consistant) voices. A cooldown time could prevent spamming. No Button Combo, just one button. Point and click. Either speak or stay silent. Plus when you're hearing someone talk on the mic you can't tell where his voice is coming from, and by now it's sometimes hard to tell if he's close to you or using the side chat.
  15. I would like to make myself heard by friendly survivers who haven't spotted me yet by using a voice message. "why do we need this? Use your mic / the chat!" A voice message performed by a voice actor would add to the immersion, and it would be heard from your exact location. Giving away your position voluntarily might make it easier for the other survivor to trust you. Because who would do that if they wanted to kill you? I was thinking about a standard message like: "Hello? Can anybody hear me?" I do not want to choose from a bunch of messages, but it would be nice if you could also call for help only if you actually need it. The information would be added to the standard message: "Hello? Can anybody hear me?" -"I've broken my leg/rib" -"I need medication (food/water)" -"I'm dying here" The message should reflect the actual state you're in, no lying possible. "wouldn't shouting attract zombies as well?" That's why I want the message to be "shouted" in a whispering voice (I hope you know what I'm talking about. I don't know how to explain it.) Imho that wouldn't break the immersion. Basically it's an idea to make it easier for survivors to make peaceful contact, and to reduce the number of those tragic shootouts when two people suddenly run into each other.
