  1. Thanks DansTheMan! I'd just like to say that $50 for a 3GB VPS with a large amount of CPU dedicated to it is a huge bargain. You will find this no where else on the internet. These are top quality Windows VPS and I've highly discounted them for use with DayZ.
  2. Thanks Reymas, can't wait for your new movie. I've revamped the main thread and all prices have been lowered thanks to a complete reorganisation of how things are hosted. $50/month for a 3GB VPS and $159/month for a dedicated server.
  3. Just added a 3rd option: Option 3 (Available in Dallas): This third option is for those more experienced. This is a full dedicated server where you can do what the hell you want on it (As long as it's legal). You could host about 4 x 50 slot DayZ servers on it at a push. E3-1230 16GB RAM 1TB SATA 100Mbps Unmetered Bandwidth Hosted in Dallas, TX on a network optimised for gaming. The cost for this is $169/month. I currently only have 5 of these in stock at the moment. If you are interested please send an email to sales@hostaltitude.com
  4. I noticed there wasn't a thread for our servers. I've subscribed to this thread so I'll get emailed of any questions, queries or problems.

    TX1 down?

Oh sorry forgot to say, I'm not sure why that has happened but tents, vehicles etc are not saved locally and are stored on the master database for DayZ. We don't have much control over this.
  6. Currently have no VPS left in stock and 1 x 50 slot left in each location. I've ordered a very powerful New York server which will arrive on Friday. I'm also going to order an even more power Dallas server which will arrive late next week. Both will be for the VPS option and prices will be dropped.

Nope not rented, they are hosted through my company. We can provide a server for your friend, I have another thread about hosting here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=4191

    TX1 down?

  9. I'm currently hosting the 4 NYC servers through my company Host Altitude. We are hosting the 4x 50 slot servers off an E3-1230 with 16GB RAM. Being a server provider, I can get discounted prices at various locations across the US. I want to use this to an advantage for support DayZ. Server demand is very high and I want to get another server up ASAP. Obviously these servers are costly so we are happily accepting donations to get this second server up. I have set up this page: http://billing.hostaltitude.com/grouppay.php?hash=a8255-cdb95-5995c-a577b-fa8e3-df152-8b All donations can be viewed here and we can see how much is in the 'kitty'. As soon as it reaches $100 (Roughly 50% of the cost) I will order another beast. It will be hosted in New York again - if you think it should be hosted somewhere else such as Arizona or Texas, please say so. I am currently looking into Aus/NZ hosting but it is very expensive, I will post here when I get a good deal. Updates: We are currently at $150. I ordered a server in Phoenix, Arizona last night and it's now up and ready for rocket and the devs to set the server up.

    Dayz Server Monitor...

Anyone who we have sold a dedicated server too has been properly educated on the do's and do not's. I've created a rules page which hosts must now agree to before we provide them with a server. I would not hesitate to suspend anyone who affects the development of DayZ negatively, whether it be accidental or on purpose. I would strongly suggest any other companies or people who plan on renting out servers to do the same. It's just disrespectful to not follow the rules set by the DayZ team. They have put an unimaginable amount of time and effort into this project, lets keep them focused on development rather than working on fixes and security patches due to careless administrators. If you are looking to rent a server, make sure you are educated in hosting servers. It's not as easy as paying some money, clicking start server and then happily playing on it for the rest of the month.
  11. I've added a second cheaper option which is more restricted. Also, let me know what other locations you'd like to see.
  12. I am my host. I've calculated how many VPS I can fit on one node and the resource usage it will require.

Want to host a DayZ Server? Read in here.

I'm currently working on a way to provide DayZ mod servers with all the requirements needed by the DayZ Team. Once I get some sort of system up I'll be providing them at highly discounted rates. Stay tuned.

so where can i rent and admin a server??

hooligan you sent me a PM but you have PM's disabled so I can't reply.
  15. The problem is, the DayZ dev team need RDP access to the servers and will need to change things without your permission (to save time). This means the best you will get is the admin password to the server and your name in the motd/server name. If that's all you want, message me and I can fix you up with one. (I think you messaged me a couple of weeks ago)

    SE7 server

    Good job!
  17. I can ping from the UK and from a server in Germany. I'm all yours.
  18. The current Arizona server I donated is being used for other things by the DayZ team. I will be keeping one Texas server and one New York server up. Depending if I get a steady amount of donations (which is not the current case), I'll be putting up another Arizona server.
  19. We're donating a new Dallas node in a couple of days, can handle 2-4 50 x slot servers, just like the others.
  20. I've been trying to get hold of a good deal for an Australian dedicated server. The main problem I have had is the sheer cost of bandwidth. The best option is to go with a provider who offer cheaper 'gaming' bandwidth as the server won't be used for anything that requires the more premium bandwidth. This bandwidth still costs a hell of a lot. I'll list below the specs/quotes I have got so far and my thoughts on them. I'd also like to say that I don't necessarily have to be the one in charge of purchasing this server. I don't mind acting as the middle-man and collecting all the donations but if anyone more suited to the ArmA 2 AUS community wants to then that's fine. Quad Core E3 1240 4 GB DDR3 RAM 500 GB HDD 2TB data $325 / month. This could hold one server, around 50 slots. Quad Core E3 1240 8 GB DDR3 RAM 500 GB HDD 3TB data $400 / month This could hold two servers, around 40 slots each (to be safe) The current NY box is at 2TB after about 8 days of hosting 2-4 servers solid (NY3 and NY4 have not always been up). This means 3TB should be a comfortable amount for 2 smaller servers. UPDATE: AusArmA.org have kindly taken over the responsibility and donations for the server. Here is their donation link: AusArmA Donation Page: http://www.ausarma.org/donate
  21. Is that an OVH server? I believe some of the current EU servers are hosted by OVH and possibly those same specs. Ask some of the current EU server hosts for some guidance.

Will I be able to play?

If you can run ArmA 2 perfectly then you will have no problems running Operation Arrowhead and DayZ. If you tell us your specs then we'll know for sure.
  23. In two weeks I'll be moving all the NY servers to Dallas, Texas. The move will also allow me to put a few more DayZ servers up. This also means during the next two weeks both lots will be up as the NY server has 2 weeks left. The Dallas move also provides us with unmetered bandwidth.

    Oceanic Server Discussion

I've updated the main thread, ausarma.org are now in charge of getting the server up and collecting donations. I didn't receive any donations but I donated $25 to ausarma.org anyway.
