Reinstalled Computer's OS, can I get my old character back from the Server?

Hey Guys, Finally upgraded from XP to windows 7 and got some better hardware. Is there a way to get back to using my old character, or do I have to start a new character from scratch? Note, i'm connecting to the same server and my character is still alive and well (with a saw and 3 mags)
