Yes, a .75 calibre ball of lead is totally going to ruin your day. However, if Musket Boy/Girl misses you, you have at least 25 seconds to run in and hatchet them to death as even the Redcoats couldn't fire more than 4 rounds per minute.

To effectively engage other players with Brown Bess style muskets, you need a platoon of friends stood in 2 ranks using volley fire because you could miss a barn from 50 yards with these. To get the best of out muskets, wear bright red jackets and silly hats.

Being able to booby trap bodies and doorways with grenades should be do-able as you only need a grenade for the former and a piece of string and a tin can for the latter.

Out in the woods: Take cover and observe. In towns: Shoot on sight if player has a gun. Move towards me with an axe equipped and you're getting shot. -
At OP: Try running the @DayZ folder from a RAMDisk.

Rocket has used the Critical Need Detector algorithm as used by photo copiers and toilet tissue dispensers. The more you need something, the less likely you are to find it.

Unless you mean optics and other accessories that mount on 1913 spec rail systems, no. Many parts are not common across the same family of weapons, for example a Colt M16A2/3 barrel will not fit in a Colt M4A1. So, it's ridiculous to expect parts from an FN FAL to work in an AK-74 and vice versa. Even if they did, changing barrels requires a trained armourer and special tools, so your uncle Vanya isn't going to manage it using a hammer and a 2x4..

My mid 2011 MacBook Pro runs 35 FPS in the woods and 20 FPS in the cities on Medium settings. It does have 8GB of RAM and an SSD though. -
If you use RAMDisk, you'd be very unlucky to lose all data if you have the autosave enabled. I don’t want to lose my data on the RAMDisk, so what must I do? In the ‘Load and Save’ tab, check the box entitled ‘Save Disk Image on Shutdown’. Also check the ‘AutoSave’ box, selecting the backup interval that meets your needs. Your data will be written to the hard drive for safe keeping. Remember, when power is removed from RAM memory, the data is lost.

Doesn't bother me at all as I have VON volume at zero. Monitoring the Side Chat text can be very informative as players sometimes type before they think and can give away location/vehicle/loot info. -

From Otmel, there's the deer stand at Kamyshovo to check before heading up to Rog (which almost always has food, drink and a Makarov) and then due North to lot the deer stands around Msta. Moving North again, the woods give you the chance to travel up to Gorka or Berezino (if you need Meds) without getting involved in the factory battles at Polana and Solnichniy. My other common spawn is Cap Golova from which my first call is at the barns at Prigoroky (at least a shotgun and a drink here) before heading NE to Pusta. Mogilevka is good for basic food and weapons before deciding whether to cut NW to Zelengorsk before hitting the deer stands towards Lopatino or continuing NNE through the Sobors. The woods thin out a fair bit around here, but there are 7-8 deer stands between the Sobors and Gvozdno that can be approached from cover if you pay attention to the map. From here, you can decide which of the two airfields you want to be killed at.. -

I ran a Q6600 at 3GHz for 2 years using an Artic Freezer 7 Pro. I did use a fan controller for CPU and case fans as the ASUS fan control algorithm on the P5W DH Delux never quite seemed to balance cooling and noise they way I liked.

TV shows and films are different to computer games. In a TV show or a film, the shooting or killing of a child zombie is part of a story and happens within the context of that story. In the case of The Walking Dead, the characters were clearly devastated by Rick being forced to shoot Sophia, the missing girl they have risked so much to find. Contrast this to a computer game like DayZ, where you can shoot zombies and other players with complete abandon with zero story or context behind your actions. Imagine the public reaction to seeing a YouTube video of DayZ where a player shoots a zombie child for shits and giggles and then tries to teabag it's body while laughing uncontrollably. The media will go batshit and the vast majority of people that don't play computer games will call for a ban.

Shootable children, regardless of being undead or living will not be acceptable in Western Europe. Fallout 2 had children that could be shoot just like any other character in the game, but they had to be patched out after a number of EU governments protested.

If this is implemented, I hope the Devs go for a system where the occasional use of a cleaning kit is all that's required rather than that of Farcry 2 where weapons started to corrode and fall apart within minutes of use. Realistically, military weapons remain serviceable for tens of thousands of rounds before parts start failing and once they do fail, you'd need a trained armourer with the correct tools and parts to fix them.

Kamenka is one of my favourite spawns as you can pick up lots of good gear without risking the sniper alleys of Cherno and Elektro.

This. Approach from the woodland side of a deer stand if possible as anyone nearby will know you're within 200 metres of the deer stand when the zombies spawn in. Even better, find a good spot 300 metres away where you can scope out anywhere that a sniper could sit waiting for someone to approach the deer stand.
