(Video memory = Default , i use these launch parameters : -CpuCount=4 -maxmem=4096 -winxp -exThreads=7) Setting maxmem to anything over 2047 is a waste of time as Arma will default back to 2047 if you do so.

So I spawned with a single bandage. Which I needed within 5 minutes after mis-judging which way a zombie was moving while looting Kamenka. I spawned with a single bandage. Which I needed within 10 minutes after misjudging which way a zombie was heading.. After looting all of Kamenka then moving North and visiting 3 deer stands, I have a can of Pepsi, an AK magazine and an old bike. None of which is going to fix my growing hunger. I'm now having to decide whether to keep heading North in the hope of finding some food or move East to look for a hatchet and possibly find a shotgun. Perfect. -

For me, an SA with such functionality will be like playing my first games of DayZ where every zombie is a real threat and you need 100% situational awareness to surivive. Playing as a new spawn on a vanilla DayZ server with to original loot tables and the current "very aware" zombies has been eye opening this week and I expect the SA to be more of the same where everything is scarce and everything that moves on 2 legs is trying to kill you. -
I applaud your honesty. Text or gangsta speak are excellent reasons for killing fellow survivors in DayZ.

I won't drop a Winchester until I'm done looting the larger towns for the usual vital items and meds. 1 shot kill and quite stealthy when used indoors (against Zs anyway). Once I'm ready to head out into the woods, I'll take the first Lee Enfield I find as I'm much more likely to see other players first and can make good use of it's range.

Very odd... Have you tried setting all the texture settings to High and changing Video Memory to Very High?

Can you post a screenshot of your in-game graphics settings? Sometimes, turning settings to Low puts more load on your CPU which drags your framerate down when in cities.

If I KoS'd you, it was because: - I was out of cover / concealment when I spotted you and you were both armed and looking in my direction. - You were moving towards my position in a manner that led me to believe that you were stalking me. - You had a bandit skin. - I watched you shot an unarmed player. - You were going to loot the body of bandit I just shot. - You didn't respond to direct comms when we encountered each other in the woods and you didn't back away as instructed. - I was being a dick that day and I took out my frustration with life, the universe and everything on you. Sorry about that. -
Are you talking about patching people up in the field with a combat medic's kit or performing actually surgery?

Poll: Should players or zombies be the bigger threat?

In the mod as it stands, zombies are very predictable as they mostly spawn outside buildings and move in predictable, solitary patterns. If the zombie system was reworked so that zombies existed in area X before a player arrived, but were dormant without external stimulus and would investigate what another zombie was up to when they saw/heard/smelled one; we'd be playing a game where zombies were the primary threat. Again. The zombies don't need to ridiculously fast, strong or have super senses to be a threat. Once you have the possibility that there could be a zombie behind every door, wall, corner, tree or bush minding it's own zombie business until a tasty treat turns up; then you'll need to team up with other survivors just to get a can of beans from a small village. -
Can we please stop trying to make the SA look, play and smell like Call Of Battlefield 3?

We can't have DayZ maps of American cities as players couldn't tell the zombies from the local survivors..
