You should have to "zero" a scope when you add it to a weapon

Now, I like a nice level of realism in games, but this would be a step to far. Some fine adjustment makes sense, but boresighting followed by check shots at 25m and then 100m before zeroing at desired range is too much. Let us not forget that DayZ allows us to swap engines, wheels and even main rotor assemblies between vehicles without any alignment or adjusted being required.. -
Can you post a screen shot of the in-game graphics settings "Advanced" options?

Who said it was? Remembering how Black Isle had to patch the children out of the UK version of Fallout 2 after a media "outcry", I can see how killing zombie kids in the SA would play out.

Because: 1. UK media hates games and loves a "Playing CoD Black Ops made me rape a dolphin!" headline. It also diverts attention from stories about the media being up to no good. 2. Politicians love the above as they can make useful sound bites along the lines of "Ban this sick filth!" which diverts attention from their being caught fiddling the taxpayer and/or fiddling with a rent boy.

RPM and L1 cache size of your HDD? I'm guessing you re-used the HDD from your original rig... ArmA streams textures from your HDD, so a slow one = unhappy ArmA -

I guess I should be used to the "Why can't I have a mini gun / rail gun / Gold Deagle?" threads by now, but they really annoy me as seeing any of those weapons in the SA would ruin any immersion for me. You do indeed still need a defence under the VCRA to purchase RIFs.

I don't think people appreciate the level of gun control in place in former Soviet satellite states. A Party member in good standing might be allowed to have a shotgun or hunting rifle if they had access to land to use it on. Even then, having a non-Soviet block weapon was impossible for all but the Party elite. Short of what got dropped by Western forces operating in the area, the only likely foreign weaponry to be had would be German WW2 kit providing that Chernarus was invaded/occupied in WW2.

Putting an End to "Can I run it?"

"Can I run it?' is very useful for 2 main reasons: 1. It helps people with very poor PCs from having a terrible DayZ experience and slagging the mod off to all and sundry. 2. It helps people with decent PCs figure out which one of the many "make DayZ run like frozen poop" options they have set by accident via the in-game graphics options (and in Catalyst Control Centre). -

Seeing the epic bellthronkery and rampant backpack theft that goes on in Trader Zones, I think Military SZs would be a very bad idea.

M14 AIM is the best close to mid range weapon in the game. Accurate and deadly.
