Nope. Only 1 M1 rifle was sent to the USSR as part of the Lend-Lease agreement. http://www.ibiblio.org/hyperwar/USA/ref/LL-Ship/index.html#index See page 5.

How can you "create your own story" when all players start on the shoreline of a country where every single sign and poster has Cyrillic script all over it? Are we supposed to pretend that we're in Kansas and we just picked up a surplus M1 from Bob's Guns 'n' Bait?

Unless you covert your .50BMG sniper rifle to a Gaussian rail gun launching deuterium bullets at relativistic velocities, even SLAP rounds aren't going to hurt a tank.

Think of running DayZ as ploughing a field. You need a big and powerful tractor to plough it at speed, though a less powerful tractor can still pough it at a reasonable rate. You arrived at this field in a Prius and are wondering why you can't move the plough at all...

Until the hacking, duping etc. get fixed, there is no such thing as a rare item.

I'm guessing you were killed during the 30 seconds your player character remains in game after logging out. Only logout in cover when you're sure there's non-one else around.

Positive posts only: what feature are you looking forward to

Night time being playable without having to ramp up the gamma and disabling clouds. -
AK101 makes no sense in a former Soviet satellite state as they'd not be using any NATO calibres and have enormous amounts of 5.45x39 in storage IF the government of Chernarus ever decided to upgrade from 7.62x39.

No matter what differences of outlook and opinion I might have with the Moderators here, I think they do a pretty good of stopping this place descending into chaos or going on ego/power trips.
-
No. Just no. Russian IFVs/AFVs need as much, if not more regular maintenance than NATO ones. How many survivors will know how to drive one, let alone keep it running? And if you add IFVs, you need to add AT weapons to defeat them for the sake of game balance. At which point DayZ is ArmA2/3 or BF4 with zombies.

Many here have drunk deeply of the Kool-Aid and logic now escapes them.

It's very easy to avoid by not purchasing early access games. At all. Ever.

I'm going to have to disagree here and point to the thousands of design and safety standards that modern motor vehicles have to comply with. Growing up driving 3rd hand death traps built in the 1970s and 1980s, my 2014 Honda feels like it's from a different planet rather than just a different century. Class action suits have long since made the old "cheaper to settle out of court than fix a bad design" a non-starter.

Might it's condition be "Ruined" by any chance?

Day Z running problems, lag or laptop?
terminal_boy replied to TomMarshall's topic in Troubleshooting
Trying to play DayZ on a laptop to is like entering the Indy 500 in your mum's Prius. -
Macrium Refect. Takes an image of old new and copies to new. Disconnect old drive and boot from new drive. Job done. Did this 6 months ago from 1TB Samsung Spinpoint to 960GB Crucial M500. Took less than an hour. Thank me later.

No, it's because 2014 "next gen" consoles are basically mid-range gaming PCs from 2012 inside.

When are the devs going to allow us to do something about the hacks?

HELP Crashing to desktop every 5-20 minutes
terminal_boy replied to LtoThEN0's topic in Troubleshooting
32 bit Windows does indeed mean that it can only address and use 3.5 GB of RAM. Depending what you have running in the background (especially recording/streaming), your system could be running out of available RAM. With Comodo Security and Chrome running, Windows resource monitor shows 3 GB out of 16 GB in use on my system as I type this... -
[URGENT HELP] Terrible FPS can't even play without lagg
terminal_boy replied to yaboyteek's topic in Troubleshooting
That site only tells you the requirements needed to actually run the game as a programme. It's equivalent to saying my 1.6 litre diesel Honda can run Brands Hatch motor racing circuit. Obviously, I could drive my car around the circuit, but it's not going to be quick or much fun... -

Hip fire at anything beyond 10 metres only works if you enough ammo to "walk" your shots onto target.

HELP Crashing to desktop every 5-20 minutes
terminal_boy replied to LtoThEN0's topic in Troubleshooting
What GPU and CPU temps are you seeing after the games has been running for a few minutes? Are these the same as you see when running other FPS games? What your idle temps (after 30 minutes use)? Are you running any overclocks? Latest MB and GPU drivers installed? -
Horrific performance woes in last two stable updates
terminal_boy replied to morthrane's topic in Troubleshooting
Minimum specs are about as trustworthy as politicians. In reality, they give the lowest spec PC that will actually run the game with zero promise that it will be playable. Your cheapest performance boost would be to move to 8GB of RAM to allow more resources for system tasks and overclocking the hell out if your CPU (with a good cooler). -
I can't wait to see how BI map all the keys required to play DayZ to a console controller...
