Play around with your 3D settings in CCC. Enabling any of the ATOC settings turns the grass in a waffle pattern for me in ArmA 2, the Mod, the SA and ArmA 3 running AMD cards. 7870, 7950 and now R9 290.

What Motherboard do you have? If you move to an i5, make sure you get a "K" one as they're unlocked and can be easily overclocked past 4GHz. As other have said, your GPU will be holding you back once you have a decent CPU. That scope looks ridiculous on an SKS. As for sniping with it, intermediate round does what it says on the tin. Why do you think every Warsaw Pact infantry section had a soldier carrying an SVD? Because SKS/AK-47/AKM aren't effective past 300 metres.

Indeed, too many pictures of blown M1As to make that a good idea. 5.56 NATO round in a .223 Remington is equally prone to bad things happening as some .223 barrels have a tighter and shorter throat which isn't a good idea considering the standard US 5.56 NATO Ball round has considerably higher chamber pressure. -

You might tweak a few underlying frameworks while you're still adding code, but you can't optimise and stabilise a complex software architecture until you've got all the code modules up an running. Trying to optimise while you're still adding features often makes the finished item more flakey rather than polished.

2 in about 8 hours of the SA. One as a recent spawn with a fire axe and another player kept following/closing in on my without comms. One as a fresh spawn where another fresh spawn started throwing punches.

Nope, their course motor control is poor, their fine motor control is gone and their hand/eye co-ordination is patchy at best.
