    Can anyone answer this question im about to ask? I played DayZ with arma2 OA and the arma 2 demo (I put the arma 2 files in my OA directory which let the game work) and that worked. But when OA had the optimization update it wouldnt let me run the game anymore. Do i have to BUY arma 2 now to play DayZ?

    P.S. The reason i have the arma 2 demo instead of combined ops is because i got OA from a friend (for free) and didnt have any money so he told me i could just grab the arma 2 demo and it would work.

    Im looking for a small squad that would consist of me and 1-3 others.

    Id like the people to be well spoken, this means even if you have an accent, it doesnt matter, just speak proper English. I can personally make out what anyone says even when they have the heaviest accent known to man.

    Preferably have a working mic and a voice program. I wont go into a group with 1 person the doesnt have a mic.

    I dont care where you live or what server we play on. This is going to be a squad. So you have to adapt to the play times if the group decides to set some, otherwise, ill play whenever you want to.

    Age isnt an issue, if you are 12 years old, thats fine. Just dont be spamming your mic for no reason. Be intelligent and most of all, not annoying.

    I live in Canada, so i will obviously i will most likely not have the same time zone if you live outside Canada. And if you are an annoying American cunt that likes to make the annoying Canadian jokes, please go move to the next thread.

    You can add me on Skype () or on Steam () (Names have been removed as ive found a group to hang with. Will put back if things go sour.

    Man it was amazing. Most fun ive ever had on DayZ!

    And to the two server hoppers that killed me and tried to kill Rob. Go die in a fire of cancerous death....

    Props to Rob for writing this up after this fun experience :)

    P.S. If we have any more awesome moments like this again, will be sure to post them!

    p.s.s. Amazing mod and great job to the dev team i love it! It just makes you feel so much!

    Maybe you misunderstand me. Or I you. In any case' date=' I'm not saying the paper is blank because it hasn't been written on [i']yet I'm saying rocket is purposefully leaving the paper blank and giving players the tools to write on it themselves.

    Each individual player gets to decide what DayZ is to them. I had this same debate with someone about people who use web maps and loot tables. If you want to play the game as a virtual cartographer - learning every nook and cranny of the game by sight and heart - then go do that. The fact that I am not interested in doing that and instead use online maps and loot sheets to determine my route is really irrelevant. The game has no singular goal so the paths we take don't have to somehow be synchronized via the "greater vision" of the game. We don't even necessarily have the same goals. Our paths may never intersect at all - and if they do, well your Winny is as good as mine.

    Playing as a team has many benefits if your goal is to achieve the sorts of things that teams are better at achieving. Maybe gathering the best equipment in the game and repairing vehicles isn't really what you're into at the moment. It really doesn't matter. You're not competing against the people who are for the same thing. You're just sharing a space and both making each other's experience more interesting for it.

    As long as rocket stays true to his vision of providing not rules and restrictions and predetermined goals and instead simply provides freedom, mechanics and tools and allows players to craft the game as THEY see fit for their own individual subjective experiences, he will have succeeded. As soon as he starts saying "This is the one sacrosanct way to play the game and all others are verbotten henceforth" then the game starts to fail in my opinion.

    This is precisely why calls for artificial restrictions on PvP are met with such derision here. The fact that, if people so choose, their goal in the game can be to find and murder me adds dramatic value to whatever goals I may set for myself. No matter what I do or how I play, I have to consider that not everyone has the same goals and motivations as me because the game doesn't force them to in any arbitrary way with a silly set of "rewards" and "slaps on the wrist" when players behave in ways accordant or discordant with the will of the machine.

    No you don't.

    Rocket should keep the starting gear to a minimal. Im talking 1 can of beans, 1 water, 1 bandage and a flashlight.

    It was way to easy. I didnt care if i died with amazing gear or anything, cause i knew as soon as i spawned, i had a ton of supplies and a gun already. One player kill later and you are where you were before you died.

    People like you cry about bugs and say you know its Alpha. You dont. If you did you would make a thread crying about it. You would understand that the bugs are annoying and just move on.

    This mod isnt to be spoon feeding you everything. Rocket wants to make this mod difficult, actually make you use your brain for once, unlike all the games out now. So please, next time you want to give your shitty opinon, dont.

    I have Arma2 free and Arma2 OA, i did everything correctly for installing the mod and yes, i do start the game up as combined Operations.

    I have read over 15 threads about this issue trying to see if anything helped these people, but its either people dont know or people do things that only work for them and not the people asking.

    Someone please help, im sick of the lack of information on this subject and hope this thread will be of future use to those with this problem if a solution is found.

    TL: DR

    CA Building Parts Error, need help, dont post useless/meaningless shit.
