The reason you need the beta is because there are some fixes in there that are not in the vanilla game, also some functionality I would imagine. Please search these forums for a guide to install the beta, pretty easy actually.

@ Sacmo77, I am glad your closing your server tbh. When you first got the server did you not agree to the terms of running DayZ on your server? I guess the answer was yes. So, actually there is no point in moaning about the devs etc, your point is moot. And if you close your server after someone claims that you abused your admin powers, you need to grow a pair... Close your servers buddy, no loss.

I dont have NVGs and I play on night time servers ~ 50% of the time. It is easier to avoid zeds. You just need to have patience and not do stupid things. Things like staying out in open ground, using the roads etc. Even in Cherno I can go about my business at night without getting shot at. You need to have your wits about you and be careful. Ears help to.

Exactly Thorlaxx, An inherent part of the mod is "can I trust you?". You might work together for an hour or so then get a round in the back of the head from the person you trusted originally. Brilliant!!! -

Correct they have not been fixed yet. But what has happened is that community servers and the admins ban players that hack their server. I play with a community with Arma 2/OA and have been playing with this community for 2 years. I have only ever seen 2 hacks on this community server and both times the prick has been banned from the server. So, if you play with a good community then hacks hardly ever happen in my experience. It is down to the server owner / admin to make sure people that hack are banned from that server. Between good admins and battle eye banning pricks this will become less of a problem in the future. And as rocket said, give it time...

That is when the server is set to recruit difficulty. It is trying to emulate peripheral vision. It the server was set to expert or higher you would not see this. Same as you would not see the green cross hairs. It is a part of Arma 2.

Yep that is another take on the situation, I hope your wrong though mate. Hopefully people have the tools or will develop the tools to combat wankers.

Scared of a Ban, what to do about cheaters?

When you spot someone cheating, report it here on these forums, specifically the Cheat report section. Gather as much info as you can including: 1. Name of server. 2. What actually happened. 3. Name of culprit if possible. 4. Time and date. 5. What you were doing at the time. 6. Any other stuff you think pertinent. 7. Screenshots of everything. If you can make a video, even better. Without proof nothing can be done. Regarding a ban, have you tried to get back on the server? -
