I just remember him saying that Steam won't work just because of its character of patching (but they changed that, as rocket stated in the blog post). I am too lazy to put much effort into something like searching for a source right now. Well, I will certainly not miss an ignorat f like you, that's for sure. I remember what rocket said once. Something like "This game won't be on Steam". Well, now Steam suddenly appears to be obligatory - I smell hypocrisy. btw I won't buy it if steam is obligatory. It just doesn't make any sense to me to have a program whose features I absolutely don't need in order to run a completely different program with no relation what so ever to it.

Yeah, thought about that too. Well, the thing is: I spawned with a L85A2 AWS and I actually can't remember ever having had such a rifle.

After I updated the dayz-client and the arma2 beta, I logged in on a server and was somewhere completely different with almost entirely different gear. Is this supposed to be like that?

Try a less popular server or check the western/northern map borders; people tend to hoard found vehicles there

I was (until now) mostly the way you are (except the fact that my jimmies stay unrustled, maybe) but mostly, just like you, being patient on a rational basis.But this whole thing has reached a level at where I am starting to get a little upset, being all alone with no worthy information (all the gamescom interviews are basically the same). It's been weeks since there has been a heads up. And this heads up brought us a broken patch that f*cked up more things than it fixed. It's probably true that Day Z was just an "experiment" at a certain state (that's actually Halls words) and I wouldn't be writing this if it still was, but we've reached the point of just being an experiment a long time ago. Now, it's about the benjamins - about MY benjamins. I am a potential purchaser of the stand-alone game. If they don't show some progress, I'll probably lose my interest in this game and will, in worst case scenario, defect to such things as "The War Z". I am not really demanding some heads up, just saying they'd be good in at least saying something instead of nothing.

I disagree with anything that you posted. Just don't stay too long in spawn-areas, move towards north. And the idea of PvE and PvP is just ridiculous.

Not really. DMR and SVD have way higher effective range (especially the SVD). But still I prefer the M14 due to its "overall" characteristics (highly accurate rifle with decent damage and great close quaters characteristics)
