i wouldnt change either without first fixing the hit boxes. some other guys say "shoot them in the head" well thats not always so easy to do. sometimes it takes 3 shots to register as a headshot. and dont tell me im actually missing the head-you all know what im saying here. then give the zeds more health or whatever.

yeah but there has to be a line. in real life, there would be what, 7 bill infected? we would not be restricted to a certain area, however at least for a while any safehouse would be temporary. tents have turned into permanent guarded bases, and with no roaming hordes out there i think that is much more unrealistic. also, the bigger groups clearly have the advantage. in real life there is no respawn. so if you take away tents and despawn the body, that dude would either have to actually look for equipment again, or hope his buddies hav extra. if they do, it would be taking up precious space in their packs. id rather have the guys that already have unlimited gear to have to find it again then me go get his. anyway, the groups im talking about likely will have already hunted you down and killed you for killing one of them anyway. unless you dimension hop.and the real life argument does work, because that is the goal. ps there should never ever be a city of 10 tents with so much stuff in them the stuff disappears from being to full. that really is a problem. those guys dont even have to play anymore. they just run straight for their city and re equip with the best gear in the game. none of this is realistic to me. at least there needs to be some kind of risk/danger to these ridiculous tenst cities. this is one of the biggest contributors to the pvp epidemic, they dont care about death and dont have to.

i respect your opinion here, but in reality in a real apocalypse situation, especially one with zombie/infected, a perma tent wouldnt really work. your not likely to stay in the same place for long enough to utilize that. you arent going to be storing things in a tent. unless you can get some kind of stronghold, in which case you wouldnt need a tent anyway, you will likely be on the move for the foreseeable future, taking with you only what you can carry. fuel would run out rather quickly. even a siphon would have a limited viability, as fuel goes bad after a time.my vote goes to eliminating tents all together. it sure as shit would make dying horrible. no 30 min regear. would change some play-styles to actually try to survive. -but keep vehicles and storage in the vehicles. also, a body should despawn once the player respawns and becomes alive again, on the same server. its stupid that you can loot your own body. so having 10 clanmates guard your dead corpse so you can "reclaim" your gear would be gone.

to add to this i think the bigger the group the bigger the advantage. the groups are the ones with the fully loaded out tents-most of the time. why should the bigger groups not have to work for their advantage? especially when these days the only thing they have to do to get it is to go to their tent city or meet up with their group? for these guys death already means nothing, so lets not get a spawn choice to make death mean even less for those guys.

uh, no it doesnt. 1 already has the exact same probability as 6. now there is the same same chance x4 you will generate nothing. also, if you have 10 items, there is already nothing spawning with the 0.

you are right, to a point. lots of people (me) did buy armaII. the thing is, before dayz i didnt even know the arma franchise existed. so i would not have purchased it. im not saying either way about buying dayz standalone or whatever, i will probably throw down some cash no problem, you just cant throw out the pov that for people like me it was in fact a package deal.dont misunderstand, now i like arma. but if dayz was already stand alone, i would have purchased dayz and not arma. i know its a mod, but still feels funny buying something twice. keep in mind alpha is usually done internally, no cost to test. we all knew this was eventually going stand alone, but at this point in development it required an engine to run. if the decision wasnt made yet, or much later, i wouldnt even be commenting here. dont think that would work at all. anyone can sign up now and get it free later if they play now or not. anyway, i dont want it to be free, but i would certainly appreciate a discount.
