yeah, and your point? i never said turn it off. i said the op was a valid question, and gave possible solutions: sp or lan game. i wouldnt want it off myself, but i also think it sucks how it turned into pvp with zombies, rather than zombies with pvp. this is no longer a survival simulator. and no, surviving rampant pvp and hacking does not fit into the original idea of survival sim.

again... i dont mind going a week or two without communication, but the fact that rocket is going on other sites and at the same time he IS completely ignoring dayzmod.com/forum, which is the official site, is very odd. and it sucks. this "official" site should be the FIRST and foremost for information. isnt that the point of this forum? after this "official" community has been informed, commented on, whatever, then go to all the others like redit. same thing with the tweets. i do not want to have to go to 3+ different fucking websites to learn anything about this damn game because we cant all organize in the same fucking place. i dont want to hunt down a bunch of different interviews or whatnot and collect them all in the same place, and i you shouldnt have to either. this place should be utilized for what is was created for. thats why i signed up. how about you?

dude, those rules dont apply any more. admins make up their own rules. i dont have a "home" server, as with the tent and vehicle bugs i dont see a point, but every server has little messages when you connect. you should go check out a few different servers, they are all different. and many threaten bans etc for disobeying. and why not? dev team doesnt come here much, so there is no recourse. turn off your filters and you will see an astonishing number of servers that are locked with passwords with 1-5 players. sometimes i see locked servers with 0 players. all the private hives, and still no organized or standardized server labeling system in place.i think this threa is legitimate, the question legimate, however impossible. that is why we need either a separate single player option, or a lan type game option. i could, for example, gather 25 30 people locally and have a lan party and make teams. i know for sure that would be more fun than half the shit that has been going on lately, considering tent cities, beach spawning, spawn camping, and HACKING.

the skin changes on respawn, so i would assume they havent been killed yet so havent respawned? maybe...

stupid me fell for it once. one time i was listening on team speak and when i figured out where they were i marked "here?" they just couldnt figure it out. that is incorrect. i check the map on login, global channel by default? then i usually switch to direct and the marks are always still there.

i believe rocket was always with bohemia. from what i can tell he was working on arma 3. i could be wrong on that too..im not sure where you are trying to go with the rest of this, my point was it is a game. again, its not an mp3 player, internet browser, cd ripper, or real life. its a game. even though its a "mod" and in alpha stage, its a game. that was the only point i was trying to make. and most games start out as mods from some other source engine. beyond that, it doesnt matter if its an arma mod, hl2 mod, or whatever. its still a mod, (same thing in the end), and still a game. playing and testing is mutually inclusive, and you cant do one without the other as long as the project is in development.

of course i know how it works. why do you assume everyone is stupid? i was just saying it is in fact a game. i didnt say anything else.and no, its not arma. its not just another mission. its a modified version of arma. same way there is arma, and armaII. different shit. just like most games-they come from another game that gets modified (both using the same engine) to create a different game. the only difference here is we got in before "stand alone". if you got into left4dead for example, the same CORE ENGINGE type problems existed. the general public didnt see that "mod" until it went "stand alone" and didnt see the same type of issues and didnt realize or know that was too a "mod". same with a large percentage of video games today. the same basic principles apply whether its arma or not.

no, it IS game. what do you think a mod is? is a "mod"ified game, making a different game. its not a word processor or a mp3 player or real life, its a game-in alpha state.

its not my system. there is something in the code somewhere conflicting with my system. that doesnt make it a system problem or a mod problem. it makes it a compatibility problem. something needs to be optimized somewhere, and since i have nothing to do with developing either one, (arma is different than anything ive seen before) i dont know where the problem is. rocket says its an easy fix for the standalone, which tells me it IS in arma (engine). no other program i have ever ran on my system has had such issues, its with arma/mod (or in between). if it would use more than 25-30% of system resources, which is clearly a widespread issue, it would run much better. that is not in the system. the resources are there, they are just not being used.but thanks for trying to come up with an intelligent solution. appreciate that.

my fps have dropped of a cliff. im LUCKY to get 20, thats a spike for me currently, and every 4 or 5 steps even in a forest i get sharp dips down to 5-7 fps. makes it really hard to do anything, and i currently stand no chance in any kind of pvp encounter. and no, its not my system. will this be different in the stand alone? or is the arma3 engine going to have the same kind of difficulty? monitoring my resources it seems arma2 uses less then half of what i got, and changing settings seems to have no effect. is there a way to make the game take advantage of the resources it for some reason does not use? is it safe to assume the standalone will be coded better and actually use the resources available to it? i just cant justify spending money on it in current form, even just $5, especially to my wife.

no, fuck your face. there are no bugs doing it manual. there is much more potential for bugs by letting some crappy program do the same thing you would do yourself.the point is, its how you roll back. rocket doesnt have to pull anything, you just reinsert the previous files into a folder and hope there is still a server.

dude, the bad things need to be reported to be known and get fixed. some people are haters/whiners, but the majority of people on here seem to be doing their jobs. "spoiled kids" seems like a stretch.

i havent and still dont get the vectoring or anything like that, just the little black blotches off in the distance. obviously i dont know the difference in configuration for all these systems, if there is a way to pinpoint this (why i dont get them and others do) i would be happy to provide any pertinent information. i also spawn on the beach every time, no matter what. i only connect to servers that (claim to) match my versions. yesterday i was watching elctro under a tree in a sniper suit, hearing gunshots down the hill the whole time. "(name) was killed" was pretty constant. couldnt see anybody. i saw one zombie aggro, then stop. then i started getting shot at. didnt know what it was at first, the guy couldnt hit me. was just single shots, like a semi. i just kept hearing gunshots then some strange noise that i havent heard before. after 5 or 6 shots i realized i WAS getting shot at and he must have been hitting the tree? what a retarded sound it was. i was able to get behind the tree, the shots stopped so i ran up the hill and did not stop running. a few seconds later all of a sudden i got blasted by a fully automatic weapon. the only way this could possibly happen in this situation is if dude teleported, or could run at least 4 times faster then me, judging from the distance he couldnt hit me and was using semi. i also know the terrain here, you cant just run up the hill that was below me. i never did see him. i dont care if i die, but if you are a shitty shot and this is the only way to get me, piss off. this was not legitimate. -things will be different in stand alone-so what? stand alone is a ways off. i cant test a game if i cant do anything. there are some bugs that will not be found without proper testing, and with people teleporting themselves around, thunderdoming, starting half the map on fire, fake guns, and pretend vehicles, only the most obvious issues will be found. i guarantee there are issues that have not been found and wont be, because of these things. i cant believe there is no way to either stop or catch people when they teleport, seems pretty elementary to me. wouldnt take much... this is something debug forest should be for...
