I would be all for zombie sharks! -
Could we have Maybe add butane as a fuel to refill lighters, lamps, etc? A refillable lighter could be used for a long time as long as you had butane fuel around.

This isn't RP, this is the apocalypse. Doubt every single car you find is going to have keys with it, so NO locking.

I made a post about dragging and hiding the dead a few days ago: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/106936-playing-with-and-honoring-the-dead/ I like the ideas of dragging bodies but a five minute timer is in my opinion too restrictive and not needed. I can see the body entering rigor mortis after an hour and becoming stiff as a plank which would impede the ability to drag it as easily if it were fresh. Some of the things I suggested in my thread may be a bit out of colour, but I did suggest being able to make a grave for the dead and place them in it for a more permanent way of hiding the body or for a moral/sanitary reason (the inclusion of disease would mean rotting flesh all around would cause sickness for everyone around). I think being able to drag someone then properly bury them would add a more realistic dimension to the game as people generally dont leave the dead in the middle of a road.

Will Pistol damage tables be fixed in SA?

If I were shot with a .303 british cartridge in the chest without any body armour, I probably would be in some serious shit most likely incapacitated and probably bleeding out rather quickly. I mean, rangers in the north cary Lee Enfields because the .303 can stop a freaking polar bear. Don't know about one shot kills ALL the time, but I think one shot followed by some serious mass bleeding/incapacitation would be more realistic. Ive been shot with enfields in dayz and survived without much trouble these days. Besides, its one of the few bolt action rifles so the time inbetween shots is slower AND its freaking loud as all hell so it should have the advantage of a very high probability of a one shot kill. -
Yeah I would like to eat people, please add this mr. rocket.

Claymore? No. IED/homemade trap, yes.

M24 is a good rifle, but DMR you can use with NVG's!

Playing With (and honoring) the Dead
PracticalTactical replied to PracticalTactical's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Isn't shooting someone without hesitation a psychotic tendency? Yet people in Dayz often KOS. Killing someone without even batting an eye is inhumane and it happens all the time in Dayz. I can understand where you come from when you talk about pinning a body/decapitation, because that is a bit much. I was thinking at the time about a mod called The Hidden that I played a long, long time ago where the "hidden" could take the bodies of dead and "pin" them to the wall as a means of disturbing the other players who were hunting the hidden. It worked well in that mod and can be done without being gruesome (aka decapitation, guts hanging out). After all, the big fright in Dayz is the human element, the fear that someone is watching you and trying to take you out. Having this ability could help that feeling of fear come back again, imagine walking into a town and seeing a survivor haning from the roof of a house! That would scare me alright! Thanks for the imput btw. -
I would like to see the ability to syphon gasoline out of other peoples cars gas tanks. I support the idea that gas stations should have a limited amount of fuel, and that there should be a bigger refinery up north with allot of fuel. I think if this would be implemented there should be more low fuel or no fuel type vehicles/transportation available like in real life. Horses, different bikes, unicycles?

Tired of DayZ? Not playing ArmA II anymore because of DayZ? Money wasted?
PracticalTactical replied to privatewolf's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I played regular ARMA before dayz existed. ARMA has allot of cool stuff and is massively fun, funner than dayz actually. -
what is your suggestion if a country or the whole world you can play in dayz?
PracticalTactical replied to Candylol's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Post apocalyptic India or China would be interesting. Mainly because of the different types of varying terrain and massive population centers. I think some of the weapons that could be found would be unique aswell such as the PLA QBZ-95. I do like Eastern europe setting of Dayz though. -
NVG`s should be seriously hampered with batteries and very low spawnrates (even lower than they are now).

Consolidated Weapons/Equipment suggestions
PracticalTactical replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Less high tech military loots and more civilian type weapons IE: Lee Enfield, Mosin Nagant, double barrel shotgun, over under shotgun (one barrel for bullet, one for shot), AK type weapons (eastern bloc), some sort of .22 rifle and .22 pistol (silent, light, plenty of ammo, can still kill you, perfect sneaky assassin/light packing survivor weapon), Ability to trick your ride out (add corrigated steal panneling, spraypaint it different colours to match with environment, ability to shoot out of vehicles/mount an mg as a turret), BATTLEBUS!!!! (or battle ural), ability to add 7.62mm cans to the guns on the heli so you wont run out of ammo and not be able to reload in any way, hunting knife as weapon, stealthkills (cut throat, choke, smother), molotov cocktails, building bases, splints. -

What was your very first ever DayZ death?
PracticalTactical replied to Shadow Man's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I spawned at Kemenka, in pitch black darkness (literally couldn't see anything, only slight outlines contrasting against the ocean). After dropping several flares, I decided that it would probably be smart to follow the road and railway tracks west. I ended up in the debug plains, lost and not knowing what to do. No flares left, i made a turn into the woods. An hour later, starved, thirsty and beaten I decided to end it all. -
Standalone - worried?
PracticalTactical replied to Rifle Eyez's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I actually would rather them take a few more months to put out a solid product than have them rush to put out a glitchy and incomplete game. After playing WarZ, in my opinion Dayz is still betther than it. WarZ seems rushed, very rushed and a little bit cheap. It was fun for the two 48 hour passes I was given by a friend of mine, but near the end of the last hours of me playing the game, it got quite boring. We had literally done every major spot on the map in about 8 hours of gameplay over two days (and even most of the areas that are very minor). WarZ's colorado map actually felt quite bland, incomplete and inferior to dayz's Chernarus IMHO. As someone who has worked on mod teams as a mapper (not on ARMA) I know what it takes to make a quality map, a OK map and a shitty map. WarZ's map seems to me something that could be put together in a relatively short time, and honestly, it feels like they spent about two days on the map then rushed to release. I think DayZ will do fine as long as rocket and team can fix the hacker problem, which is in my opinion what ruins the experience most of all. -
Some backstory to enhance the DayZ expierence
PracticalTactical replied to AfterShave's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Sorry, I find it hard to imagine a navy convoy with helicopter gunship escort being completely penetrated and owned by pirates in small skiffs. One of the navies primary jobs right now is fighting piracy off the coast of somalia among other places. I do however, think that all the destroyed military vehicles need to be explained a bit more and that a story that involves some sort of conflict where maybe this virus was released as a form of biological terrorism would be plausible. It would explain the massive military presence that is all over chernarus. -
In my opinion nights the best to play. Zombies agro less, players cant see you aswell, plus flashlights! :D

Zombie twins breaks the immersion :(

Use your IMAGINATION. Maybe they were twins before the apocapits.
