    There is. As much as I don't like the idea of a console feature helping a PC game, but in this case I suggest removing the Gamma and Brightness from the graphics settings. Instead we should have one setting which we set when launching the game for the first time. The one where we adjust a slider until the symbol is barely visible.

  5. I can confirm that the military camp at the NWAF were (at least last night after the patch and server restarts) were also NOT spawning loot but the barracks and hangers did. I agree, the military camps at Balota, Zelenogorsk and the one south of the NWAF should be removed leaving only the "slightly" hidden one south east of Zelenogorsk, the NWAF, the NEAF and the NE ship wreck as military loot spawns.

    If and when they get added

    We should have local military jeeps (un-armed), maybe one or two transport trucks alongside civilian cars and trucks.... if there is a helicopter it should be a transport only and either in VERY bad shape (requiring a ton of repairs) and once it is gone, there is only a % chance it may spawn again during server restart. No armored vehicles unless it is a humvee (without weapons)... no planes unless the map is four times the size with a separate island.
  7. SOME might be "private" or "sub-hives" ... which run on a separate hive from the public one. Make sure you are joining official public hive servers and you will have your previous character back.

    no more loot in military tents

    I can confirm that the loot in the military camp at the NWAF is also empty, after a server restart last night just after the patch.

We DO have the product we paid £19.99 for... it is a discounted Alpha... same pricing model as Minecraft and ArmA 3.... the price (in £ anyway) will go up to £29.99 for Beta and will be £39.99 for the full game more than likely, just like ArmA 3. Then over time and with Steam sales the price will gradually drop back down etc..
  10. If I knew I was going into a potential combat situation I wouldn't want that backpack with me so I would leave it in a location I knew of and then go back for it when I'm done. But right now the game is too unstable for this, every time I drop an item I don't know when, where or even if it will re-appear again, not to mention we don't get warnings about server restarts.

    Ammunition should be extremely rare

    Military equipment and ammo should be available in military camps like it is now, but I find the problem is the number of military camps available. In the mod (vanilla) we had NWAF, NEAF, there was some stuff around Balota but I never found anything there, then the spread out hunting towers and the rare re-spawning chopper crash site. In the SA we have NWAF, NEAF, NE ship wreck, Balota, Zelenogorsk, the military base not far from zelenogorsk, a military base south of the NWAF. So in terms of military weapons, ammunition, uniform and other gear it is in plenty of stock given the number of areas. I believe the military base at Zelenogorsk should be removed, the base south of the NWAF also removed and Balota transformed into a civilian airstrip. Hunting Rifles and rifle ammunition, binoculars, hunting backpacks should be rare spawns in the hunting towers. Mosin Nagant should be able to spawn anywhere, but also rare along with it's ammunition. Then you have two versions of the AK, military version which spawns in the military camps which can also have rails for attachments, then the regular wooden stock civilian one which is a rare random spawn, but of course both share ammo so ammo for this can be a little more common as will be ammo for shotguns which could be found almost anywhere, especially barns (I miss barns, they used to be a key location in the mod but are now useless, cannot even find wood in them). Pistols, well we should have a more civilian model pistol which could be found almost anywhere (not common) a long with ammo, the magnum should be rarer with military pistols restricted to the bases. Btw regarding the scopes (Woodland Warrior), I don't know if it is just my bad luck, but I have so far only found one "worn" quality red dot scope for an M4 (which vanished after this latest patch) and so far I have found 3 PU scopes, 2 ACOG and 1 other red dot all damaged, badly damaged or ruined and so nearly pointless to use. I don't have a problem with the ammo, it is just how many military bases we have, especially now the map feels small after you get the gist of knowing your way around.

    These cleaning kits are everywhere! And so are the new sodas, in fact didn't they just replace the old soda models?

    Character roll-back after new patch?

    These are on the main servers, we have been rolled back a few days/weeks. I was up north with an M4A1 modded and some serious kit, I ended up back in the centre of the map with my mosin and rustic civilian gear from a week ago.

    Sawn-off Shotgun, not what you'd think.

    Punching is fine, it just seems that there is a bug where a wild punch can KO someone, I have seen it in videos and this needs to be addressed. Well I'm guessing this shotgun needs balancing, it should be a one shot KO, second shot kill or if very close then one shot kill no questions asked.

    After Patch, Problems.

    Same here, I had an M4A1, Hunter backpack, ballistic helmet etc.. and I was up north, just east of the NWAF. After patch I log in and find I have been rolled back to a previous self with my Mosin, camo jacket and small backpack I had over a week ago! lolz!

  17. Then get off the coast, travel in-land, follow roads to towns, eat and drink lots or find a friend and get them to give you a Saline Bag IV which will restore you to health.

    Death Counter in main menu

    Yea some way to see the following: Survivors Killed Zombies Killed Deaths Longest Life Average Life Span On the main menu, similar to the old de-bug screen, but on the main menu only. --- As for spawn system, it is not broken it is just unbalanced. I am strongly against having Balota as a military site, but rather a civilian airstrip with no military loot on it. Things will get better once we have the Shotguns and AKs added evenly through civilian zones as non-military weapons with a military version added to military areas.

    Combat Logging - Massive Game Killer for DayZ

    Did Rocket not tweet a few days ago that his primary goal right now is implemented a new anti-Combat Logging/Server Hopping system? Did the one from the mod actually work? All I remember was a flashing handgun symbol which did nothing. I was running along the coast once with my trusty Lee Enfield when I heard shots, spotted two bandits sniping fresh spawns so I closed distance, used a tree for cover, aimed and fired two shots KO'ing both. But before I could kill them off they both combat logged... the mod's version did not seem to work in my opinion.

    Admin privileges and server time rant

    I have yet to come across that. My only gripe about servers right now is that there are no automatic loot re-spawns so loot can become very, very hard to come by in the later hours of a server rotation, this forces the 4 hour server restart rule which means it restarts in the evening before night. The other problem is we need a warning for server restarts like in the mod it told us way before it happened. This issue will only be resolved when we get automatic loot/zombie re-spawns then servers can run for longer into the night.

    Mosin Nagant?!

    Only ever found 3 mosins compared to something like 10 M4A1s during my gametime. 1st - Apartment block in Cherno (very little loot in these, but one of them did have a mosin) 2nd & 3rd - Red brick mansion one was on the floor and another was on top of the stairs. All were without ammo.

    Do you agree with modding in SA?

    This. DayZ started out as a mod (which we know as vanilla) but I see most people will be playing mods like Epoch these days, but I'm pretty sure SA will be taking influence from these popular mods such as the base buildings and adding the best in a much more developed form into SA without the insane amount of high tech weapons I keep seeing in these youtube videos. A DayZ SA with a huge map (bigger than the current) incorporating cold areas with Namalsk-esque cold environment and temperatures to a large island way off the coast you would have to get to by chopper, plane or boat, a form of base building (not quite as insane as epoch's), weapons we would realistically see in this situation and location with well thought out and logical spawns combined with the new health system, medical equipment, food crafting, illnesses, vehicles, zombie hordes etc... I don't see why we would need mods, it only splits the community.

    Weapon selection

    The M4A1 was problem chosen first to test the attachment system out. As this is Alpha it may change and we might find western weapons restricted to helicopter crash sites with more soviet style military grade weapons in the army bases with civilian style soviet weapons scattered around the map. Who knows at this point?

    Just a quick question about Visibility

    At long distances (without a scope) players look like dark objectives moving about... for me when it got to a certain distance (despite clearly seeing the buildings) the blob vanished... which annoyed me slightly. I'm running on slightly below default settings, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, AMD FX-8350 x8 4.3Ghz, MSI GTX 770 2Gb, 8Gb Kingston 1600Mhz RAM, 1Tb Seagate 6Gb/s 7200rpm HHD. I thought that settings were not going to be like in ArmA 2 as removing things like bushes and grass gave advantages to people playing on lower settings ??
