I have had similar experiences. It's really annoying to join a server only to get kicked. It takes me around 3 tries to find a usable server when I'm looking for a <5 player server.

Security Vulnerabilities fixed by Patch #2 and Character wipe
CptHomer replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
-.-. Anyone who read my post would understand that "I knew something like this would happen". I think that is all I need to say here. You create a problem and complain about it, rather than reading my post that obviously states that I understood and accepted the disclaimer when I load the game. I only said that it was annoying never the less, and that I would like them to fix it. What is wrong with a bug report? -
Security Vulnerabilities fixed by Patch #2 and Character wipe

I had an almost perfect character until I decided to join a server that didn't seem to be fragnet, vilayer or mpgs. This apparently wiped my character. Sort of annoying after spending 6 hours getting all the supplies, but I knew something like this would happen. Just fix these random wipes or delete servers that wipe players (It didn't seem as if a patch had wiped me, it was just random). -
You've probably heard this one before, but here it is anyway: My friend and I had found a huge camp north-west of Kamenka, in the very edge of the map. The camp lies in a rather dark forest, and is shaped like a horseshoe. While it has just got dark, my friend runs around the camp with his night-vision, stopping every now and then to pick up some gear. I had just died for reasons unknown (I left my computer and went back to see the "You are dead"-screen. The weird thing is my buddy was right by my side the whole time...) Then, his nightvision goes out. I hear him whisper over teamspeak: "Was that you?", and I feel the blood freezing in my veins. "No" I reply. Then, my friend hears a dark, inhuman voice, saying "I see you". My friend is now panicking, shooting around like crazy. After a few shots, a silhouette appears in the momentary flash from the muzzle. It is wearing a mask covering a bloody face, and has a hatchet. It sprints towards him, and his bullets do no harm to it. Instead, the beast insta-kills my friend with a blow from the hatchet. When I get up to the mountain, his body is gone and there are no signs of forced entry. My friend was dead, however, and I heard the "I see you"-voice over TS. Here's a link to the voice:

My server is up again now. I got this mail from them: As i am sure you are all aware for the past few days our DayZ Package Service has been down due to unfortunate circumstances which were out of our control. Our hive which has been up 100% since it was put online was subjected to a major hack since the latest update. We use the BLISS hive system in a mass format and unfortunately the BLISS hive in it's latest release has some major vulnerabilities of which we have reported them to BLISS directly. We are fully aware of how the hackers were able to subject the database to mass scale data injection however we are unable to modify the data to correct the issue. Over the next 24/48 hours we are going to release a major security release which will hopefully correct and stop this issue from occurring in the future. We have reset the database of which this has reset all data on the servers, we found that this was the best way to correct the issue and get the services back online without any prior issues. If you have any further questions please let us know. Best Regards, Vilayer LTD

Here's the content of a mail I just got from Vilayer: This is a mass mail aimed at our clients who have purchased our ARMA DayZ Package Game Service. As you will all be aware over the past few days when attempting to play on a Vilayer Private Hive server you wont have been able to connect. Also recently our main coder and CEO (Lee) has been in the hospital and just underwent surgery. This has caused a delay in investigating the issues we are currently experiencing. You will have also experienced a delay in our support staff responding to your tickets, this was due to the high influx of tickets that came to us due to this issue. The issue itself was due to a breach of our hive database. The vilayer hive is based on open source code provided by a 3rd party and by no fault of our own this code was exploited, not just with our hosted services but with several other DayZ providers who use the same base code. Now what does this mean for you? Well, every DayZ Package server is going to be reset due to the data being un-recoverable. ALL hive data apart from tents and vehicles is going to be reset. We do regret that this happened and we do apologise but as mentioned above it was out of our control and we couldn't have stopped such an attack. We will now be working on resetting the hive to a state allowing you to connect with fresh reset servers, after this we will be working on securing the hive to prevent this from happening again in future. There are those of you who will be wondering how you will be compensated due to this issue. To create a sense of order in the way we deal with good will, we require you to create a support ticket once your service has been restored. We will then work on a first come first serve basis on serving good will allowances. There is no need to create more than one ticket regarding an issue or good will request, we will deal with every ticket in the order they come to us. If you create multiple tickets it only slows us down providing support to other clients DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL, IT HAS BEEN SENT FROM AN UNMONITORED MAILBOX THIS EMAIL MAY BE SENT REPEATEDLY TO REITERATE THE INFORMATION Kind Regards Brad Gyton (General Manager) Vilayer Ltd http://www.vilayer.com

I never shoot unarmed people. Sometimes I tag along with them for a few raids, then when they get a weapon I tell them to not take it for 30 seconds while I run away. Up to him if he wants a fight after that. Also, I understand some bandits. Even though I hate to admit it, I mostly understand the bandits that attacked my camp in Namalsk: I was sitting in my camp in the woods by Sereja Army Base, enjoying some freshly cooked meat by the campfire, when I hear a grenade explode only 20m away. I quickly jump into my pickup truck and race away like hell, leaving my other two UAZs at the camp. The bandit squad of three then get into my UAZs and chase me. This is when my uncle calls to congratulate me on my birthday, and I try driving with only one hand. I fail miserably and crash into a tree. When I get out I make a pathetic attempt (Still only one hand in use) to shoot the leader of the group. I miss and run for my life, but he has seemingly unlimited ammo for his M92SD and ends up hosing me down. I understand these guys because: I had some very nice loot I was an obvious threat, both given my Mk48 and the fact that I fired back This kind of banditry is fine, but running around NWAF and getting sniped by some douche with an AS50 is a pain in the ass. Imagine I had run all the way (That's 100 minutes IRL, looting excluded) from Cherno to NWAF just to get sniped when I get there. Then again, if I can't take being sniped I just probably just stay away from NWAF <_<

Yes, I have this problem as well. Thanks a lot for clarifying this, I had been resetting my server a thousand times and re-installed the game and everything, so even though this isn't really good news, it's still nice to know the reason of the problem.
