The argument at hand here is if he had duped the items. If he had the gear you suggested he probably would have duped the items but there is still a 50% chance that he obtained them legitimately. So honestly, I would base my decision to bury or loot him on how he was acting. In the case you mentioned I would probably bury him. The original discussion boiled around the use of hacked in items. These should not be used by anyone which is the point I raised. If you use them you are just as bad as the dupers and script-kiddies. Indeed. The false sense of anonymity on the internet is a wonderful thing for many people.

I agree with you in the sense that if I find an AS50, that I suspect, was not duped or hacked I would take it. However, I refuse to take anything that would give me an unfair advantage from illegitimate means. Which weapon you talking about Inception? AS50 TWS was never in game but L85 was removed by accident but is back in game.

Battle Eye works fine. It may not be the best but it is better than nothing. Remove it and open the flood gates to script kiddies. If your mates are getting kicked then get them to check their files as something must be wrong.

Where do I state if I have or have not? Sure, many people dupe items intentionally for their own personal gain but that does not mean that everything has been duped. It is unfair to assume that everything 'high-end' is duped. The easiest way to deal with this is just decide what to do based on your experience. E.g. 'A person has an AM rifle, NVG's, and a basic tool kit.' He is hanging around the NW airfield waiting for people. - I would say that its probably not duped. 'A camp with 5 AM rifles, 10 NVG's, 5 rangefinders, etc.' - Most probably duped. 'A player with a ghilie, hacked in weapon, M9 SD, satchel charges,' He is watching Cherno- Hacker/Duper/Exploiter/ Waste of space I agree that duping is a major issue but the only way to prevent duping and make it ironclad is for the devs to fix the bugs and wipe everything back to the start. Only then can we have the confidence in everything you pick up. Once they have dealt with duping they will wipe everything so the all of the duped items will be removed. That should reaffirm the status quo. I suspect the only reason the devs have not opted for a zero-tolerance policy is they don't want to give themselves more work to do. Be aware that this will hurt legitimate hoarders more but that is something we will all have to deal with.

Most admins do 'give a fuck' but they are exasperated with responses and forum posts outlining the problems. They also get heavily criticized and accused with ridiculous accusations. Currently people are just ganging up on the server admins because they are stuck between a rock and a hard place, for good reason because there are a few bad eggs that would just abuse the admin tools anyway. Have patience, soon server admins will have proper tools at our disposal and the admins that don't deserve to host anything will be removed. You should not feel that you have earned a hacked in weapon. Hacking a crate is cheating. Using illegal weapons is cheating. No shades of grey there. I hope they deal with duplicating items because that defeats the game just as much hacking does. Once they have ironed it out I hope they wipe every server for a fresh start. Then we can put the duplicated item accusations to bed.

You are not using an L85, had you been using one I would not have commented about this. You are using the AS50 TWS, which does not exist in Day Z and is therefore illegally obtained by you or someone else. I sat down to watch a great video, in the end it was just an anti-climax.

It is not in the game and is spawned in via hackers. There shouldn't be a better version of the AS50. It's pretty decent as it is. If you want to use it go play ARMA 2 singleplayer. By doing this you are condoning their script fiddling. You have just justified their existence and their exploits. You are just as bad as they are by using these illegally obtained items. Your arrogance and naivety is astounding by posting that video. I appreciate you were trying to get kudos by showing your ''great gameplay'' and then it just boils down to you using a weapon that doesn't exist in the game, giving you an unfair advantage over everyone else and making your video pointless. Try being part of the solution instead of part of the problem.

Indeed. So why not dump it and save your reputation? Ultimately, you are just another player using illegally obtained items for their own advantage. Try doing the same thing with a normal AS50 or a DMR. Things might have turned out differently.

Nice one Aaron. The game has been a bitch to configure recently but they are making progress and eventually it should be stable. Glitches are not as bad or are gone entirely. Hackers are a random chance and they will be gone soon enough. Good to see you had a positive experience and when you do have a bad one just grit your teeth and bear with it. The pay out is much better the more you put in. All the best!

Agreed. Using hacked in items provides an illegal upper hand (AS50 TWS for example) that was not designed to be available. You have no right to using hacked in items and upon finding them, if you suspect them, should be left or deleted. This is the section of the community that is intentionally borking the whole project. Repercussions for these types of gamers will occur soon enough unless they change their ways like the majority of the community has.

The graphical glitches have been fixed for a large number of people. If not, post a bug report and they can attempt to rectify this for you as well. Have a look at several work-a rounds (e.g. did you set it to default memory in settings?) You have not paid any money to the devs so I hope that you realize you are paying to provide a service so people can test? By putting a report in you are providing feedback which is what you are entitled to do as an 'alpha tester'. The only thing they have to provide to you is a system in which you could potentially test and in this case they require you to post feedback about loot not saving appropriately. I appreciate it is annoying but you are not entitled to any returns as you have not purchased a tangible physical product. Plus the fact that that money went to BIS and not the devs in the beginning. Hopefully that money has been put forward to develop the standalone and not just in their coffers. Be patient as there is nothing else you can do if this is a problem HIVE side.

Agreed. The point you have raised is a valid one and is very relevant. Many players feign ignorance when they do not become the victim. They feel they have a right to these items after having all of their progress ruined by script-kiddies. They don't realize they are only part of the problem and this view is imparted on to others. Eventually this spirals out of control as more and more players can grab these items without any fear of reprieve. Eventually these will all be punishable and I for one will welcome that.

Eldo, I agree. I am stuck up, but the fact remains that you are condoning his actions so your argument here is skewed. If you are just playing devils advocate then forgive my ignorance as well as it certainly has been entertaining to say the least and it gives me some time to vent some frustration. Ultimately though, stop trying to derail the argument and try to focus on the broader picture here. I have been honest and outlined why I feel this is affecting Day Z negatively. Many other people feel the same way. He obviously just wants to get a quick profit from finding these illegitimate items. Instead of leaving/deleting them he chose to advertise on a public space that he had these items. His aim was to profit from gameplay that is not supported and frankly causes a number of other problems. It defeats the point of the game. Maybe they didn't use hacks to find it. If they were around the map they could have found it and restarted so it would return to the last place it was saved? They wont need the map hacks for that. If the server was locked for 5 minutes after the restart to get the chopper back it doesn't sound good for them. Did you manage to get any proof? Videos, screenshots or anything would help substantiate your case here. Otherwise just advise people what to do. Try contacting the server admin.
