  1. Rocket has already talked about having the option of disabling the debug monitor for this exact reasons so I assume this would also be an option. He talked about it in the machinima interview a week or two ago.

That sounds great. Hopefully names could be toggled off in the inventory screen as well.

Still, the issue specifically of the leaderboard being displayed on the death screen is a significant one and I don't think it would be much trouble at all to disable it. You can already bring it up at any time by pressing "i". I can't really see any reason why it needs to be up by default.

  2. Help streamers help you.

In addition to having to deal with the rampant, unchecked hacking, displaying leaderboard on death makes streamers incredibly vulnerable to stream sniping.

They generally can't change scenes in XSplit or obscure the screen in time to hide their server name or other information that exposes where they are, and - by extension - what servers their squad's camps are on. This is a very small request that would be a GREAT boon to streamers who help grow the popularity of games/mods like this.

  3. Steam > Library > right click arma 2 arrowhead > properties > local files > bottom box.

Alright. Did that and the window said "1 file could not be verified and is being reacquired". Ran it again afterward and got the same result' date=' but the patcher ran this time without giving me the error. Not sure if that means it was successful or not, though.

What version is this patch? ARMA indicates Version 1.60.87580 in the bottom corner of the menu screen.

I apologize. I probably sound like a dunce. Thanks for being so quick and helpful, though.

Go that site, download the script from step three. When you run the script it should change to 1.60.93701

Right click on dayzbeta.bat > edit at bottom long line you'll see -window delete that.

You can replace it with these launch option to improve game.

    -nosplash -world=empty -cpucount=2 -maxmem4096 -shadingQuality=0

    -cpucount=2 - Dual Core.

    -cpucount=4 - Quadcore.

Other Option IF you want steam overlay.

First save original exe from AO folder.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta

Copy arma2oa & overwrite the exe in main folder.

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead

Steam library > right click properties > Set launch options

-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=@dayz -nosplash (plus the ones above if you wish)

    Enjoy :)

Thanks so much, man. I'm running out the door now, but it seems to be working. Version number changed and I was able to log on to a server. I'd rep the shit out of you if the rep system were still around.

  5. Has anyone had encountered an error with the patcher telling you that you have the "Wrong CD Key"?

I've tried restarting Steam in Admin mode and uninstalling and reinstalling ARMA. Also tried the registry editor workaround described in the forum link. No progress whatsoever.

    Verify cache?

    Using those patches ya?

Verify cache? :embarrassed.jpg: Not sure what that means.

And yessir. I'm re-downloading now to make sure the patcher didn't get corrupted somehow the first time.
