Would like to give this a bump before making another thread as im still stumped. If it helps when i go to calibrate mic ingame it starts at 0 and quickly counts up to 100%..Also my mic works with everything else fine...is there maybe another place to check/change mic options for ARMA 2? ANY tips or questions would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

hey mate. Im currently i a lone survivor with RL friends not playing anymore.At the moment playing Taviana but still jump on vanilla every now and then.My ingame mic dose not work but happy to use TS. Im pretty flexible with how i play the game. Each life i might try a different objective(survive as long as you can in cherno,medic, helping anyone you see, axe rampage, ect) But if i had to descibe my playstyle i would say im generally friendly and like to loot and hoard stuff. My IGN is Ocelot, feel free to add it to dayzcommander or send me a message or something

I thought this might be a good idea to see what other people want to see in the game in a fun way..post what you DONT want to see changed/introduced in the game but write it as if you do. Please dont flame and troll. i will start I think snipers are unbalanced and m107 and AS50 should be removed..Also night time should be made brighter

Hi guys, i came here via forum search..im currently having problems with my mic working ingame at all..all forms of text work but mic dose not..as far as the solutions go.. Solution 1) Run as admin..Im using winddows XP and can not find any options to run as admin..My mic seems to work in everything else and in "sound and audio devices" i have voice recording and sound recording set to Realtect HDA Primery input(There is a Realtect HD primery input but dose not seem to work with the mic in anything..also the setting under sound recording was on Realtect HD input.. changing it dose not seem to change the function of the mic at all) Solution 2) Once again, windows XP seems to have a different layout..looked for anything similar but couldn't find anything. EDIT-i was silly and missed that selecting a setting in sound and audio is setting it to default..everything looks correct here.ALSO the settings for my soundcard(Realtek HD audio manager) match my windows settings Solution 3) When i click auto adjust it counts from 0% to 100% pretty fast then says done. Yelling in the mix while this is happening seems to have no effect besides me looking crazy yelling at the computer.. Perhaps this is a clue as to why my mix not working Solution 4) I dont use steam for arma 2 or day Z..But i do have steam and my mic works fine Solution 5) This is the post that took me to this thread..i have done a fresh install and updated to the latest patch joined a server with 99153 and still no working mic...ALSO i belive Sting2pee said something about his mouth moving even though he is not talking..this is what is happening to me everytime i hold down the push to talk button. and im sure this is another clue.. Any help would be great, as i really find it hard to play without a mic(getting shot by netrual players as i didnt respond quick enough..not being able to communicate with friendly survivors as where running along(cant stop and type)

All good ideas but im sure many similar ideas are floating around..im also sure that ROCKET has said he would like to see more player base building stuff implemented into the game..and sure it will happen :) .. I do like the idea of colonizing a town or more specifically houses and buildings

That would be a bit rude if this happened but wont. Sounds like you have a joystick ;) .I think the one thing dayz is going to keep is that EVERYONE has a chance to do ANYTHING..If you stumble onto a helicopter in the bush you should be able to TRY and fly it away.. I have a computer racing wheel, should every car need a racing wheel to work? i think not.. I think alot of people forget that changes that exclude a group of people from doin something(only joysticks for flying, only engi class can fly ect ect)..or removing something altogether, is less constrictive then changing, tweeking how it currently is.. But most of all EVERYONE should be able to do EVERYTHING to some capacity IRL i may not be able to fly a helicopter. but im sure i could mash buttons and fly it into the ground

I dont spend as much time on the forums as most people....but i find it so ridiculous that people try to get there idea across with the lame tag of realism or in your case "illogical" You better reload your axe with 10000000 swings.Because after i run in sprint for a hour..eat 10 tins of beans and chicken stake,brake my leg from steping off the 2nd step in the barn and shoot up morphine to recalcify my broken bones instantly .shoot a unarmored person in the heart with a DMR and they run away with shock.eat 10 more tins of beens and drink 10 cans/4 letters of softdrink just so there's none for the next person.crash, go from 60kmh to 0 in 0.001 of a second and walk away or drive on a bridge and get flown in the air randomly...after all that i want to be able to jump in a helicopter and be exactly the same in real life..because this isn't a game..this is LIFE!. That being said im sure there are legitimate augments as to why helicopters can be removed...But using a post by rocket about lights in a city being illogical. by saying flying should be more realistic its "logical"?.. To me it just makes you look butt hurt about helicopters. Sorry for the tone, but honestly man you provided no legit reason why helis should be removed.. as far as " it would eliminate the abuse of admin or cheaters and increase the level of very rare object and survival or remove army helicopter and add civilian helicopter or helicopter reporter" I think the only way it will reduce the number of "cheaters and abusive admins" is by driving people away from the game ..(And it wouldnt stop the cheaters...you would just see a increase in non dayz vehicles being spawned)I also trust ROCKET if he dose change the games vehicles(or anything for that matter) it will be for the best of the game for the vision he has with the final product How about providing a constrictive idea..like making helicopters only usabil when someone is in the fly chief chair? or what ever its called..or making the guns on the side require ammo? Or one that fits in with your take on "realism".disabling or tweeking the auto hover?.. "then we would have implanted a system of skill initially as a bit jagged alliance has it gives you a series of questions that predetermines your specialty but we change the subject." Not sure if you mean the players personal skill or implementing some sort of in game class system.if done correctly i think classes would be a great idea

I personally think the current hunger/thirst system is a little easy, Im fine with how it is now but if any changes were to happen i would think it would make it harder..or how everyone else likes to name stuff they want to see in this game "Make it more realistic" I think the timing for hunger and thirst is fine...You may be able to go without food/water for 5 days but quality/nutrition and physical stuff you do that would make it drop faster aside.I believe the game compensates well for the fact that your not going to play this for 120 hours straight.. Two ideas i got out of this post are 1)Food is more scarces and your hunger level drops over the 4-5 days even when not online 2)food is more abundant in residential places(it dose make sense)..but have more of a punishment for being hungry(at half hunger screen starts to blur/get brighter. and when the icon is flashing makes most light sources blinding or screen shaking) As the game currently stands its always a good idea to hit supermarkets early on and stock up on food,drink,Knife,matches,map, ALICE pack...i find the last 4 more impotent then any weapon early in the game.. Also playing with a online map helps. I have yet to starve to death before i make it to a supermarket. Also if the supermarket is empty of food(happens to everyone time to time) its great to server hop. I also always try to have 2 food and drink on me at all times and when food gets 3/4 empty ill make my way to somewhere to get food if i have none. I feel as it stands now if you need food your best bet is to head to a supermarket(crazy right?) as all the animals seem to be able to smell how hungry you are and run away(unless you dont have a kinfe/matches then there everywere) And you cant rely on other places to spawn food to save you from starvation.. Its understandable that your upset. Starving to death is one of the most underwhelming ways to die in this game, only matched by breaking your leg on a pebble without morphine. But you will learn like most of us have. most people run with 2 morphines and 2 food/drink to avoid these horrible deaths.. TLDR: Get more food

Hey guys, i have tried to set up a few trades on here with no luck so thought i may as well make my own thread. Im currently looking for 1 x DMR 1 x M14 Aim 1 X Ghillie For trade i have 2 x FN FAL+3 mags 1 x M16A2-M203 1 x M240 (LMG) 1 x M24 (Sniper) 1 x M16A4 ACOG 1 x M9SD 10 x SVD ammo 10 x STANAG SD ammo I will also provide some ammo if you trade a weapon and would like 1-2 DMR mags :)

I was playing this server last night and saw two motobikes behind the NW airfield. i went and got a jerry can as they were both empty and when i came back i saw two people around the bike...one had coyote backback and NVG and was about to take the bike and thats enough reason for me to put one in him..shot him in the head then 3 shoots to the body with a DMR while he was in the bike inventory..3 seconds later admin ban I fucking hate the AU500 server, its a joke really.. AU 1 and AU 2 are not much better but they just seem to have hackers and not butt hurt admins But as you said theres not many public games for aus

Hi guys, really hope someone can help.. last night while playing on my regular server i lost connection and on trying to rejoin get a massage saying "you were banned".. Now the strange part is at the time i was talking to the admin about a previous hacker that was on earlier, this is just after a server restart and he says something like "oh forgot to turn on the new anti cheat" and having a little rant about it, i was not paying 100% attention at the time but in hindsight guessing that it might have something to do with it.. After i see the ban message i jump on the server team speak, knowing that something was wrong..The admin has no idea why im banned, He said in the log that in my last visit i "disconected"(when i lost connection i assumed thats when i got banned) Also my name/ GUID is not on the ban list and i should not be banned..he was also confused about the message saying nothing more then "you are banned". after i sent him a screen shot he then banned himself and sent me a screen of what the message should look like(something like battle eye:something something reason) The server is a public hive and i have no troubles joining other servers..Any help or ideas would be great as it seems to be the only public server with locked 3rd person,side chat and good admins.....also many tents full of goods ;)

Iv never had this problem but i know that today after a blew myself up with a grenade. on creating a new person i remember the gender select screen just because its the 1st time i seen it since the patch and it has change. its not just 2 boxes with male/female but a model of a male/female

you should have a look at http://dayzdb.com/map#5.052.039 90% of the time i play i have it in the background and alt-tab to it Not only is it good for seeing were loot spawns but the chance of what items spawn there Also after awhile you will be able to identify what buildings you can/cant enter by there shape as there is only maybe like 10-20 types of buildings you can enter, and half of them you wont even bother entering after awhile because you dont need empty cans and flares

The other night on a near empty server i was adding to my zombie kill count while farming the barracks, running down the runway at NW airfield and going into the firestation to finish of the train of Zeds. While inside the firestation i throw a smoke grenade out the door with no troubles. from the same position i throw a frag grenade.....after not seeing against the sky i go to run out...but its to late..maybe its because the last time i checked my zombie count before i died it was 666(would of died with a few more kills as i shot a few before throwing the fail grenade)

After me blowing myself up with a grenade, the server with all my stuff on it being down for hours, a epic bikeride and a few server hops later. trade went smooth. Thanks Swordsworn and sorry for the delay. would gladly trade again. +1 to you

Hey mate its Ocelot here, you should look at this post as im mighty sure it was you that was in the server with me http://dayzmod.com/f...8443-weird-ban/ In short you were not banned for logging but because a hacker was messing with the server.. Also the server is currently down and has been down for the last 5 hours. :(

personally i would love it just for the locked 3rd person alone..i find it funny that(brace for guessed statistics) 90% want the game more realistic 90% players want 3rd person because its realistic to sit on a roof and look over the whole city as your face is in the ground and your 100% hidden. I try to play servers that lock 3rdP but as far as aus/nz servers go there's really only ONE public server that dose that and its a unstable server at that. If the server has 3rdP i use it and abuse it like everyone else..but i would be very happy to see it go.

I feel your pain, i also have my base set up on the glovine public server..and have been waiting for the last 4 hours for it to reopen so i can get items trade with someone else on this forum.every now and then the server would seem to go down for 10-30 min but its been offline for nearly 4 hours.. Honestly im going to try and move my base to another server as not only dose the server randomly go down..but 50% of the time when it goes down unannounced it dose not save your progress and you lose everything you done since your last login. The admins seem nice and i like the locked 3rdP and sidechat...but currently it dose not seem like a stable server to have a camp on.. Also curious what you mean by "puttin in place something a bit more fancy every few days" iv only noticed the server name change and thats its(iv also have 3 tents on the server for nearly 3 weeks now that are still there and untouched)

Iv grown quite attached to this M16 ACOG but more then willing to trade for the AIM+DMR combo..i can also trade all 10 SVD if you like as its been taking up space for awhile now :) Ill be free to trade 18-24h after this post so send me a message and we can take it from there :) Thanks mate

I can now join the server! no idea what changed from a hour ago and after 3 days i can now join...I belive it must of had something to do with that hacker and battle eye( as i did leave and rejoin the server after the hacker left with no worries) I would like to provide more of a answer on how it was fixed but it just seemed to fix itself.. Thanks for the reply..Only on the one server i get the message 9/10 times. i have also got lost connection to host once or twice.. The hacker i was talking about in the original post was also doing things(well trying to) i have not seen. It was just me and one other person on the server at the time then a hacker joins..comes up with a message something like "Stallion is attempting to become admin fail"(AND no its not the message when someone try to edit the mission from login) the message then spams like he is mashing enter, it then spams with "kicking player (me) failed" then same thing for the other person in the server..after 10 seconds or so of that spamming, more message come up the same as the 1st one but instead of the hackers name it was ether me or the other person..Every one of these messages was followed buy a fail or not allowed or something and he left not long after joining Could that have something to do with it? im not a server admin so im not sure what info you can see.

So tonight i spent around 2 hours repairing a ATV and filling it with enough parts to repair another vehicle.i didnt have another vehicle, i just couldn't find the last god damm wheel. That aside i decide to stash it up near Pobeda dam driving from the Klen spawn. This being the 1st time in a vehicle(old bike dont count) i was driving carefully but also testing it out, seeing what it was capable of..As im getting close to Pobeda im feeling good that i have not even come close to crashing it. I gun down the last hill to the dam. And suddenly pull up just before the dam, remembering reading that bridges can destroy your ride if you fly over them...I edge onto the dam with 2 loud thumps, feeling happy that i dodged potential death of me and my ATV.. But about a quarter way across the dam, going slow, the front right wheel slowly raises into the air, for the next 3-5 seconds i could do nothing as i see the ATV....very...slowly.... fly and flip into the air, spits me off the drivers seat unconscious next to my now burning ATV and blows up in my face I survived but my 1st vehicle that could weave around trees and dodge junk on the road at 60..died after 10 minutes...to...im not quite sure what... i guess you dont drive on the dams? i know i never will again. SO...Have you spent hours doing something in dayz just to have it all fall to shit afterwards?and what did you learn from it? (Besides the obvious "Spent my whole life gearing up. Got shot in the face. I now shoot people in the face")

Loled. yep thats what happened to me. but in super slow mo and not as high.. But from what iv seen(not much) it seems that its really only the ATV that has problems like this . Im sure every vehicle will loose to a pebble if trying to drive over it but what about bridges+dams+anything else thats dangerous? Can i drive fast in other vehicles over bridges?
