I initially saw way more banding together and non-hostility when the patch launched. I've heard this has died down somewhat however, namely due to zombies no longer being as hard mode as they initially were and axes being more plentiful. I don't have much first hand experience of how it is now however as I don't spend much time on the coast. I did get insta ax murdered though during one re-spawn.

In this thread: people get offended over the possibility of learning to refer to things in a way that won't instantly mark them as ignorant to people. If you've ever seen someone think their monitor is their computer or someone who refers to their tower as the hard-drive, that's more or less how misuse of 'clip' sounds to people knowledgeable of firearms. I wouldn't really feel comfortable knowing I was going around sounding like a pleb in anything really, nobody wants to be 'that guy'- well except for some posters in this thread apparently.

That'll happen if you all use the default face and wear the same clothing.

I have seen this once, both my friend and I saw it simultaneously however, so I assume it was either a problem caused serverside that affected everyone or just a public broadcast message over one player. Beta patch and 1.7.1

If the server has side channel, it probably has broken direct chat. It will work on beta servers.
