Rocket and team take your time.

I've seen these posts countless times and its starting to get annoying. You want to play this game as bad as the rest of us.. otherwise you wouldn't be on the forums making posts like this. So stop being a fanboy and a poser. As many have said, its not the time that everyones mad about. Its the broken promises and lack of communication. If he just made ONE POST or even ONE SENTENCE to answer us instead of ignoring everyone.. he wouldn't be so "swamped with questions about SA" and he'd be less "stressed". He should not be stressed at all about the whole WarZ situation. This kind of stuff happens all the time in the gaming industry. Thats why theres been 50 WoW and COD clones. People will ALWAYS copy successful games to try and make money..Its just a matter of who makes it the best. WarZ is a piece of shit and so is that Russian idiot who made it. The Day Z mod is even better than it. But they released it early in order to beat Day Z SA and start making money. Soon it will have vehicles and new maps, which some might consider better than the mod. The longer Dean waits on launch, the harder it will be to compete with the slowly improving War Z. Which is why it needs to be released ASAP. Most people don't care who started the idea, they won't wait for this kinda game when theres one already out. He previously redid the map, the inventory, clothing, the weather system, zombies, and greatly optimized the game. THATS ENOUGH. As Rocket said himself, he needs to release a foundation, and add features along the way. Rocket has 2 deadlines, one from both Bohemia and WarZ. If it isn't released in a month or two, I fear WarZ will leave Day Z in the dust.

    Axe in pistol slot

I think you should be able to have up to 3 weapons equipped. Just make a maximum of 2 big weapons (Assault rifles, Snipers etc.) or one bigger weapon (50 cal or lmg) and a big weapon. You should be penalized with slower movespeed the heavier weapons you have though. And how come you can store a car tire in a backpack?! If it doesn't fit in real life, it shouldnt fit in the game.

    Some Free Inspiration.

I like the part about disconnecting. As you said, there should be a timer on logging out. I say 10 seconds for logging out if theres no zombies or gunfire nearby. And if they f4 out then their character should remain in the game for a minute and their dead body for an hour or more. I'd like to see dead bodies sticking around for a long time. It really adds to the immersion and can tell you if players have been there.

    Vaulting and Climbing aspects

I think it should be added for sure, but it needs to be done right. Bunnyhopping should not be possible. Give it a 5 second cooldown and make it impossible to aim while jumping. Also, make it drain a good chunk of your stamina so its more risky than beneficial to do it in a fight.
  5. I got this idea from a day z reddit post and couldn't help but post it here. This suggestion has nothing to do with claiming territory by construction, rather through fear. This could be done through simply making warning signs or hanging corpses from trees and nailing them to posts. This would be useful once construction is in so hostile groups could scare people from entering their area. I think this would only allow players to further tell their story and add some more excitement into the game. It would also be cool if you could hang people. That sounds like something I would do with my friends. :) Theres already a lot of talk about rope for SA.. so it would fit right in. note: Did not realize this was brought up b4. srry :P

    Day Z Standalone claiming territory

Obviously people won't have the same fear as they would in real life. But since death is permanent, people tend to play more carefully than they do in other games because if they die, they have to start over again without all their acquired gear. If you saw a pile of dead players or a player hanging from a tree, you would probably start to ponder if its a good idea to keep going in that direction. Especially if a new player experienced this, I bet most would go in a different direction for the fear of bandits waiting to ambush them. I know I would.

    (SA)Doors/Entering Buildings

I agree with the OP. Doors should be more interactive. You could use an axe or a chainsaw to cut through a wooden door.
  8. Me too. It should most definitely be skill based and not a key spam competition. Weapons could play a very interesting role struggles. I think it would be cool if there was an execute button which would perform something different based on your weapon. If you are unarmed, you would attempt to strangle your enemy. If you have a a knife you would try to stab them but this could be reversed on you. If you have a pistol you could try to point the gun at them and shoot them but this could be reversed on you as well. I think you should be able to throw enemies as well. The fight scenes in the movie Taken are perfect examples of what struggles could be like.
  9. Farming is one of Day Zs biggest problems along with Hacking, excessive banditry and ghosting. The most used method of farming is going to some place like the airfield searching it then switching servers and doing it over again. Here are my ideas to fix this: 1. Make characters bound to servers. When you create a new character you would be allowed to choose any server..but it would be permanent for that character. I imagine most people will hate this idea because of the negatives that come with it..But it would work!! If you have a friend that you want to play with on another server, you would have to create a new character which isn't that bad. If your server is full, you are basically screwed, But theres always the possibility of overflow servers like Guild Wars 2 has. Besides, The standalone has already been optimized for performance, so it probably has a higher server capacity than the mod. This depends on how many players the map was designed for though. I like this idea because it would terminate this form of farming for sure. It would also eliminate those noobs that leave the server to get behind a player, rejoin, and shoot them in the back(Ghosting as they call it). When construction is added, people won't be able to ghost into a base either. It kills three birds with one stone. 2. My second idea is to put a lockout timer on Server transfers. It should be at least a day so people can't abuse it. It would take effect right after you transfer. This of course means the die hard farmers can still cheese farm once a day, which is why I don't like it as much. But, it would get rid of ghosters partially and still allow you to transfer if you'd like. I say partially because theres still the possibility of someone server hopping and loading in right behind a player for an easy kill. Once construction is in the game it will become an issue because you could scout someones base and hop in there the next day to loot it. Let me know which one you like best! Thank you for reading. :D
  10. I think your idea is unnecessary. Dean Hall said that he wants to make zombies more of a threat in Standalone. This will promote grouping rather than just killing every player you see because you will probably need help fighting zombies. Also, a variety of clothing will be in Standalone so it will be easier to identify players. I think these two factors will result in far less banditry if done right.
  11. I like the idea of a struggle, but I don't think any of you're ideas are good enough. I think it would be better done differently. Instead of making a cinematic struggle which nobody enjoys, simply give close range actions such as punching, blocking, kicking, grabbing (the ability to grab hold of your enemy and push them into objects if they don't resist), weapon grabbing/blocking, and throws. When a player grabs another, their movement keys are linked meaning any direction they move, the other player would as well. Preventing your character from being thrown around means you have to move in the opposite direction of the enemy. So if they grab you and are pushing you forward (w), that means you have to push them back (w). Using the sprint button while in a struggle would cause you to move faster or prevent yourself from being pushed back depending on what key you are pressing (WASD). If you don't stop them from pushing you forward quick enough while they are sprinting, you would not be able to resist. Moving to the left while you are being pushed back would not cancel out the enemies movement. Instead, the energy would be combined to move in a new direction. Same goes for the right. Moving your mouse would move your vision as well as the enemy you're struggling with. The same resistance function would work with this. A lot of different combos could be added with this system. For example, like grabbing someone and using a kick to knee them in the stomach or doing a sprinting punch to knock someone back or onto the ground. If you grab somebody from behind without a weapon you could put them in a choke hold..if you have a gun or a knife you could hold them hostage and execute them. There would be some way to counter it if they hold on to you too long.
  12. This is a very nice list. I love every idea that was on the OP, I hope most of it makes it in Standalone. I also hope the new map, Chernarus Plus is more realistic. Most Day Z gameplay ive seen takes place in the wild or in cities that are unusually small. I hope to see more big urban areas featuring buildings you would see in real life. For example:Hospitals, Grocery Stores, Apartment Buildings, Bars, Restaurants,Gun Stores, Police Stations,Office Buildings, Skyscrapers and more. Id also like to see a better variety of homes like Mansions and 2 story houses. It would also be very cool if you could go in the sewer system and use it as a safer way to get around the cities (assuming the cities will have a high amount of zombies). Another thing id like to see is environmental weapons like rocks, branches, chairs, fire pokers, frying pans, anything you could use in real life. I think there needs to be more items in houses and this would definitely help with that. I think Generators would be a nice addition once Construction is in to power electronics like lights, refrigerators to preserve certain foods, maybe even video cameras and sensors. Finally, zombies need to have better AI. They need to be a threat. Zombies should be able to break windows and climb through them including car windows. Furniture should be moveable so you can use it to reinforce windows and doors. This game has more potential than any other game ive seen,I hope it will be the best it can be.
