And that is absolutely fine! I encourage it because then it causes yet another aspect to the good guys mission. Protect it from you! Some servers wont have anyone doing anything, bad or good. It's just THERE if people choose to do it. Eh, you just sound like you are being negative just to be negative. I dont think just because you'd range if the server went down is a good reason to dismiss this. Servers will undoubtedly be much more stable later on AND private hives are known to even more stable. And there is more to power than just light. What if fuel pumps dont work without power, which they dont in real life as far as I know. How about plugging in massive searchlights and flood lights that you can point outwards from the city to illuminate the incoming hoardes and blind attacking bandits. -

Man the way they are handling this experimental branch is sad. ARMA 3 came out with daily updates and change logs. I know it's holiday break and all but certainly cant be too hard to write up a quick change log by whoever uploads it to steam. Also I never see any servers up to test the danm thing.

Why would anyone let themselves be robbed? If your life is only as valuable as your gear than once you lost your gear they might as well have shot you. I cant wait till other mechanics make your life worth more. Until then, why comply with those bastards. Go down fighting!

I'd like to agree with you that this is a certainty but Bohemia is known to be pretty lazy when it comes to the little details that really make a game polished and high quality. Also, is there an engine limitation here? Probably not right? -

Does anyone else think that walking/running sounds need to be higher in volume? I mean, I had a guy sprint at breakneck speeds a couple meters in front of me in the woods and heard NOTHING. I know it's ALPHA but just want to get that discussion out there. If someone is sprinting through the woods with twigs snapping and the echo off the trees you should be able to hear it from a decent distance. I usually play very stealth-fully, crawling against cover and such and there really isnt any incentive right now. Doors don't make sounds when they open, can hardly hear people running even on asphalt. I am a big advocate of the devs finding a way to add sounds to players touching chain-link fences and sheet-metal making a sound. doors opening. Maybe make it so you can open doors with a click or with the mouse scroll wheel to help with the noise, I dunno. The sound made from walking through the cattails and some types of bushes also need a volume boost. Better directional sound so we can pinpoint which direction these blundering-run ever- players are at. -

Hey bro, great job. Could you superimpose some sounds for player interaction with the environment? Just to see the concept in action? For example, Doors being opened, player moving against a chain link fence?? This game desperately needs more sounds that alert you to unstealthy players nearby. -

Wow dude, what a failed attempt to justify KoS. All you did was run up to people instigating them and practically asking them to kill you so you could claim no one is friendly. The second guy was clearly friendly but you wanted to be all up in his face saying how you cant kill anyone today and you could use your fist. You just seem diabolical as hell with unknown intent. Than you go running screaming friendly across the tarmac like a total griefer. Just because you happen to get shot by a sniper or something as your screaming friendly doesn't mean being friendly doesn't work. Hell even the first crew seemed like their main intent was to be friendly but the way you came at them was all wrong and they prob thought the minute you got your hands on a weapon you were going to plug them. Dude, play how you want to, but your little experiment was fail. Plenty of friendlies to encounter and you met plenty. All of whom you begged to kill you.

I think you are right. This is the American made M17, (M10M Czech Repub.) This is why I love making topics like this. You learn something everyday. Filters inside. Disregard thread. :) I'll play devils advocate here though and suggest you should still have to find and craft the filters to the mask in order to be effective. :) -

Whole-heartedly agree, Id love to see an overlay on first person view of gas mask eyelets Yah, looks similar, but uh, where are the filters?? The thing in the front is a voice box and canteen hose. The two outlets/inlets on the cheeks are for the filters. So I dont agree at this point. Your "czech" gas mask is actually the American M17, old as all hell, so I dont know the workings of it and whether you can breath out of it without the filter canisters inserted. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M17_gas_mask EDIT: Disregard, I really dont know, this is the only pic I can come up with?? Maybe the filters are are on the inside of the mask unlike the M50 that has them on the outside. -
While I applaud your reference to the S.I.T, a video game is not a realistic medium to test or simulate that theory. People do a lot of good things because of self interest as well. People mostly help people out and donate money to the poor because it makes them feel better. Most everything that helps someone does it because self consciously it benefits them in someway. Whether that be survival from death or a warm and fuzzy. Video games need certain mechanics implemented to simulate real world human interactions. I know that for me, in a end-of-world sitchu, I would not just shoot some random survivor (a Human Being) passing my home or "base" just for the lawlz. If said survivor turns his weapon towards my window or tries to knock down my door, well that's another story. I am sorry, but this whole "In a real end-of-world sitchu this is how is would really happen" BS is false and created by PvPers. 98 % of the gamers blasting poor bastards in their face when they are not a threat to them would NOT be able to pull the trigger in the same situation in real life situations. Luckily the divines have bestowed upon us = = Game Mechanics!

Ladies and Gentleman. What we have here is a traditional server hopper trying to protect it's natural territory from destruction. They'll wait 15 minutes if Rocket tells them they have to wait 15 minutes! Guaranteed! Gamers are naturally easily addicted. -

Third person view removal from SA discussion

I have noticed a stark decrease in the SA, I am happy to say. I had a guy in full "bandit" gear. You know, gas mask, camo, helmet not shoot me on sight. It was scary as shit to see him laying down in that garage with the drop on me. I ran away behind cover, said "fuck that was freaky" He asked if I was alone and from there we had a good buisness exchange of gear. I was then killed a few minutes later after clearing a military jail building. Someone came out of a room that 2 seconds ago was clear of enemies. Server hopping is the new KoS. ugh -

By your username I am going to guess you don't know the F you are talking about. You're an idiot. I bet the only use you have for a gas mask is to hot box yourself. Put an M50 on, take the filters off and try and breath. I hope you suffocate! The M50 has little air gaskets that will not let you suck air in if the filters are off, granted, the mask in the game may not be an M50. Sure looks like one though. -

Do you know the model? The model in the game looks very similar to the M50 but obviously I could be wrong. -
Getting close though lately. All this behind the back serverhopper killing. Huh? He explained how KoS tendency start in an individual. You fail. KoS in general started when a CoD player got a hold of the mod. Then described vicious circle commenced from there. What came first? the killer or the victim?? Deeeeeep.

Omg, the M50 are the same when sprinting. I was in full chem gear and had to run up 3 flights of outdoor stairs under "gun" fire. (Blanks) By the time I got up there with my combat load, flak vest with plate, chem suit and those stupid rubber boots I had to sit against a wall and rest for about 30 seconds before "engaging" the enemy. God I miss MILES gear. Now adays they more often use SimRounds. Unfortunately I am stateside now and not augmenting Security Forces. :(
