What do you think of fresh spawns being able to punch?

AGREED 100%. These things are meant to protect people from insane impact forces. It should be almost 0% knock outs even if we had dudes like Brock Lesner punching you. Hard plastic vs human small bones = Broken hand at full punch power. Anyone who said otherwise does not understand biology or physics. Now, that being said the % of knockouts should/could go up slowly/incrementally based on the blunt melee weapon but not by much. I feel like bats may have a chance at extreame speeds on the right part of the head. Pipe wrenches are heavier but smaller so don't have the same amount of force created by a large swing. An axe would probably crack the shit out of a motorcycle helmet on the first or second blow but only kill someone on the third if it fell right into the crack so accuracy would have to be a factor there. Shouldent be hard to implement any of these necessary tweaks, but as for the OPs "suggestion"......... -____- Really dude? -

What in gods name would possess someone to spend 30 dollars to hack at a game?? It doesn't even have leader boards? Why would you buy a game like this to cheat in it? What is the fun/drive to this? I just don't understand this. -
Thank god you aren't developing this game then. Also you are a KoSer as I have seen in various other posts so OF COURSE you don't like item degradation. You don't want to be punished for spraying. I cant wait till shit doesn't work after being ruined.

ALPHA had daily updates as well, but tomroadrunners point is valid. DayZ is a different kind of game. The server architecture makes fixing things more.....volatile. -

How is that max settings? You have HDR low, post processing and AO turned off..... -___- Unless everything is on as high as it can go and 100% resolution you aint max settings bruh.... AO adds a lil sumtin sumtin to the grass.

This general section is a medley of complaints, gripes, bug submitting, off topic rants, newbie questions and the like. It would be great to see a thread dedicated for suggestion of game mechanics and features. Sound, animations, textures, things to do ect. The problem is after a while even the hottest of threads get lost to the masses and the devs can only check so many threads and posts. It would be nice if we could make it easier for them to see some of the great ideas the community is coming up with and hear the desires of the masses so that maybe they say "Hey, that is awesome and feasible, lets do it." (Maybe you guys could even pin some suggestions that reach past 30 pages or something, I dunno)

To meet up ok, sure. But then scheming and plotting on teamspeak when in reality it should be broadcast to everyone in close proximity because realistically you cant just telepathically talk to one another and now your enemy or whoever doesn't know whats going on. Telling your friend to come in and ghost on people or whatever. That's why rocket is talking about whisper voip and in game radio channels. It will be great for those that want to play the game as intended, using in game mechanics. Do what you want, I cant stop you, but I hate meta-gaming personally. -

Teamspeak is a plague and as bad an exploit as gamma raising and server hopping in my opinion. All of sudden everyone in DayZ has telepathic abilities. So annoying. I know there is nothing that can be done though. -

I think the devs just need to put blood on clothing of those who handle a lot of dead bodies. Blood is absolutely everywhere when people are shot so if you are looting the crap out of someone than you are going to get blood on you to. So that way we don't need a mechanic to tell us how someone looks when we can actually see they have blood on their hands or clothes. -

I can't even tell you how annoying watching that stream is. ALL DEAN WANTS TO DO is play the game and talk over Brian and Matt who are talking about the game mechanics and the future. Dean constantly talks over everyone and ignores answering questions. Crazy annoying. Had to vent.... Annoyed to hear there wont be music from the sound of it. -

Is there anyway to draw Rockets attention to this? I cant even begin to tell you how important sound is to me. I think the single most important thing for me personally. Especially those awesome physical interaction things and doors. I feel like if they don't see this they wont even bother or think to implement physical interaction sounds, Anyone know i good way to get this to the devs attention? -

It's Bohemia, no amount of money they make will turn DayZ into a triple AAA quality game. The sound will probably suck if they dont take some suggestions from us. The animations will suck if they don't take suggestions from us and take time to redo animations. The non existent physics, will remain nonexistent, the list goes on and on. I have been disappointed by BI time and time again. The only hope for this project is Rocket, and the thing holding him back, is this engine that Bohemia refuses to do a MAJOR Overhaul on. In the end though, if they dont come out with a quality game the only ones we can blame is ourselves. We gave them our money. We chose to buy into this very very big long shot. -
Wow, I cannot believe some people in here are saying the zombie speeds are fine. Seem like PvPers that don't want the zombies interfering with their prey in their sights. Wrong, the zombies are impossibly easy to outrun. More of them will not make them more challenging unless they're faster, can knock us down, and are stronger. We need faster zombies. They are HUMAN being with some blood thirsty rage virus. So what if they run like their on meth? Anyway they should at the very least be fast as a human since well, THEY ARE HUMANS! Who has something to say against this? If they're humans then they should at LEAST be as fast as us if not more for their disease helping them in some way. End of discussion.

Yah, I heard about said, sound designer. I also was part of the ARMA 3 ALPHA and the amazing new sounds and sound engine we heard so much about really never came. They all still sounded quite amateur. So while I hope they get with the program after 14 million dollar revenue, I too think that Fortan has left us all stunned and is going to be a hard act to follow. -

Eh, the days survived was no good. For one it showed the days your character existed, NOT how long you actually survived. Lame as hell. I would love to see stats but much more in depth. Hours and minutes survived and ONLY the time in game. That way if leaderboards are implemented you cant just surge to the top by creating a fresh spawn, not moving him an inch and logging out for 2 months. Sadly, plenty of people would rather do this than play to get to the top of leaderboards. I cant even begin to understand but people love to cheat.

Well shit, look at Just Cause 2. That map IS HUUUUUUGE and it features ragdoll, good animations, physics for vehicles, decent texture quality, ambient occlusion and the list goes on and much to do. I just feel like there has got to be a way. I am in the Air Force, and have never actually rock climbed. I hike a lot in the mountains and have gone on marches through the same but never scaled a cliff. I have however repelled from a helicopter. That was fun. I think your idea is great. The advantages - Many. The risk - Should be big. Risk = Reward. The possibility of falling. The reward is now you have your tent set up on the cliff face or away from anyone else who does not have the required equipment. The more to do in this game the better. Like many have said, DayZ is FAR from a sandbox yet. A sandbox needs things for you to be able to do.
