  1. I understand its early in the game but what good is the leaderboard if I cant look myself up? I want to see how the game has recorded ME not everyone else. And Im sure a lot of other people dont care about my stats, but want to see theirs. Is there anyway to search my character ID?
  2. Fine, remove the leaderboards. But this is a SURVIVAL game where the end goal is to survive as long as possible. Im not want to demand, feel entiled or complain about new features but rocket, PLEASE add survival time AT LEAST to the death screen. This is not only an easy addition coding wise but also common sense for a survival game. Thats all I want.

    People don't realize how shitty a broken leg is now that you spawn without morphine. Although it is probably the rarest medical issue you face in DAYZ it is the most frustrating. Trust me. I crawled alllllllll the way back to chern from pusta. Took exactly 2 hours. Found the hospital and than BAM! dead. Dont let this happen to you. Post your thoughts so rocket implements a system where splints heal after an hour but you can only walk. And morphine gives you a 15 minute boost.

    Build 1.7.1 Rolling Update

    yup, there is not a SINGLE server running 1.7.1 that has 93701. Its messing everything up ALL ISSUES ARE CAUSED BY OLD BETA PATCH ON SERVER. Server admins update your beta. EDIT - NM im clearly confused. I DONT have the latest beta. But for some reason, side chat is visible again among other things on veteran servers. I thought sidechat was removed by dayz code and beta.
  9. I certainly understand that in this alpha state and with hacker around every corner that certain files cause problems. Let me just say however that with the JSRS sound mod this game took on a whole nother level of immersian. Distant gun shots sound like deep realistic thuds. This adds to the "oh shit factor" when your hiding from possible bandits. I played with JSRS and Dayz for several weeks on the various US HARDCORE servers. It has since been giving me errors. Not sure if this is because I have an outdated version of JSRS or if server admins deny it based on rockets guidance. And of course overall, vanilla arma sounds are atrocious. So again, just wondering if the plan is eventulley allow mods on top of dayz or if the script mechanics simply dont allow for sound mods? Thanks in advanced.
  10. Just wondering if we can have any insight into how the leader boards will work and when they are planned to be up? Is it a difficult situation to have near real time data from central server to the leader boards? I know me and a lot of others who could care less about main goals, objectives, or story driven replay ability, but this being a survival game, a no shit assessment of how long we survived and comparable data is deff desired. The ability to see shortest time alive, longest, average and current would be great. Kills, animals skinned, loot picked up is really just icing on the cake at that point. I imagine what may be taking so much time with the leader boards is scripting an easy and convenient way of searching for your own info and others. Also, this is more of a suggestion but a quick one, how about ONLY considering a players in game time as "survival time". Anybody can create a character and than leave it idle forever to top the leaderboards.

    Humanity murder kills etc are no good. Thats essentially telling you how someone plays when the mechanics in the game are so that you have to figure those things out yourself.

    Growing Food/Harvesting?

    This is great idea that will encourage civilizations, cities, and fortified solo player houses all around raising crops for survival. +1. Heres to hoping rocket sees and implements. Also I love the gout idea. That could be a negative to constant eating of red meat. I believe that what makes this game challenging and unique is the decision process. Negatives and positives to each decision made.

    The Ban TS3 thread!

    If any of you have read my previous suggestions and mechanics you will see i am strongly anti meta gaming. I hate that people have printed maps, but whatever, i hate that people Can just use a blood transfusion bag without in game training or studying. But most of all i hate meta communication. The global chat disable was a GREAT step in the right direction. I have seen wonders come from that. And now people who want to play right are able. The problem that still exists is that TS3 is cheating. Plain and simple. Players who are grouped up with friends theyv known for years on a private ts3 server are at an advantage. You need a radio or phone to communicate over long distances. If your character dosent have one. You have to relate to flashlight morse code and smoke signals. The solution is disable any ts3 possibility. Now i know your thing lmao thats not possible. Id think the only way would be hack every users personal computer and block ts3 traffic. And servers will never even see or be effected by ts3 traffic. I am a communicator by trade in the military. I dont kno everything though since i specialize in infrastructure. I dont delve to deep into software or what they call the application and transport layers. So really the point of this thread is to get the discussion out there for fun and 2 to see if any one out there more versed in networking as it applies to dayz knows of a way for servers (( only IF and IF they want)) could deny access to players using TS3? Maybe on hardcore servers only or something. An absolute force to use in game comm only. Maybe it a server can check the client for ports or sockets that are connected to TS ip addresses?? Fellow realist and hardcore network gurus help me out.

I have ran into 5 different people on US hardcore server where global chat is GONE. 3 of them traded and chatted with me openly and 2 just chatted with me about where we'd been where we were going and what we'd done. People are now getting lonely believe it or not. The silence is getting to people and causing them to chat and think twice before shooting out of fear. The bandits and griefers will probably still kill you on site. But its easier to tell the survivors now because those are the people who are playing the game socially and are dieing from the silence. This is best thing so far to happen to DAYZ. Awseome job rocket and BIS. Now just implement knoledge and book systems and radios and it will be on a whole new level. :)

    To those seriously interested in this stick around. Like i said vulvulf does not want this to die. He has ALOT of time on his hands since he is on break from school. Or you can go with publik. Mr "green beret" himself lol. Hes not very educated tho, he dosent know the korean war is still going on. I tell people im in the military so they know my real wolrd creditials idiot. The same way rocket does when he explains survivalist techniques. I know how to defend a base, i know tactical movement, doctrine and managment tecniques. What do you have? A trust fund and lawl cat posters?

    Publik what do u think this is man? Go somewhere else and play green beret trading post somewhere else. Go start your own. You dont need me to hand over reigns. But i will be handing the rains over to vulvulf. Hes been frequently active in this thread. I also suggested kurzistan, who i also met in game as the two leading the pack on this one. I will help them immensley as well but getting this off the ground is not my calling. Too many real life commitments and not enough patience for the bullshit of gamer forum subculture.

    I would genuinly love to see this headed up by someone with more time and expirience with online relationships and forum folks. I dont have the patience, time or desire. I am in the military and while i thought i had time. I really dont. Maybe if it were easier to find people with the same goals, vision and interest in this project. Without the whining, bitching, quitting and in game betrayel like getting shot and people "griefing" meetings and orginization. I would love to see this game expand with barter economy or survivor made currency. Like i said, i have the desire and interest and would love to contribute immensley. But starting a project like this in a hostile enviroment over 1s and 0s with people you dont kno and in most cases DONT want to kno, is waaay to time consuming. As i had already mentioned, i have never ran an online clan. The human dynamics are unbelievably different 1000s of miles apart, behind the guise of the internet. Managing flesh and blood humans has its challenges but is easier in a sense. Having the law behind you helps too. Lol but that goes for any real job And for the record the 2 guys i actulley did meet with in game can be the judge of my charisma personality and leadership. But these forums will mess with the strongest of mens patience.

    Well when you put it in the terms of waking up somewhere else i like the idea for some reason. But if you start as a diff person with a different level of knolege i would suggest anyone with enough work could essentially match, say, a doctors level of health skill. And if this was implemented it should be random assignment of class. Essentially you dont kno who or where u will respawn after death.

In the military theyda been kicked out or sent to levenworth. Charisma on the internet? Are you kidding? [hr'] I dont understand if you all are so into the idea and think you can do a better job this and that? Than WTF? why isnt their one yet?

    Dude, this has been suggested a million times so why would people just do it over and over again. Its just a class system, all you did was use the word archtypes. But ill just give you this, i personally would hate this because its not in line with the realistic approach. In RL noone is limited to what they learn based on some magical limit called class. (its more like money in RL). But you get what i mean? How about a system where you can train your player to learn certain skills? That way they are valuable for different things. It would reward those who seek out rare loot like books and pamplets that increase their skills.
