First off, someone should put spell checker in the topic title section, I almost put conscrutive. Onto why the thread was actually created. Now before you respond to this thread, I want you to actually read through every point I have made, and not just complain that I'm making a thread and it has the words "Feedback" and "1.7.7" Thanks. The Constructive Feedback. First I will talk about the most important part of the patch. Player interaction. While I believe that more difficult zombies would actually help with creating player interaction I feel that the infection buff has negated this. What I mean is, people are shooting other players for antibiotics. They're also shooting players because the player could be infected and they don't have antibiotics. There is really no reason to team up, because one of you are going to get infected, and then you're both going to be infected. More then one player also spawns more zombies in a town, which increases the threat of infection. You also need more than one antibiotic if you team up. Due to the infection spreading. New players I want to emphasize this point more so than others. DayZ already has a very high learning curve to playing the game, when the environment is more hostile than players I think that it may be just too much. I feel as if someone hadn't specifically watched tons of youtube videos, or tutorials on how to play DayZ, and they started in 1.7.7 they would play it for 30 minutes and then decide that the game sucks, because it is too difficult to start with no prior knowledge. I really want the DayZ community to thrive, and I don't want new players to be turned away because of too high of a learning curve. I also don't want zombies to be a piece of cake, but I feel that the infection is a key player in determining whether or not it's too high or too low. I really hope you can see from a new players perspective while reading this section, I feel that it is quite important. The Infection The infection is probably the only thing in this patch that really needs to be worked on. I'm going to talk a little bit about authenticity, and realism. While it's difficult to talk about realism in a zombie based game, it's quite easy to talk about authenticity. The Zed infection, is NOT the same infection that players get. This is clearly represented in the fact that no matter what happens to a survivor, he never turns into a zed. This is also strengthened by the fact that before 1.7.7 the most likely way to get infected was by eating raw meat, or drinking water that had not been boiled. If it were the same infection there would be no survivors. However, that doesn't mean that survivors are immune to all infections. Now onto what I think should be done to add authenticity. I don't think infection should kill, at least most of the time. In most cases it would take a very severe infection or something weakening your immune system for an infection to kill you, especially at the rate at which it currently does. I also think that infections shouldn't last forever, as in most cases they don't in real life. There are also problems with how you become infected. How often do you become infected from being punched? Almost never, unless the guy has ebola. Trust me, you don't want ebola. * You could possibly limit when the blood stops going down, or you could give survivors a chance to fight off the infection. * You could add a timer as to when an infection goes away, or you could make it random when an infection goes away. * To be infected the zombies must break skin. Ie. more likely to become infected when bleeding. * Increased chance to become infected when knocked out, due to zombies biting instead of smacking you. Please read before you post Please feel free to comment and state your opinions. Please keep it logical, and not something, like "I like it and it should stay." Back up your point of view, thanks. Edit. Also I suggest looking at R4Z0r49's post on the Infection, and it's work in progress. R4Z0R49 posted it below, but I was just making it easier to see. http://dayzmod.com/f...ion-wip-update/

Looking for a (Hero/Friendly Survivor) or a (Non-KoS Bandit) Origins clan, tribe or group to join.
Tehmedic101 posted a topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Hello I'm Tehmedic I'm 19 and I've been playing DayZ for about 8 months. I can't say I've been incredibly active in the 8 months, but that is when I started. However I'm fairly active now. I've started playing Origins about two weeks ago and it seems that the Origins style of play seems to be a bit more fun in a group setting. And the 1.7.5 update seems to improve on this even more. So I'm looking for a clan/tribe/group to join that is based around helping people and hunting bandits. I'm not looking for a super serious clan or anything either, just a bunch of relaxed people that are fairly decent at the game and understand how to get the most out of skirmishes as a group. Bandit groups are welcome to leave there info here as well, but if it is a bandit group I'm looking for a group that doesn't immediately Kill people on sight, and do actually do funny stuff with people. Such as kidnapping people, or asking people if they have morphine, and if they say no shoot them in the legs and run away, or other funny things. Basically a trolling squad. I also have a friend coming back after a week that might want to hop in one of these clans as well. Let me know if you guys have any questions, and leave your info on here please. -

Thanks for a response that's actually unique to this thread. However I'm probably going to keep looking, I do enjoy playing the hero role, but I also do like the challenge of having to deal with bandits. Unless you mean something else by PvE. Thanks though. -

Actual Constructive Feedback for 1.7.7

No but heat does affect how far sound travels. It would actually be significantly easier to hear at night, especially in a wooded area of the Czech, where it gets quiet a bit colder at night. It is kind of funny how it's reversed in DayZ though. -

To Everyone Complaining About 1.7.7

Here are some examples on what I think could be done to improve the authenticity of the infection. If you would like to see why I came up with these conclusions please view my thread here. http://dayzmod.com/f...edback-for-177/ Some of the reasoning behind it involves * Player Interaction * New Players * Authenticity * Realism Please don't allow this to derail the thread, and keep the comments on here though. Possible Solutions * You could possibly limit when the blood stops going down, or you could give survivors a chance to fight off the infection. * You could add a timer as to when an infection goes away, or you could make it random when an infection goes away. * To be infected the zombies must break skin. Ie. more likely to become infected when bleeding. * Increased chance to become infected when knocked out, due to zombies biting instead of smacking you. Age: 19 Location: South Dakota, USA Occupation: IRL Bandit. Lol jk. Timezone: gmt -5 (Central Time) How long have you played the game: 4-5 Months or so Which "DayZ" do you play? (Vanilla, Origins, Breaking Point, etc.): Vanilla, willing to try others if needed What is your favourite gun: Enfield, however I'm probably best with M14 or any AR. What is your playstyle: Tactical Positioning as a team, but if I'm playing solo I stalk the players for a while. What is your favourite role: Medium Range Gunner, Medic, Intel, Scout What are your strenghts: Intelligence, Adaptability, Persuasion (Trickery, Manipulation) What are your weaknesses: Slight lack of patience (Always want to do something) What is your in-game name: Tehmedic What is your Skype username: Tehmedic101 Tell me your favourite DayZ story that happened to you: The first vehicle my buddies and I ever found was a bus, but it wasn't just an ordinary bus, it was the magic school bus. Swear to god. Anyway, we running around in the woods and went over a hill and see this giant blue rectangle, one of my friends screamed "Holy shit it's a bus!" So we hopped in and everything was perfectly green, I looked at the wiki and I read that most vehicles need to be repaired. Slightly confused I just said screw it and decided to drive around with the bus. So we drove around while we waited for another friend to get on the game to pick him up, however we hadn't told him that we found a bus. Wanting to surprise him we kept it a secret and we we're going to drive up to him with it. So we told him to meet us at a gas station near the balota air strip. So we head down there and when we get to it we ask where he is and he doesn't respond, then we hear two loud shots and two of our tires get blown out and we hear him scream on skype "Holy shit guys I just stopped a bus!!!" Needless to say we were pissed, none of us had tires and we were thinking recklessly, so at the time we decided that if we couldn't drive the bus no one could! We shot out every tire, every window, and blew up the engine. We started bagging on our friend that shot the two tires and began to walk away. Suddenly we heard a loud *PAWP* and we whipped around thinking someone shot some really dumb sounding gun, instead the bus had fixed itself! We got back in the bus and drove around for hours hitting every possible tree, because we knew that the magic school bus would just pop back into shape whenever we broke it anyway. (Please remember, we were pretty damn nooby at the time, later we found out that it was a server glitch and every vehicle on server was doing it, despite that it was definitely a memorable moment) -
killing bandits should earn you their negative humanity reversed
Tehmedic101 replied to LeYuno (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
You're sitting in your house playing DayZ, all of the sudden you hear a thud and loud foot steps, someone has broken into your house. However due to an alarm the cops are notified, you don't have any weapons so you decide to hide under the table behind your chair in hopes that the robber doesn't see you. However when the robber enters your room, he sees you and is shocked because he thought that you had left your house earlier. He wasn't expecting someone to be there so he didn't have a mask on. In his eyes he needs to get rid of you or you're just going to report him for breaking into your house with a weapon. As he lifts his gun to shoot you, a cop rushes into your house and shoots the robber before he can fire at you. Is the cop a hero, a survivor, or a bandit? I don't know about you, but the cop is a hero in my eyes, and it seems pretty damn obvious. However more on topic, I don't think that shooting someone to protect someone is as heroic as shooting someone to steal from them is evil. I think that killing bandits should give some humanity, but not the same ratio that bandits get negative humanity. Edit, whoops necro... -
