Well you know, as of right now this is mostly for DayZ. But when we get settled in I wouldn't mind branching out to other games ;) -

Need Medical Assistance in the Mod? Find a medic here!
unkillable94 replied to Dr Wasteland MD's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Kichilron is by far one of the coolest DayZ players I've ever met, I play on a private hive and he came all the way up to NWAF on a fresh character to help me out, gave me blood and morphine and had some gear he was going to give me too but unfortunately his body bugged and disappeared. Even still, the whole operation from adding him on skype to getting the help lasted 3 hours with some breaks here and there for him to get to NWAF, but he never complained once and insisted on doing it. Definitely recommend him for anyone in need of aid, he goes above and beyond what I expected of a medic who asks for nothing in return. -

A: Your in-game name: [iAF] Pvt J. Brown B: Your condition/ailments: Broken legs, low blood, out of bandages, likely in pain C: Your location - be specific: server 70.34.194.170:2302, on the dirt road between Grishino and NWAF. Slightly up the hill from Grishino, at the time of this posting there is a heli crash site within range. Provides a nice smoke cloud relatively close to my location. D: A general description of your character: normal skin, white sleeves. Coyote pack, armed with an M16A2 M203 Any help would be much appreciated, I ran out of morphine in a server rollback and I am closer to NWAF than I have been in any life, but my legs were broken and my blood is low. This means a hell of a lot to me. Thanks in advance. Funny how irony works, I'm a combat medic for the International Armed Forces clan and I ran out of morphine... -
So I fell in love with Chernarus the first time I played DayZ and have stck with it. But with SA so (hopefully) close I imagine I will spend a good amount of time on it, and to give myself a reason to keep using the mod I will be exploring new maps. Any suggestions on which map(s) I should check out first, and any tips I should know? I've seen a few different maps in Frankie's videos but I'm not sure the pros and cons of each, as well as community opinion.

Need help in terms of new maps
unkillable94 replied to unkillable94's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Okay, thanks all. I'll be over at a friend's house later today for a 24 hour DayZ marathon, and I'll be sure to check those out :D -
In the extremely slim chance it is today, you would have to buy it from Steam and download it.
-
Honestly, if it was where the mod was a few months ago I would be happy. At least we could watch it grow again,
-
Plus a couple years down the line when everyone is playing it, you have the chance to be one of the people who can still say "I was here the day it dropped."

limb bandits scare me 0.o
unkillable94 replied to synnyster tick's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It might be cool just for the fact that if I see someone running around carrying multiple limbs, I can pretty much assume they're a bandit and kill them. -
I committed my first murder...need advice/consoling

I like how everyone is equating ghillie guys with the more violent side of DayZ, my friend used to run ghillie suits all the time and never once raised a gun on anyone. He was one of the most level-headed guys I played with, he coordinated 6 random strangers to escape a hostage situation unarmed and still never harmed anyone. Ghillie means stealth, not violence. In fact I prefer ghillies when I'm trying to be friendly, hiding in a bush with it gives them less of a chance to kill me after I call out if they do turn out to be not-so-friendly. -
No doubt you're a bandit, no matter what game I'm playing be it DayZ, Minecraft, or some FPS like CoD or BF3, if I'm bored with my group or we're not progressing, I tell them it isn't working out, wish them luck, maybe leave some stuff with them, and be on my merry way. I don't bury an axe in some poor guy's face for no reason. Everyone is a survivor, but by ending that guy's life for an easy weapon you solidified your position as a low-life bandit. (Those who get into groups and then destroy them from the inside out, whether you planned it all along or not, are the worst imho.)

A lot of high end mods maintain their own wikis, I've only been on DayZ for a few weeks so I haven't checked into the wiki.
-
I had no idea it was unnoficial, how the hell should I know? And I assumed the Facebook page was official because they're posting updates as the devs release them, most unofficial pages just post shitty memes.
-
From the DayZ Facebook page.
-
Rocket has said the 5th is a possibility.
-
You do realize it will be $30 max according to Rocket, and the first release will be much cheaper.
-
That's where it starts to get fun, I had 4 ghillies but no weapons or food, ended up getting an AKM with ammo and quite a few cans of beans in exchange for them. People seem to think ghillies are really valuable. But hey, their loss my gain.
-
A phrase I advocate is "I'm a bandit, not an asshole." What are opinions on kidnapping people, but instead of leaving them, bambi or veteran, taking them to Cherno or Elektro and giving them a weapon, ammo and a bit of food? I hate people who kidnap people and leave them defenseless in the middle of nowhere, especially if that person is a bambi and was unarmed when kidnapped. Am I alone in this?

Opinions on letting people go
unkillable94 replied to unkillable94's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I find it extremely easy to get away from robberies. If you're smart you travel in groups, and whenever I'm forced to go into town I always have at least 1, sometimes multiple buddies up on a hill watching me. The most recent there was a guy behind me and a guy in front of me. Normally if I had shot the guy in front of me the one behind would have had no problems killing me and bandaging his buddy, and he knew it so he just stood in front of me taunting me trying to get me to shoot him. We coordinated so that as soon as I heard my friend take his shot I opened up on the guy in front of me.
