    Defensive Flood Lights

Like you said its already in ArmA 2 so if they could port them over that would be awesome.

    What's Your Favorite Gear-Out?

Forgot about the hatchet, on low pop servers if I'm going to NWAF I drop my primary and grab a hatchet, best zombie killer in the game. (And player killer, if used right)
  3. unkillable94

It's just how it works... ...Lingor

Nice story, that's exactly why attack helis are too overpowered for DayZ. Assholes get them and can terrorize an entire server until someone (hopefully) puts a stop to it.

    What's Your Favorite Gear-Out?

I like having something that works well fending off zombies but at the same time can off a bandit, my dream loadout would have to be an M4A3 CCO SD (maybe a G36 now if the SD variant is available) and M9 SD with an M40 in my bag just in case.
  5. We will likely start 1-2 hours later, we'll shoot for 1 hour later so try to be there half an hour after it was supposed to start last week.

    Ethics of a Bandit?

I was arguing my point the whole time, he tried to throw in the whole Marine thing out of nowhere. My point is people like him ruin the game, they're turning it into a giant CoD deathmatch.

    Ethics of a Bandit?

No, but you do need to be pretty smart to get into Recon. Anyone can use a gun but it takes skill and intelligence to zero a rifle from 800 meters, calculate bullet drop, wind, and multiple other factors and then land a round on target on the first shot. And just FYI, this is really basic, you don't pull a trigger. Every Marine knows that from when he first steps on the range.

    Ethics of a Bandit?

Again, hard to believe that you could get 2 years into college in the state you're in, I've yet to see you form a complete sentence and most professors would rip their eyes out reading that. You still haven't given me your supposed MOS either, and if you haven't even been on deployment I highly doubt you would make it through training, even if you got into RIP and made it through its not something you just drop to go to school. Once you are in Recon its intense. And no, I'm not a Colonel. That rank is from my clan. I'm an A1C preparing to ship to OCS and flight school.

    DayZ Newb Guide

No, no, keep going. Keep proving my point. He's a Staff Sergeant, by the way.
  10. unkillable94

    Ethics of a Bandit?

No, he's some 12 year old kid trying to make himself look tough. I know recruiters and DIs and am part of the military myself, I've seen people like him at basic before, never last more than 3 days. But if I'm wrong, care to tell me your MOS, unit, where you are deployed, etc?

    DayZ Newb Guide

Funny, I'm 20 as well and I have friends actually training for and in Marine Recon. That is the elite of the elite, and judging by your post and what a friend of mine who was a DI has said, you wouldn't even make it past the footprints.

    Ethics of a Bandit?

Your opinion is that being a hero doesn't pay, fair enough. I guess you can't get deep enough into a game to see that its not some CoD deathmatch. My opinion is that backstabbing "bandits" like you ruin the game, and I'm sure most veteran players would agree. The next time you see a bambi I hope he blows your brains (and falsely gotten ego) away with a makarov, but I guess you sit on sniper hill with that DMR of yours because you're too scared of actual conversation. I'll try to speak a bit more on a level you can understand... 1v1 me bro.

    DayZ Newb Guide

Believe me, I'm being much more mature about this than you are. Am I detecting some anger in your posts? Are you grumpy because its past your bedtime? I understand completely, its fine. We were all there once, years and years ago. And its grammar, by the way.
  14. unkillable94

    Ethics of a Bandit?

Yes, but when your opinion is completely stupid and ruins the game we have every right to tell you off, look around and most people here would likely put a bullet in your "pro bandit" head because of your playstyle. PS - you misspelled "reign" in your own signature.

    DayZ Newb Guide

That is why you're an idiot, that made absolutely no sense. You like to stab people in the back after befriending them and can barely form a coherent sentence so I'm guessing you're, what, 12? 13? Go back to CoD please, we don't want your kind here.

    Ethics of a Bandit?

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the cause of DayZ's problems.

    DayZ Newb Guide

You're one of the narrow minded idiots ruining this game. lol. That's all that post warrants as a response.

    DayZ Newb Guide

Yeah, you pretty much just said run straight through. "Also sneaking around zombies is for retards, real men run everywhere" And bandits don't kill everything on sight, douchebags do. Real bandits are more creative than just killing anything that moves, even if its an unarmed bambi. And that video... 1. You named it "cckane blows at dayz." That has nothing to do with it, I doubt you've seen the guy play but we have now seen you play. 2. That first shot. Holy shit, that was easy. But you rushed and botched it. 3. You ran up in the open, didn't even crouch. If someone had been watching you would have been an easy kill. 4. Neither of those kills took any skill. One guy was proned looking away the other was helpless on the ladder. 5. The Enfield does 6722 blood. People have 12k starting out. You have no idea what blood those guys were at, they could have easily been lower than 6k hence the 1 hit kill. 6. Normally a head shot will 1 hit kill, a body shot will knock them out. I'm a hero and I am still a better "bandit" than you. We have a term for people like you who go around killing everything and turning the game into a deathmatch. It's not bandit, but CoD kiddie.

    DayZ Newb Guide

You're teaching bambis to kill on sight, fuck you. That and the fact that you tell them to run straight through zombies and not avoid them proves in the first two sentences that this "guide" is a joke.
  20. unkillable94

Ever gotten killed just for having the bandit skin?

I kill bandits on sight in cities because I have to assume you're killing the bambis I've sworn to protect. If we're up north and I see you unless you are super-kitted with an OP weapon like the AS50 I will leave you alone. If you aim at me, come near our base, or are near something valuable (ie a refueling heli, etc.) I will kill you. If you don't know I'm there and you don't start wandering in my general direction or somewhere I will be going, I will let you live.
  21. Hello, I am Col Brown, and I am the CO of the 8th Infantry Division, an Arma/DayZ tactical military clan. We are currently stepping up our recruitment effort, but before you commit to something you probably want to know a little about it. 8Inf was created on 5 January, 2013 and at first it was just myself and a few other guys. We've slowly been growing since. We are primarily a DayZ clan, but have been branching out into the Arma 2 multiplayer missions and armory as well as the Wasteland mod more recently. We have a presence online daily despite our small numbers. We do not have any requirements other than being mature to keep our playerbase at its current, high level of maturity. Military background of some sort is taken into consideration, but do not expect to be at a disadvantage if you don’t have it. As long as you pull your weight you will have no problems. Speaking of that, let’s discuss advancement. It is very easy to advance in 8Inf if you are a good asset to the clan. How does one get noticed for promotions? Make yourself known. Are we at base waiting for a group to return or waiting for something else? Strike up a conversation, me and Unser are not unapproachable, we’re just guys playing DayZ like you. Hell, if you want a promotion to a certain position ask for it. Most clans would punish you for being so straightforward, but we welcome that so long as you don’t spam us. We see it not as begging (unless you do actually beg. Pro tip: that doesn’t work) but as having the initiative to step up to the plate and ask. If we like your track record we’ll give you the spot on a trial period, and if you do well we will promote you and officially give you the position. We specialize in tactics, when you join you will be asked to choose one of three MOS's: infantry is our basic frontline member, taking the fight to zeds and bandits alike. Recons are our eyes, ears and swords, operating in teams of 2-3 to gather intelligence and take down long range targets. Resource managers are the life-blood of the clan, bringing us all the supplies we need and making sure the base is organized and ready for action. We already have a record of filling the power vacuum on some servers, establishing a base and showing our muscle to dominate the server in a passive way. You heard that right, we are a passive clan. We are not friendly to outsiders most of the time, but we are not aggressive either. Let me be clear though, if you mess with us or the bambis on the server, we will fuck you up. You have been warned. In our short history, we have performed operations using deception and subterfuge to take out 5 targets of interest, the details of which must remain confidential within the clan to protect future operations. What I can say, however, is that if you wrong us in a significant way expect to become another statistic. If 8Inf seems like something you would be interested in, register and put in an application at 8inf.enjin.com or come to our teamspeak at vs9.tserverhq.com:9034 and poke either myself or Capt. Unser and we will move you into one of our rooms and talk with you. If nobody is online at the time, as may happen if we are all at work or in class, send one of us a message on our site and we’ll get back to you ASAP. But what is 8Inf, you might ask? Obviously it stands for the 8th Infantry Division. If you’re a history buff, the 8th ID was a US Army division active between 1918 and 1992. But why call it 8Inf and not 8ID? There is another clan out there, 1ID for the 1st Infantry Division and we did not want to create confusion. For a more complete history you can see the Wikipedia page, but as for the clan itself here is some basic information: -We use a US Marine Corps ranking structure. The ranks are: -Private, Private First Class, Lance Corporal, and Corporal are the basic enlisted ranks. -Sergeant and Staff Sergeant are our junior non-commissioned officers (NCO) -Gunnery Sergeant, Master Sergeant, and Master Gunnery Sergeant are our senior NCOs -First Sergeant is a variant of Master Sergeant, and Sergeant Major is a variant of Master Gunny, the two are in order the second highest and highest ranked enlisted members of the clan. -Second Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, and Captain are the junior officer ranks -Major, Lieutenant Colonel, and Colonel are senior officer ranks. -There are two general officer spots for the top leadership of the clan. There is no difference between these ranks and the rank of Colonel other than being able to tell the leadership apart from the rest of the senior officers. The Executive Officer (XO) is the second in command, and his rank is Brigadier General, otherwise known as a 1-star General. The Commanding Officer (CO) is the clan leader and is a Major General, more commonly known as a 2-star General.

Is the term "bandit" losing meaning?

I'm in a similar spot to you, after I got back and saw what banditry had become, reformed and have been a hero ever since. I agree completely, those first few days I got kitted up in full military gear and only killed one person, just set up a road block between balota and cherno, when someone would come we would blow out their tires. We would repair it for them in exchange for gear - not everything, just something here and there. It added up. The only person we had to kill stupidly got out of his car and with an ego boost his CCO SD gave him opened up on us and we had to fire back.
  23. unkillable94

    Betrayed in HD

You're a piece of shit, the only people I dislike more than coast snipers are those who befriend people and stab them in the back. That was a kill devoid of any skill or effort and you are a douche and a coward for pulling it.
  24. Updated, there are still 4 open slots for teams. If there is no interest in the hostage idea we will change it to a VIP situation, same setup as this but someone (myself or another 8Inf officer) will take the place of the hostages and the goal will be to kill us and recover a certain item.
  25. unkillable94

    I disagree with this suggestion

I agree to an extent, the hardcore community is one constant "OMG ITS TOO EASYMODE QQ MAKE IT HARDER" and while I would not mind the game being a bit harder, if they had it the way they wanted it it would be so hard to survive that 90% of the population would leave. That is not a good business decision nor would Rocket want the mod losing a lot of its players after all the work he has put into init and its current success. There is a difference between realistic and impossibly hard, and there needs to be that cutoff. For everyone trying to make it as realistic as possible, reality sucks. Why else do you think we created video games?
