The server I play on does something different. It still asks for donations, but instead of getting items spawned for you, an admin will tell you where an item it, or the general area. For example, say 10 dollars gets you an AR whenever you want. The admin spawns a crate with an AR in it in a hidden location and tells the guy to go to some town's outskirts and find it there.

I wouldn't want to play a game where unarmed players were treated like kings. Everyone should be entitled to their playstyle in a sandbox game, whether or not it pisses off people. I don't want to play a DayZ where I can run through Cherno and not have to worry about snipers or pvp, because I don't have a gun. Being a newspawn is about avoiding combat, not diving through it with immortality.

I'm content with an M4A3 CCO and a G17. In a prefect world though, I'd have a DMR along with an M4A1 SD. I'd keep the G17 though. That thing's awesome.

Just about all the shottys. Low damage slug and low range or unspeakably high damage at low range. Bleh. I don't get all the hate for the Enfield though. I'd drop a CZ for one.

Dude, about half of that list of things are intentional. You really can't play DayZ without PvP because without the threat of people, the game is L4D on a large scale.

It's kind of fun to see new players fail at banditing. Once in Electro, I was in the supermarket, hiding from a guy with a lee enfield looting bodies. Just as he was about to turn the corner behind a shelf, Ballsy McG17 runs in, shot the guy 5 times in the chest and runs away after being hit in the chest. I jump into side chat, tell Lee Enfield guy to hold still and that I would go after Ballsy. Lee Enfield guy tries to kill me. I shoot him once to knock him out, and bandage him. I then moved on to the PowerstationFirestation. During the long crawl over, I'm suddenly being shot at, but each shot misses. I run over to the gate, listen to a couple more shots, and realize that this guy is Ballsy, on the top floor of the firestation. He's as dumb as Skyrim AI though, and I hide behind the gate for about a minute and the guy continues to watch the market. I climb up the Powerstation and shoot him on the back from the roof. He's dead in one hit. I kept his G17 for about 5 days before a hacker nuked everyone.

I use it fine, but DayzCommander doesn't seem to like it. It says my DayZ data is corrupt, even though it isn't.

I kinda like the DayZ KOS. While it can be a bitch if a dude with an M14 and ghillie is camping a coast road, fighting other players is the entire reason other people play. Face it. If we didn't have PVP, why bother to team up? There is hardly an mutual protection. There isn't any risk in teaming with some newspawn in Cherno. Its no fun. The fun of DayZ is the unknown, the "Do I turn around and trust him" feeling. Remove that, and this game spirals down to a L4D style game, on a larger scale.

[NEW] - Crossbow Quiver added - 6 arrow mag size. This is awesome. The crossbow might not have to be a paperweight anymore! I just hope they improve the sights on it though. No use if I cant hit anything with it! :P

xianyu, if not a sniper, what else do we have to anti-heli tools? They removed the rocket launcher because it never really worked. Are you suggesting that we resort to firing our DMRs and M4s into the glass waiting for the year that it finally shatters?
