The Infection is permanent until cured.
montauk replied to Gravelsack's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Having the infection spread to your future characters makes no sense. They're not the same person and likely never had contact with your previous character. bottom line this idea is dumb. -
Tried to install the beta patch
-
I don't even know how I could turn it into a suggestion. how about um....removing chat history!!
-
haha oh god this is hilarious.

Who really gives a shit what FOX NEWS of all things say? DayZ isn't only in the U.S. you know. For this idea, I don't really think it would be needed. Just say you're gay or something and be done with it

Encouraging Direct Communication: Sanity Meter
montauk replied to kaffaljidhma's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
People should understand what a RPG is. You cannot decide everything. You have to make a distinction between what is completely yours to decide and what comes with the nature of your character. Still, this idea isn't that great. Except DayZ isn't a fucking RPG, its a Sim. If it's the sim part you have a problem with, you could make the argument that humans are social animals and need to communicate to preserve mental health. Some people contend that this need is of comparable importance to other biological needs and results in actual negative health manifestations when neglected. That's what a psychologist/psychiatrist would say, anyway. I live just fine without everyday social interaction. It all depends on the type of human being you are. If you want to seek survivors then you will seek survivors. I don't need the fucking game trying to force me to think a certain way. -

-.- And may the beans be with you, young bandito.

It'd certainly give me an even bigger sense of realism.

I didn't. I would have never bought Arma 2 if it wasn't for the mod. Lost all interest for the franchise after OFP Cold War Crisis and its expansions. Even now' date=' Arma doesn't even come close to how good that game was. [/quote'] Too bad then. Because as it stands you still bought CO. You never paid a dime for DayZ, only for CO which DayZ is a modification of. Just because you paid just for DayZ doesn't mean you paid for DayZ.
-
This is actually a really good idea. I'd love to see something like this implemented ingame.
-
You didn't pay for DayZ. You paid to play ArmA 2: CO and the Mod is basically a fucking bonus.
-
Go play the proper game because you didn't pay anything for the mod.
-
Stop. the game shouldn't decide how I feel as a character. My accuracy would waver if I were actually shaking in real life [which I always am after a fresh kill or 5.]

Encouraging Direct Communication: Sanity Meter

Wow, a totally unoriginal idea! Don't tell me what my character is thinking. I am the character, not the game. -
But the most part I like about the game is the fact that I can just walk up to a player and blow their head off :

Encouraging more co-operation in the mid-game

This rarely happens.. in the worst case (in my experience) they will run the same because it hits the CPU limit.. but in most case lower resolution = higher FPS. In your case 1080p should be an OK resolution for your config. ArmA 2 runs just fine without DayZ. It's only when I try to play the mod that my FPS drops like crazy to ridiculous levels. In fact I can have some settings set higher than the lowest in vanilla ArmA 2.

That depends on what your other pieces of hardware is, mainly the CPU. This is how it works. The lower the Resolution the more CPU is used (processor) The higher the resolution the more GPU is used (Graphics) So having a Strong GPU means its best to have a higher resolution. Having a Strong CPU but weak GPU, better to have it a notch below the native resolution, like 1600x900. Would have been great to know that as my cpu is weak [Core 2 Duo @ 2.13GHz] so basically native should theoretically run better than the 1024x768 resolution?

Special zombies are stupid. Especially when rocket has decided this will be a sim. End of discussion.
