I'd like this. Of course they should be rarer and antibiotics could require you to take one per hour for maybe 3 or 4 hours. -
Actually, my issue with GPS is that it gives you coordinates instead of showing where you are exactly in the map. Pretty much any modern GPS does this (and they are not military grade !). Many even tell you which direction you are facing :/ (My Tomtom does :P) Hell, with a GPS you shouldn't even need a map anymore !

Just keep in mind that nothing is worse than getting killed by something random and invisible in a game. It's probably the #1 frustrating factor ever ! (closely followed by QTEs) Like for example "There are now brain strokes in Dayz. Your character has 1/1000 chance to die instantly, which can happen at any time." EDIT: What I mean is that things outside the player's control should not cause him/her to die. If the conditions for getting sick are so subtle that you have no idea you are in danger it'll probably make you feel as if it was a random thing that happened to you and you never had a choice. Like getting struck by lightning. -
But I don't play Arma... except to practice my chopper skills.

The problem I see with this is that your negative experience with Minecraft constant additions is not objective at all. I myself still enjoy the game (since alpha) so the analogy isn't valid to me. I'd love to see DayZ taken to minecraft lengths. I don't see how more content could detract from a game unless it's content that limits/gets in the way of existing gameplay somehow. -
Yup, I do agree that this would be seen as a joke and it would only detract from the feeling of dread and suspense the game currently has. Apart from being every griefer and troll's wet dream.

I'm not talking about changing the core game. Custom servers are the exception to the rule, the "other" rulesets. The official gamemode always has the most players. If someone truly enjoys the starting Makarov then what's the problem with that ? Most will still play "the real Dayz". -

As long as you can tell which servers are official and which are not, I don't see any harm done. At all. Maybe I agree with the server admin and I think playing with nothing but pistols will be fun. I think it's good for everyone and it makes the game grow as a whole. Keeps it from getting stagnant. More options = better. -

The problem with slow moving zombies is that they'd need tons of them or they wouldn't be a threat. I would really like hordes of slow zombies that make you run out of ammo quickly, but I think it might not be possible (at least with this engine :( ). What they need to get fixed ASAP is their stupid movement patterns and stuff... Pointless zigzags. Jerky/glitchy movement. Moving slowly inside buildings. Random teleports into melee range. Attacking through walls. That kind of thing. -

I guess it's an exploit. But where do we draw the line ? Drawing zombies into buildings is also taking advantage of their indoors speed nerf, just like getting inside a bush so they can't hit you (I don't mean the usual hiding for those who don't know about it), or on top of a pier so they can't get near you. I'm not defending this log-out-when-in-danger thing, but I'd like to know when an exploit is exactly frowned upon, how do we decide ? (For example, I assume the m1014 shotgun shell refilling bug is totally frowned upon). EDIT: I have been using SD mags in non suppressed weapons because zombies don't seem to be able to hear those shots (which are as loud as any other shot). Is that an exploit too ? It's interesting to try to decide what's an exploit and what is fair in an unfinished game :I -

He does have a point though. A box of matches being the same size of a knife, that's the same as a bandage, that's the same as a can of soda, that's the same size of a crossbow bolt and an epi-pen ? :P Also, why do I have to put bandages in my belt (is it my belt ?), and I can't put them in the same inventory morphine and primary mags use ? Why can't I put an M16 mag in the same spot I put my PDW mags ? It feels arbitrary and ridiculous. -

Please, read. I was replying to a post that claimed knowledge of the genre. Have you watched any zombie films at all ? The bad guys never make it. Even in the ones that started the whole zombie thing. Even in the Walking Dead comics. -
