i've had some pretty good experience with corsair and their stuff seemed reasonably priced, but i'm afraid to try new stuff either... still shopping a bit. about the tower... XD... other than the older vs newer and looks, whats wrong with the case i have? I may just save up for the better tower and a wireless card, but idk yet. -

so i've always wanted to build my own computer, but never really tried... i like pc gaming, but my laptop can't handle it. i bought a tower from a thrift store about 5 yrs ago for $10 and never really messed with it... so there's the case, boot drives, and general external hardware. that tower is kinda useless with a intel pentium III processor with 2 cores, rage pro agp vid card, 512 mgb of DDR2 ram, no pci-e slots whatsoever, and no marking as to who made it or a legitimate OS... so i'm wanting to re-build, but i've never done a build before, this will be my first. will this list of components work??? 800w, 120 mm fan ATX power supply 12v 2.3 SLI ready, PCI-e SATA 20/24 pin gigabyte ga-h61m-ds2 lga1155 intel h61 micro atx motherboard Intel core i5 2400 Quad Core 3.1 Ghz 6 mgb cache lga 1155 Western Digital Blue 750 GB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA III, 64 MB Cache Asus 24xDVD-RW Serial ATA Internal OEM Drive DRW-24B1ST Gigabyte GV-R775OC-1GI AMD Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 DVI-I / D-SUB / HDMI PCI-Express 3.0 Graphic Card ... again, this is my first build, i've already got the case, i really just need to know if what i picked out will work with each other? all items i found on amazon.com and can provide links on request . -
i've got Win7, intel i3, and i use a laptop with integrated intel (shit) graphics. tht explains alot by itself, but i was thinking that i could still run that game as is... i tried disableing hyperthreading in the bios, but couldn't find it anywhere in my bios. idk if you can install a vid card in a laptop, but let me if it is possible because i'd rather spend $400 on a good graphics card than $4000 and a new gaming rig "just for dayz". it ran arma 2 free just fine... idk why it wont run arma oa

i tried that tutorial and i don't have a dayz prest on six updater for some reason. pretty aggravating, but i reinstalled six launcher, updater and got another +5 fps or so... still not happy tho.

ok... my specs first Acer Aspire 5742 intel i3 m370 2.4 ghz integrated 300 gb of hdd 8gb of ram Win 7 home 64 bit i have the problems as most.. i paid $30 for ArmA 2 CO jsut for DayZ and now i have issues with the framerates. i've been seeing anywhere from 5 to 15 FPS and have tried everything from ramdisk to changing the gpu values as well as ingame vid options... nothing works. i keep my system defragged regularly as well as run gamebooster which doesn't seem to help any. i run the game on the lowest settings as it is and only hit 30 FPS when i look at my feet. i realize i don't have that great a computer, but theres no reason the game shouldn't work? any suggestions? i plan on re-installing DayZ to see if i can get it to work any. and if that doesn't work maybe save up and just by a $1000 dollar gaming rig. lol btw, i run manually without steam... tried steam with other games and hated it... not the games, just steam

i have the EXACT same issues... i paid $30 for arma CO to play dayz and now i get like 5-14 fps everywhere i go... i've tried setting the values to zero, using RAMdisk, messing with the ingame settings... everything, but when i look at the ground everything runs smooth. my specs are: acer apire, intel i3, 2.4ghz, m370 chipset, 300gb hard drive, Win 7 home, and 8 gb of ram i use six updater and am about to re-install either arma, dayz, or both to see if i can get it to work any better.
