Try updating to the latest drivers, if that doesnt help, or worsens it, rollback to an older version.

It doesn't change the fact that ArmA II is poorly optimized. Updating to the latest drivers won't do jack. In fact from what I saw there are drivers built in the new GPUS automatically so you don't need to waste your time updating it manually. It just updates automatically(with permission if requires any). God. Everywhere I go where a user asks for help it's just "update your drivers". Like that will help. Give it up.

I own a GTS 250 (2 actually) and I tried running ArmA II free and it lags on medium. That GPU is old.

It is the graphic card.

In terms of raw power. The GTS 250 is twice as powerful as the GTS 450.

But the GTS 450 is overall better since it's newer and has DirectX 11 while the GTS 250 has DirectX 10.

I think many people just don't realise what an alpha/beta etc entails. (In fact I probably don't know the exact meaning myself and I *am* amazing.), hence people becoming fed up with broken features etc.

I understand OP's pain, but If I were he, I'd wait for the SA.

Are you kidding me? You guys are still using the "it's only alpha/beta" excuse? This is the worst reason ever.

It's because of the engine. It's being forced to do something it wasn't made for. Until Rocket makes a clean engine for the SA then glitches will happen every update even if you don't like it. Even if the mod makes it to full release, it will still have a lot of glitches.

Ya know, even if they only make this game $10 if a fraction of the people that currently play buy it they will be making millions of dollars. And I don't play, but I know I will be purchasing this very early on. So add on the hundreds of people who didn't buy Arma 2 but will buy this.

Noting how Rocket said he will follow the minecraft process I'm guessing the game will be anywhere form $5-$15 during Alpha and Beta and then when the game reaches full version release it will be more than $25.
