    I think this is a great idea , although I would go a bit further and "punish" new spawns with extreme cold ( the shakes ) , amnesia ( it doesn't announce where you spawn ) and perhaps even an infection or wound , for good measure . Your first half hour or so isn't going to be spent running to barns to axe people in the face , it's going to be spent staving off imminent death , then running to barns to axe people in the face .

    What I propose is , you start out at level 1 ( let's call it "sickly" ) then after playing good and stuff , you will reach max level 10 ( let's call it "healthy" ) . Then if you die , you have to go back to level 1 , and play good again to reach level 10 . The only difference between them is the wording .

After getting whitelisted today , on the BB au whitelist server , and playing for 3 - 4 hours , I must in all honesty say , that was the most desync and glitchy server experience I have had , in quite some time . After quite regular red chains , zombies spawning erratically , a server crash , a few roll backs and the eventual glitch crash of my vehicle on the middle of an open road ( something which i have not experienced on any server in a long time , and i play a lot ) , I felt I was pushing a turd cart uphill . I am not saying this to be rude , but after this , it seems there is no way i could play on this server in any meaningful way , and i would like to , since it seems like a decent community , with a hacker free environment .

    While I am not against this idea , it's simply the terminology that has people stoked about this idea , which is effectively the same as gaining ability X or Y , the longer you live , which many people are not happy with . There is no practical difference between simply gaining abilities the longer you live , or starting out sickly and gaining abilities the longer you live . Both paths end in the same place , that is , you start off weaker , and get better . The parameters may change , but the dynamic is the same .

    My two cents about endgame and NPC's

    The problem isn't a lack of end game , it's just that the early / mid game , is far too easy . Finding food and drink is far , far , far too easy of a task and should be far , far , far harder . Finding weapons and cars and making bases , is also way too easy . Zombies , do not pose much of a threat right now , and are also way too easy . Unfortunately , as is evident by all the private hives allowing all the "easy" modes in the game so people have more "fun" , making the game more "popular" , clearly indicates that the problem of an end game is not the mods fault , it's the people who play the game . To sum up , make EVERYTHING in the game harder , and you will not require an end game past the struggle for survival . But this is not what most people want .

    These are not walking dead spastic zombies that only complete idiots die to . ( the walking dead is seriously beginning to disappoint ) These are super raged up hyper active infected that seem to want to rip your head off and shit down your neck . Unless you were somehow able to deal instantly lethal blows with every hit , they would do some damage in their death throes .

    Bandits should have more consequences

    It's not that players have no morals , it's just that people know it's a "game" and make decisions and take actions accordingly . That is why I think it needs to be a "game" mechanic to provide the incentive not to just arbitrarily shoot any player that moves . I don't think it's a sensible argument that "I should be able to do what I want , when I want , how I want , and there should be no consequences" , there are not that many psychopaths out there . I remember some one saying on sidechat ( uggh ) one time , to a newer player , to just start shooting people because it's more fun . It shouldn't be "fun" to just kill people at , it may be a necessity , at times , but it shouldn't come without consequence , because we know it is just a game . Long story short , it needs to be the game that dispenses consequences , because it IS just a game .

    As the mod is now , resources are plentiful and zombies are a minor inconvenience , but if that dynamic was to change , so that resources were scarce , and zombies were a terrible threat , then your incentive to kill zombies would be just to stay geared and healthy .

    The zombies seem to be extremely weak now . I thought they were pretty good when they were zerging you at the drop of a pin , now they are pretty much laughable .

    It's plain and simple , drugs are fun . There is a difference between use and abuse , and this goes for all lifestyle choices , including alcohol , sex , even spending money . It's just difficult for many to tread that line and keep things balanced .

    So long as that only applies if you're wearing the ghillie alone , no shiny objects like weapons or backpacks , or things that clunk , clang and jingle .

    That's a cop out , and an argument for putting anything and everything in the game . Personally , I don't give a rat's tossbag about noobs or people learning the game . If they can't handle the learning curve , go elsewhere , it's not that tough to work out .

    If it can be done in a realistic way , based on encumbrance and stamina , then I would be all for it . If you are carrying nothing , you could do several decent jumps before being out of breath . If you are carrying a full pack and weapons , forget about jumping in any meaningful way .

    the dedicated troll/griefer player, who will proceed to get himself any and every weapon available and then proceed to blow the heads off any player that moves all over highly-populated areas in order to deliberately murder and kill as many others as possible. Because mindless horrific violence is so much more acceptable than bodily functions . I think if it is relevant to your survival in extreme conditions , then it should be a consideration as part of this game , which is all about survival of extreme conditions .

    I would like dayz to be tough , to the point where it's even possible to die from starvation or dehydration , no matter how much time you spend scavenging for food and water . Sometimes , you should just get unlucky and die like a fucking wretch . Hunting should be quite impossible with out some skill and an appropriate weapon ( no axing pigs or cows in the face ) . Military weapons should be an absolute luxury , only to be used in times of need , melee weapons will be king for taking out infected . Flouncing around in ghillie suits with high powered anti material rifles ? Probably not . You're surviving an apocalypse here , not playing wargames . Get rid of third person , it's horrible for astoundingly obvious reasons , in my completely humble opinion , turn off head bob, blah blah . Absolutely no side chat for fun times and name calling , and letting people know how fat their mum is and what they did to her last night . This isn't happy fun times , I want you to die horribly and alone , as you probably should. Can't find a weapon to beat off the masses of infected crawling around the shop ? Fuck you , throw tin cans at them or use "tactics" , or die in the bitter cold and driving rain with nothing in your belly . Spawning with makarovs , maps and compasses ? Hell no , spawn with ravenous hunger , thirst and freezing half to death . You have 20 minutes to find shelter or warmth , or you're a goner . 40+ helicopters ? Shit no , there might be one around ..... might . Crosshairs ? Not around here , you may just have to actually point that thing for desired results . There's my hopes and dreams for a game that actually just wants to kill you horridly and leave you to rot , and inevitably will .

    I think you'll find that the axe is your friend , even more so now than in previous mod versions , as shooting your gun in areas you want to loot , will make it impossible . Although now you can more easily drag a larger percentage of the zeds to another area , then lose them and go back and loot the areas you want . It's not that much harder to loot , just different . On the other hand , it's much more interesting trying to get those three tires on the sedan you just found sitting in the main street of Vybor . I have to admit , at times , I have seen an alarmingly large number of zeds , but it's nothing that can't be dealt with one way or another . I think people will just have to accept that the most useful weapon for looting and scavenging , will be the melee weapons .

    The problem is , you're hanging around the coast too much . It's quite easy to not be a bandit , you just have to play ...... intelligently . The problem is , people want ACTION ALL THE TIME , and you fell FORCED INTO BEING A BANDIT , but it's the situation you choose , so learn to deal with it .

    Like I have stated in many quite a few other discussions , having a scoreboard alters peoples play styles , they play for the stats . Now there is no "ZOMBIE LEEDER BOARD" , people only kill zombies so they can do the things they need to do , not just kill them to get "points" . That's how it should be ( in my humble opinion ) .

    Bonus for long term Survivors Suggestion

    It shouldn't necessarily be about "bonuses" for long term survivors , but "changes" for long term survivors , and not all the changes may be favorable . Magically gaining back pack slots , or more health , simply make no sense at all , where as gaining stamina , due to long periods of running , would make sense ( though relatively redundant with the mod since there is not really a stamina problem ) .

    No one runs around killing zombies like spastic randoms anymore , because there is no need to , as there is no scoreboard , they only kill zombies out of necessity . The only number I care about , is how many times you combat logged or exploited to keep your character alive to reach 100+ days lived , and 30+ murders . But then not really much about that either .

    I think there is a serious possibilty if you looked around , some weapon freak would have a sword or three stashed away . Definitely not common , but probably more likely than as50s and ghillie suits surviving chopper crashes perfectly intact ( which somehow the infected survived also ..... )

    As far as it's been established so far , the only reason you are a survivor is because you are immune to the virus , therefore logic would tell us , you can not become an infected . Logically if you are immune , you can not become an infected . It is illogical that you can succumb to , or be affected by a virus to which you are immune .
