I mean , you will only have spare time for base building if the loot is not balanced very well , unlike at the moment where on the average vanilla server you have a back pack full of cans in about 5 minutes . In my opinion you should be spending most of your time just staying healthy , and out of trouble , and if the game is balanced right , this will take a majority of your time . You're not going to give two shits about a base , if you have no food or water . -

Personally , I think if people have enough time to be base building , the game probably isn't balanced correctly . -

It's not the developers taking the mod in the wrong direction , it's the private hives with sidechat and their ridiculous settings . Guns and food are still far too plentiful , in my opinion . I was also thinking that only 2 or 3 of the gas tanks should have gas in them , randomly after each reset . This would make gas an uncertain commodity , and create some interesting situations .

They already have the stuff to save you from near death in the mod now . Bandages , for if you're bleeding out . Epi-Pens , for if you're unconscious . Morphine , for broken bones ( what !? ) Bloodbags , for repairing those gaping holes in no time . If you're dead , you're dead , that is all . You don't get saved "after" you are dead , you get saved BEFORE you die .

I agree they are a little too fast , but I guess this will be something ( amongst other things ) that is compromised for the sake of game play . -
I would rather they implemented more lootable skins for players , with all sorts of different uniforms etc , so at least people can have a chance at getting some sort of identifiable gear . Zeds I couldn't care less about at this stage .

I agree , more sandbags , or substitutes required . I have played ALOT of DayZ , and I have never had an etool and 2 sandbags . If there were shovels / spades available in farms and sheds , and old hessian / fertilizer bags around as a substitute for sandbags , that would help alot so people could actually have a chance at digging a loot hole in the ground . -
They need to be ale to run as fast , accelerate as fast , or even be able to sprint , just as players do . It would be nice if they could jump fences , but perhaps that's beyond their ability .

You only have to look at the average private hive to see where "player choice" leads .

I would just like to add , I think deer stands spawn weapons far too often just now , with m24s and m14s being quite common . You shouldn't be having fun , you should be crying for your mum curled up in the fetal position in a cold dark corner .

You can cook food by using the drum fires in towns and military camps , and the fires at survivor camps . All you really need is a hunting knife , and something to dong those animals on the head with ( or run them over with jeeps , that tenderizes them nicely ) Still , I think canned food should be far rarer ( never a loot drop from zeds ) , but much more effective , at least on par with rabbit meat .

It's harsh if being knocked out by zeds is a death sentence , but once you're down and having chunks of flesh torn off , you really are in the dookie . Perhaps intact clothing could protect you for a few moments , so you can have 10 - 20 seconds of less than full damage , but once they are tasting that sweet flesh , you're boned .

KoS will remain the same until there is a REALLY good reason not to , and even then ... Equipment and loot scarcity has nothing to do with it , it has to be something else that people simply can not achieve without help .

It might be a tough learning curve , but that's what makes it interesting . The game should absolutely not cater to the new players , it should crush them , and that's how you will know the game is well balanced . When veterans can stay alive somewhat consistently , but newbs get smashed , that's the right place to be in my opinion . It's up to you if you want to learn the game or not . Of course , this is just the pve aspect . There is no way to know how threatening other players may be , until you encounter them , one way or the other . I do agree the bleeds from zombie hits are a little excessive ( I really do ) , I feel you are pretty unlikely to bleed to death from single bare handed blow . Being torn open while you are unconscious is more likely to cause heavy bleeding .

After playing this patch for a bit , I am convinced the amount of bleeding caused by zeds is way over the top . Blunt force trauma from their this wouldn't cause fatal bleeding , maybe a small bleed , but you're not going to bleed to death from one or two hits , which right now , is quite likely if you have no bandages . Most likely you would get nasty bleeds from them feeding on you , when you're on the ground . TLDR way too much bleed damage , from zed hits .

I don't know about poisoning , but meat should spoil pretty quickly ( maybe a few hours tops ) , making it impossible to stock pile cooked meats . This would make people hunt more on the fly , and give much greater value to canned and packet goods .

The zeds need to be a threat , what ever it takes , they need to be threatening . They should at the very least , be able to do what the players do .

Well , at the moment there are next to no servers with out sidechat , so who is the one getting screwed over ?

That's missing the point of the desolate , isolated experience that is at the core of dayz . When voice is disabled , I am expected to type to some in sidechat during an "oh shit" moment ? That's ridiculous . I guess this is my plea to the mod developers to put this ship back on course , and yes , force people into a play style which is what the mod is about . Isolation , in an apocalyptic setting . Of course this is my opinion , what is yours Masterfocker ?

It's not fun , it's detrimental to the core experience , and that's the whole point . Might as well get used to not having it , come SA it will be gone for the good of the game , so may as well start sooner than later .

Sidechat is enabled , and voice is turned off , terrible fail guys , you were one of the last bastions for a decent dayz game experience . Very disappoint . -
You don't really need a suicide timer , just if death occurs from suicide or zombies , within 10 minutes , you respawn at the same place , with no equipment . Or , you can just have both .
