so then i tried to flee the bloodsucker and find out a bit about it. eg : can it be killed?climb ladders?does it use twitter?etc...

my first run in with the bloodsucker in namalsk :

totally right.my p.c. is also fairly new too (had it about 6 months now). after a few more play sessions i find it totally intuitive , even on the default setting.i will jump in and set up a custom load out when i figure out how to. i love that i bought it , but the track clip pro should come in wireless IMO. i would recommend it if it is not a major purchase or crazy money for people.i got it from a local dealer here in norway and i found it to be fairly affordable , but it is aimed at people who know their way around a computer , and i do not fit into that criteria - yet.

give the boot camp in arma 2 a go first and you'll feel a lot more confident with navigating the world.after that , the rest is what you make of it.it is a true roll playing game , as in you can play the way you want to but remember , other people will pay differently and just like in the real world you might not see eye to eye with every one. where are you located?maybe a fellow countryman could suggest a local private hive. this is our private hive (chernarus map) : 77.40.215.196 2320 you can search it in dayz commander under : OSL Private it is in norway , but i assume you are in a different time zone as you commented that it was "getting a little late" and it is 10.30 in norway atm. there are lots of helpful people in the forums so don't hesitate to ask for help , or search for a helpful thread. enjoy!

its getting used to the arma 2 control setup that can be a bit daunting , but it is well worth it. dayz is awesome!i've not played the war z , but i've seen reviews from people who play both , and dayz comes out a winner every time. if you get it through steam , i believe arma 2 CO is on sale now , so grab it and give it a try.since your in the forums , look for people to play with and introduce you to the game to ease your transition.plus i highly recommend doing the arma 2 boot camp , just to get familiar with the unique control system. don't forget that you also get arma 2 , an incredible game in its own right. don't be stress about learning to much and remember its just a game. have fun and stay low! arma 2 is also a kick ass game and bohemia interactive are worth supporting. the value for what you pay is staggering (it is 1/2 price on steam now i think) , plus the dayz devs vowed to continue to support the mod even after standalone is released. enjoy.

its tough to call the distance when we only see a shot whilst looking through the scope. nice shot though , the blood trail was beautiful - yet i also thought that the as50 would one shot kill if in head/center mass.maybe i'm wrong. here is my team mate with the m107 : its totally legit!

like any multiplayer game you have many different people with many different ideas on what they are playing (you can occasionally meet people you have never seen before and team up with them , or be shot in the face whilst unarmed).this is the beauty of dayz.it is truly emergent gameplay and the experience you have is what you make of it. i am not a clan member , but i do play with people i know IRL that i have recruited to the game (one before i had a p.c. myself just based on gameplay vids). i strongly encourage you to play this game , as it is amazing.you may have to work a little bit to create the gameplay experience you crave , but your efforts will be rewarded - i promise. i have been playing video games for almost 30 years and this is what i used to imagine games could be like. trust me , i'm a doctor - Dr Octagon.

this was my first time experiencing the namalsk update EMP thing whilst sort of knowing what is going on.

1st time using the trackir 5.it'll take a bit of getting used to and tweaking(head movement can be adjusted better for aiming).it was a bit rough looking down the iron sights of the enfield

i had a weird problem on the fallujah server i play on ( neu new york - from somewhere in europe ) where i put on camo clothing and suffer an injury (once a broken leg and once something similar to a zombie strike). the items are legal on the server and i've found them in places where they spawn normally. maybe its the way the admin has set up the server.just another magical mystery of dayz.

standalone will launch (at an unspecified time) with one map.there is so much awesome content to experience as it is and the dev team has vowed support to both the standalone and the mod.bohemia interactive is worth giving your money to and there is a whole game that most dayz players are missing out on.here is a good example of what your missing :

i was enjoying the single player portion of O.A. when i lost the ability to access it around the last dayz update.the single player option in the main menu is "greyed" out and i no longer get the option to launch combined operations from steam.it also might have coincided with the O.A. beta on steam (i'm not sure what this is). any help would be appreciated , or direction to a thread that has dealt with this previously (i searched , but failed to find). cheers , Dr Octagon.

thanks a bunch!i've been watching arma 2 vids (atilla 16 , dyslecxi etc...) long before i owned a p.c. dayz is awesome , but there is a lot of content i bet a lot of dayz players will never know about.perhaps its not a bad idea to have an arma 2 thread on the forums so people who play both can share their enthusiasm and get people primed for arma 3. thank you for your helpful reply.

is there a way to easily switch back and forth between CO and dayz as i enjoy both (single player CO reminds me of socom navy seals from ps2)? i'm a bit of a techtard , so if its not simple i'll just deal with it. thanks for your time, the Dr

so what happens after it passes?i was stressed something was wrong as i lost control of my character.how long till it comes back?

i blacked out (sand timer image) and came to in the chopper just hovering - i had no control, over my character (no buttons would respond) and i thought my account was being hacked or something so i force logged out. then changed my pants.

paybacks a bitch... who would have thought he had friends?

anyone ever seen this before?it was just after i took off in a chopper.there was no warning of server restart , and it happened to me again just under an hour later on a different server (same map : namalsk). let me know if you know what this is.when it happened the second time , it was a crowded server and it affected all player and got a lot of reaction in global.

today in a namalsk server i found a fully functional chopper and asked on global if anybody had one.there were only two other people on the server so after a little chat in global i decided to take it (i was going to take it anyway) and then this weird event took place : i thought it was a hack or server restart (maybe forced restart) , but it happened to me about 40 minutes later (whilst on the ground) in another namalsk server.seemed odd.

i get fired upon by a guy with an assault weapon (in the same room as i am) and i only have an axe.i was a fresh spawn and he was a tool.

after finding out we can't steal it we decide to destroy it.

that was awesome.we've all been killed/maimed by the arma 2 mechanics before.good reflexes and response to taking fire.
