That's true, KoS is part of the game, like it or not. With other things to do and various mechanics making it a bad idea just to KoS everyone you see should tone it down a bit, hopefully - it will never go away though (and that's a good thing).
-
It is out of control, it was expected. As it stands, it's only the base game that currently exists, there is literally nothing else to do. It will quieten down a lot when more features are added and there is actually something to do.

How do I assemble a gun with all the parts?
rossums replied to gaznox's topic in New Player Discussion
You need to have the main weapon itself to begin with. All the 'parts' are just attachments that you can use on the actual gun itself to replace the default parts it comes with. Other than that it's as simple as dragging the new attachments on to the weapon in your inventory to replace them. -
Developers are aware of this issue and it's already marked up on the bugtracker.

Thanks for confirming. I was pretty sure it was the short-sleeved black t-shirt, other users are reporting similar problems.

I know because I am currently a tester, Rocket has also recently announced that some security enhancements were added with the latest patch. As for the zombie related issues, it's not just 'one feature'. What they are doing required rewriting zombies from the ground up and redrawing and marking all boundaries on the map from the ground up. To fix the issue (and increase performance) zombies are going to be offloaded to their own thread for individual processing, only when this is done can they fix the current issues with zombies, this is no small task. Client performance has never been an aspect that has been focused on in development, it's an afterthought if anything, the primary goal was good SERVER performance and has been for a while, there are very few optimisation attempts for client-side frames.

Can you confirm which piece of clothing this is (and condition is possible). Cheers.

Developers are aware and it's already on the bug tracker. It's a problem some users are experiencing, the database was also wiped by the developers so EVERYONE has at least been reset with a new character since last night.

Say 2 years as much as you want, it's not going to make it true - this project has been going for around closer to a year. Just because something isn't on the public servers doesn't mean it doesn't exist, it also mean just because you can't see it doesn't mean work wasn't done. The security measures weren't activated for launch, they are there, but not being used - let me say it again IT'S AN ALPHA - it's not for you to play and enjoy, it's for testing - stability is the most important aspect for developers right now. As I've said, some fixes require rewriting large parts of the game engine and writing even more from scratch, some of it couldn't even be started until they have sorted other more important problems - I'll also say it again - IT'S AN ALPHA - this is what you are meant to be here for, breaking things and giving useful feedback, screaming like a little girl isn't helping anyone. As for the mod, it's nothing to do with Rocket and his team, it hasn't for a long, long time, if you're unhappy with the direction the mod is going you can take that up with the community developers that take time out of their own schedules to develop the mod.

Some things take a lot of time to fix, contrary to what people think it's not as simple as snapping your fingers and having it fixed. The developers are aware of issues, they've been aware of certain issues for weeks and months, certain issues require essentially rebuilding parts of the game from the ground up - this takes time. If you're unhappy at the moment without an end game (even though you were told IT'S AN ALPHA) you can go play something else in the mean time. You were fully aware of what you were getting in to, you were told NOT to buy it if you weren't okay with this. The only person to blame is YOU.

You did it. You created a duplicate report. I hope you feel ashamed.

If you make any duplicate reports I will literally hunt you down and execute you. Please search for existing reports before creating any new ones.

Needing a can opener to open a can is pathetic
rossums replied to dayzhopeful's topic in General Discussion
Someone just got here and already needs a time-out on the naughty step. It's a public forum, you throwing a temper tantrum isn't going to make anyone listen to you (not that they were listening to you before). Generally posts are meant to have a purpose here, if you want to act silly and try to make jokes there is an Off-Topic section towards the bottom of the forum. -

You're raging again. Just breathe. In. Out. There we go, that's better :) If it's meant to be a joke you forgot the punchline, it's generally considered quite an important part of a joke, y'know, the part that makes it funny. -

Wait, there were can openers? -

Before you rage on the forum look at proposed features for the next patch. Wait, what's that? They are adding functionality to open cans with other sharp implements. Oh goody. -
Patch #2 Incomming - What do you want to see?
rossums replied to knawx's topic in General Discussion
A database wipe. -
It makes it more difficult for EVERYONE to survive. All it means is people can't abuse mechanics and just blood bag each other constantly if they don't have a compatible blood type, you'll suffer just like those playing alone.

Negative Mouse Acceleration. Still one of the bigger issues.
rossums replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
It is part of the same issue for the tracker. -
Were you dropped on your head as a child? Don't post screenshots of hacks (DURR) No one is hacking (There are SCRIPTS being used, which won't be a problem at all) You aren't talking about any problems you are whining like a little baby. If you had any common sense you'd know it was a stupid idea showing people 'Oh, you can do this to cheat'

The problem is already being reviewed by developers. Monitor the issue on the bugtracker if you want to keep updated: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=76 -
Portable gas stove is for cooking with, you also need to add the food to the cooking pot and use it on the stove.
-
It's a bug, developers are already aware.
-
Functionality is not yet added though it will be added in the future. Thanks.
