No "Suggestions" forum for SA; are we supposed to post these on the bug tracking site?
rossums replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in General Discussion
I asked Matt Lightfoot (DayZ Staff) to add one and he said he would add it when he has some free time. As you can imagine the staff have a LOT of important work to do at the moment so they can't just drop what they are doing to attend to a minor forum issue. -
Creation of a "Feedback/Suggestion" Forum for DayZ Standalone
rossums replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
Guys. I told Matt to add one. It's K. __ As far as that goes, the team DOES have a rough idea of where they are going and what order they are doing it in, it's not a democracy. They will still ask for feedback on a lot of features though. -
It's currently a bug that the developers are aware of. I have exactly the same problem. Can I ask what sort of computer you are using?

I'm of the Opinion that KoS will be shorted sight and wasteful....
rossums replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
It will be short-sighted and a silly decision a lot of the time, only then will you realise that a lot of players don't make the most logical decisions. -

Please no. :( Keep the feedback tracker for bugs if possible - there will be a Suggestions forum added shortly. -
I didn't say they didn't? The M4 still has more slot-in attachments, most AK attachments require adding additional picatinny rails over the handguard. The M4 is a lot more simple for just dropping extra attachments straight on rather than having to worry about multiple variants of a single weapon. What's easier, adding the M4 or worrying about AK47, AK74, AKM - all which have some fundamental differences compared to the single M4.

Will this game ever have a normal FPS camera?
rossums replied to Frell's topic in General Discussion
You're not meant to complain, you're meant to post constructive feedback/criticism. Devs have already said there will be work done on First-Person view. -
There are so many M4s because there are next to no other weapons on the loot table. That is the entire reason for them being so common. And why M4 you ask? It's because it's the main weapon they decided to base all the other weapons upon because it is the most flexible in terms of having multiple possible attachments.

Creation of a "Feedback/Suggestion" Forum for DayZ Standalone
rossums replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
WANT SUGGESTIONS SECTION. Keep them off the feedback tracker, they just sit there.. mocking me.. being useless. -
As I've said, people getting loot and shooting each other are not important compared to other problems. The features are already implemented but the most important issues are those regarding stability and some of the more significant problems involving zombies and people falling unconsciousness forever. Loot and PvP is an afterthought at the moment - the developers are aware the stats are off, they aren't going to bother balancing them perfectly at this point in time, it's pointless.
-
I can assure you that zombies clipping is currently one of the (if not the) biggest issue with the game at this moment. I am not trying to defend anything, I haven't stepped foot in DayZ since the closed pre-alpha testing - since the game officially launched I have spent all of my extra time sorting through bug reports so the developers know what issues are important and what issues need addressed. Since the zombies are, in your own words, a 'side feature/annoyance' you really shouldn't need military loot to handle them, a hatchet is more than enough - it will also allow you to practice your sneaking around :) As I have already said, combat-logging and ghosting is a problem but far from the most important issue for developers to address right now.
-
It's been reported numerous times. It's currently being tracked and developers are aware.
-
Do not try to justify abusing a broken mechanic under the guide of 'testing'. You are taking advantage of the current game issues for your own advantage to the detriment of other players, nothing more, nothing less.
-
It happens when the sun goes away.
-
You don't see how problems with one of the main entities of the game (zombies) walking through objects is more important than a minor gameplay issue? Yes it's broken. Nobody is disputing that. It seems to me like you're trying to treat it as a game but aren't happy that people are abusing an unfinished mechanic to kill you. Looting up and player shooting each other is not as important at the moment compared to some other widespread debilitating issues.

Does changing servers cause your character to reset?
rossums replied to Flurf's topic in New Player Discussion
As far as I'm aware developers have not narrowed down the problem, it seems to happen under many different conditions unfortunately. -

It's a known bug affecting some players. -
I didn't say it shouldn't be fixed, it's just not important. Trying to compare it to some of the other actually important issues is just silly. Just because you've tested and given your feedback doesn't mean you're right.
-
This thread is clearly constructive.
-
If you have a bug, check the feedback tracker to see if it exists. Don't post another report, CHECK THE EXISTING REPORTS. The game has been out for a couple of days and I've deleted over 400 duplicate reports (and not even scratched the surface), some of those reports from players whining about bugs on the forums. If you want to contribute, follow the very simple guides either on here or on the bug tracker at http://feedback.dayzgame.com
-
It should be at the bottom of the priority list, where it belongs - it's not important in the slightest. It's an alpha, you having fun is not a priority, you're not a player, you're a tester - bugs involving stability and crashes are important, combat logging is not.
-
There are much more important things to worry about compared to loot cycling. Many major bugs including teleportation, zombies clipping through everything, players clipping through buildings, some players totally unable to play, players becoming invulnerable, invisible zombies etc. etc. Stability and real functionality-breaking bugs are much more important than making sure nobody loot cycles.

When Dayz Standalone gets an Update does the mod get one too?
rossums replied to Fuziion's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That is correct. The DayZ Standalone game and the DayZ Mod are two completely different projects by two completely different teams. -
It's not an attitude, it's reality. At the moment gearing up takes no time at all and there is nothing to do after this point - no vehicles to get, no parts to get for vehicles, no bases to build, nothing permanent. It's perfectly understandable that people are just shooting each other when there is a chance none of your gear will be there when you log in the next day, to say otherwise is just wishful thinking.

It's cool, it's all tracked up :D
