Weapons can be found in many different places. Civilian weapons such as the Makarov pistol as well as various Shotguns and small Rifles can be found in residential areas. Military loot such as a Sniper Rifle or an Assault Rifle can only be found in military areas such as airfields or military camps such as the medical camp in Balota. Various items can be found in the bigger cities if you look in the supermarket (Bags, civilial weapons) and the hospital (Medical supplies).

Proof that Standalone will be delayed till 2013?

It will definitely be 2013. They will have to finalise everything for the 'launch' as well as get testing done to make sure it's not a total mess like The War Z - I'd estimate a January release. -

Honestly? Don't use SixLauncher it is a major pain in the ass. Download DayZ Commander and it can all be done for you at the click of a button. Link http://www.dayzcommander.com/ EDIT: Should probably explain; using SixLauncher you have to install everything manually by adding them to the write folder just like you would do with the @DayZ folder. -
Aggressive animals, dead zombie players, some kind of "dungeons" to raid?

No. This is a sandbox, not a game where you do 'raids' - I have to disagree with that one, the aggressive animals has been discussed and I'd like to see it implemented in the future. As for your question: 1) Rocket has discussed implementing a 'zombie life cycle' type of system where the newer, younger zombies are a lot faster and aggressive compared to the slower, older zombies - this will definitely mix things up a bit. 2) The DayZ team has discussed thoroughly the implementation of a 'disease' system which will be added to the standalone, hopefully from first release - this will contain many diseases such as cholera and others that will be affected by the environment and will require you to keep hydrated and fed or you have chances of death. He hasn't really discussed many specifics because he doesn't want any of it to be stolen. The diseases will be spread via zombies, infected water, infected players, when an infected player dies their gear will remain infected, etc. -

All brilliant ideas that have been discussed before, I'd like to see them all implemented depending on how the game advances. The only problem I'd see is the humanity related one, it was discussed previously that Rocket and the DayZ team trying to avoid adding elements to the HUD and were planning on using more 'in-game' indicators for things they are adding such as disease. Rather than have any visual (HUD) indicator they would cough, lose focus, bleed etc. On 'easy' type servers that have the hover type nametags it would work perfectly - there may have to be another implementation for the 'veteran' level players to check though - perhaps an examine option when you are close, similar to the death examination. -

You just have to try and quickly gauge them using the VoIP chat. Also, if they sound like they haven't hit puberty, just shoot them, they are always the ones who try shoot you first. Always. I tend not to trust anyone straight away, even if they help me; it's good to be a little paranoid ;D

You are expecting something that is literally impossible with the engine. The animations from zombies and axe, etc are so retardedly broken because they have to use animations already in Arma II - an engine clearly not made for a zombie game. Everything, literally EVERYTHING you complain about is a limitation of the engine or you just being stupid. Every point is down to it being a mod, a buggy mod at that (in Alpha) with a very limiting engine, but the last one, complaining about a map? If you want a map, go find a map. It's not meant to be easy. You're not meant to be handed a map and encouraged to go find your friends. So I'm going to break your 'inB4' and just say it: you don't know what the hell you are talking about. You should wait for the standalone DayZ - none of these problems will be fixed or can be fixed without significant development work which will just not happen with the standalone incoming. -
Can someone tell me if I can run it?

Your graphics card isn't too good - I wouldn't bother wasting money to get an SLI setup for it. It won't run, or if it was to run it would be unplayable. Even though the chipset is a bit outdated it will still run perfectly well - the graphics card is pretty close to useless though, I'm afraid. -
I think mods will be VERY hard, if not impossible, for third-party members to implement. Since it's a client-server type model and we require a connection with the main DayZ server it really can't happen without any support from Rocket and the team and I can guarantee that won't be their straight off the bat, if ever.

I'm fine with DayZ - there are plenty of servers that are perfectly good to play. I am just trying to find out why people want to play on servers where you can't move anywhere without finding vehicles and starting with loads of high-end guns. I really don't see the point as there are many other sandbox games where you can drive cars around - just wondering why people ply DayZ but take away one of the main game aspects.

There were loads of websites down just there - quite a few I couldn't get on. The problem with the speed of the forums seems to have been resolved though. -
Yeah, they used to have the ACUs but people were just killing everyone to get the camo gear rather than hunting down a ghillie suit. That's why they toned it down to the headscarf only, don't want to encourage players to kill for a skin.

High population server. Low population servers are much easier to get a footing on and get geared up, but the competition on higher population servers is much more fun.

This is definitely one of the most ridiculous things I've read on the forum. For a start, it doesn't fit in anywhere whatsoever with the overall style of DayZ. Secondly, why the hell would you want a 'wingsuit'? It adds nothing into the game that a parachute already doesn't and the parachute isn't so stupid.
