How does disagreeing with a ridiculous idea make me a 'hater'? Players should have no advantage whatsoever over other players purely because they bought the game earlier or paid more than others - it's unfair and it's not what DayZ is about. The whole point is that you are thrust into a world with nothing and have to fight your way up against insurmountable odds versus players, zombies and the environment. Even the pistol completely ruins the early game, once you have a pistol the game is no challenge at all - this is against the spirit of the game, you're not meant to spawn already kitted out. Any item that could possibly give any advantage as far as looks and camouflage wouldn't work. If it had camouflage, it would be unfair. If it was just a random piece that only special orders got, how would it work in the inventory? Would it take up space? Could other players loot it?

Any in game advantage is a totally retarded idea and the complete opposite of what DayZ is about. You should have no advantages compared to other players whatsoever, cosmetic or otherwise - especially not a weapon.

Matt Lightfoot, Bohemia Interactive Production Assistant working on DayZ said that it should be around the same as the DayZ mod. The game itself runs better but rather than leave it running a bit better they took the opportunity to add lots more features into the game.

You can look for a private hive server to join, significantly less hackers. I play on he UK Balota Buddies server and for the few weeks I've been there I have encountered a single hacker who spawned gear and was banned within minutes and the offending gear removed. If you find a good server with fair, active admins it makes it a lot, lot better.

I would have kept the FAL, Bizon really isn't too great for anything other than killing zombies. FAL has a nice range, nice damage and good sights. Off to a good start though.

Well the DayZ Standalone is putting a lot more focus into making the zombies a proper threat rather than a minor annoyance. The addition of the disease system, multiple types of bone fractures and breaks means that there will be a much higher chance of having the world as a major enemy compared to the players being the only enemy like it is now. There will obviously still have to be shooting but there is more emphasis being put on earlier melee weapons and group-oriented advantages for crafting, etc.

To me DayZ is a zombie survival shooter. The survival element as well as the zombie element and obviously the shooting is all very important. I see loads and loads of servers completely ruining the 'survival' aspect of DayZ with servers containing loadouts, 100+ vehicles, 5+ choppers and loads of other additions that to me are extremely gamebreaking and just not what DayZ should be about. I like DayZ at its base level, without all the modifications that loads of people seem to add to their servers that cheapen the game for me. What do you find important - what is DayZ to you?

Come on Rocket, you just can't keep posting stuff like that, it's just cruel. Do you have a date when the game testing will commence or is it more based on targets/goals rather than a schedule?

There will still be risk for looting, it means you'll only have a short time frame to kill them rather than having ages to line up on a stationary target which is far too long to begin with.

Hey bud I remember talking to you a wee while back, You should come join us on the UK Balota Buddies server, nice private server with more than a handful of other active Scottish folk on it at the moment.

Search for 'Balota Buddies' on the forums. All the servers (UK, US and AU normally always have at least 10+ players on them at normal times) with the AU one the most populated. Private Hive, good admins and any hackers are immediately dealt with (If they someone make it through the whitelisting). http://balotabuddies.net/ I play on Balota Buddies UK46.

That's totally pointless. The people that actually want to play the game will have it ruined by the morons who just want a deathmatch and ask you to kit them all out in high-end equipment from the start. If the guy playing it correctly uses a Lee Enfield and manages to kill Mr. AS50 it won't matter, the dude with the AS50 will just come back immediately with all his gear straight away - the only ones negatively affected are those actually playing DayZ.

They will get pretty much exactly the same performance but the 560ti will run cooler, quieter and brings DX11 to the table. If you want to buy another card try and get another 560Ti for SLI rather than buying 2 new cards.

Honestly, the GTX260 is an outdated card and you won't find out a lot about it. You'd be a lot better buying a newer, more powerful single card.

Why should you be handed high-end weapons and gear when there are players that would have been spending days looking for it themselves? It is morons like you that encourage players to continue hacking because they are 'cool' and 'friendly'

If he is right, it IS a private hive, he can do what he wants. Just find another server with an admin that isn't an ass.

If you die, the tent will stay there for a few days but you no longer 'own' the tent, you can still loot it but it will eventually despawn and you can't take it because your old character was the owner. EDIT: To add a bit, it's 7 server days that the tent will remain for after the last interaction takes place. So say you looted everything from it and ran off, it would last 7 days before de-spawning if nobody else interacted with it, every interaction resets the timer to 7 days though.

What do you want to happen? 'Oh, you've been banned? That's naughty! Don't do it again!' People who try and circumnavigate bans and anti-hacks will always be there, no point in making it easier for them just because it will inevitably happen. The Anti-hack will definitely have to be heavily changed and redone for use with the standalone, especially with the inclusion of VAC. The reporting thing will be abused and there is just no time to go through the days worth of 'hack reports' they will get each day, especially if they are in large video clips, it will take an unneeded amount of time.

Tough shit. You hacked, you were banned. Deal with it.
