Ahh right, I haven't really looked much at the Arma II engine but I'd assume there would be a way of reducing the intensity of the light or at least reduce the 'size' of the actual light source or something to that effect. Probably something I'll have a look at if I get some spare time. -
Definitely a hacker. Multiple headshots in quick succession as well as multiple body shots, he should have been dead, DMR does 8K blood damage.

The effectiveness of the flashlights should be reduced, that along with batteries as a requirement would mean that they wouldn't be effecting for prolonged periods of time and other light sources should be found. (Flares, barrel braziers, etc.) -

The question that was posed wasn't 'Is the standalone here to make money?' The question he was trying to pose is 'Are they holding back the standalone to make more money from Arma II?'. The answer is no, they are trying to develop a better game rather than release some half-assed pile of shit like The WarZ which anyone that isn't completely retarded would know is much more preferential tot hem releasing an incomplete game. -

Vanilla DayZ with a few minor changes. Reduced spawn on AS50/M107. A supermarket / 2 small military tents in Kamenka to better balance out spawn areas. Veteran difficulty Crosshair OFF 3rd Person OFF Nameplates OFF Sweet and simple, a vanilla build with a few balance changes. -

Make sure you get your sound levels correct (Dialog was very quiet towards the end) Make sure the actual in-game sounds are on, it loses a lot of quality because the viewer can't hear for themselves what is happening (Gunshots, helicopter, etc.) Edit: Watched video number 2, it was much better than the third one - will definitely watch more in the future.

There is a limit as to how they can/would limit it. I think there should be a forced model render for things like trees and brush so they are ALWAYS rendered no matter what difficulty/graphics level you are on (Obviously quality will differ). At the moment it is significantly easier to play on Low graphics. People can't hide behind big trees (Trees look tiny to you), people can't hide in grass (There is next to no grass to hide in). As long as the Graphical level only affects the texture quality it won't be much of a problem at all. They shouldn't have to cater for the lowest common denominator who insists on trying to play it with a 5 year old machine and refuses to upgrade. Technology changes, I just hope they don't dumb it down too majorly for those with crappy systems. -

This is possibly the most stupid thing I've heard. If they are in-game, they are playing it's as easy as that. I don't give a fuck if they pay for it, I don't care if they are at a disadvantage, as far as I'm concerned they are no different from a normal player other than the fact they are to keep order. Being an admin does NOT give you a free pass to cheat. -

Hey there, you need to use the editor to make the cinematics, you can do pretty much everything you said. The guy that does my favourite cinematics is a member of this forum, Karwin Leutscher (Username: kleutscher) and he made a few videos showing you how to get set up with the editor. Just another terrible 'Everything gets handed to you, spoonfed' type of server. Nothing to see here. -
That's the thing though, you don't HAVE to go to the larger cities for the items you mentioned. The reason people go to the cities is that it's centralized in one location normally (hospital) and you can stock up on a lot at once, as a downside it's a more high-priority and high-traffic area which makes it a lot more dangerous. Bandages and Painkillers can be found anywhere and the more 'high-end' medical loot (Blood Bags and Antibiotics) can be found in any medical areas. The whole point in these ailments (Antibiotics and other diseases in Standalone) are to force you to get treated, which WILL be dangerous but will save you in the long run. The other supplies you mentioned (Knives, Matches etc.) are all easy to get, you can easily get them in the higher priority areas (Chernogorsk, Elektrozavodsk) but also in smaller towns like Vybor, Pustoshka and Polana, all of which have Supermarkers and are a lot more.. secluded.

If you are part of the public hive you have to follow a strict set of rules. At this point in time the restrictions were made at the inception of DayZ and leave a lot of things out that have been developed since then such as various bug fixes, anti-hack and whitelisting, all which make server safer from hackers. Without being able to effectively police the server it makes it pointless.
