  1. On it like a car bonnet. Choosing your spawn is a pish idea. It just gives players an advantage which they should not be given, you should wake up in the arse end of nowhere and have to find your bearings - not choose where your dumb ass wakes up.

    MEGA MOD

That's the problem with Epoch. New players join it and think that's what DayZ is - the vast majority of servers don't even play real Epoch, they take Epoch and add in safe-zones which totally defeats the purpose in the trading zones (They were meant to be areas that you had to risk your self to gain the ability to buy/trade/sell gear). DayZ was never meant to be easy and appeal to the masses and that's what made it great - no hand holding, no instant gratification and no tutorial to ease you in to the game. Players that join now never get to experience what DayZ actually is, they just treat it like another run-of-the-mill sandbox game like Minecraft and take all of the challenge from the game. A worryingly large percentage of the community could just leave and play Arma II and would notice next to no difference other than the lack of having to run indoors or into a tree every now and then to avoid zombies.

    MEGA MOD

I don't understand the insistence of some players in trying to turn DayZ into something that it's not. There is a point where it's not forcing someone to play the way I want them to play but instead play the same freakin' game that I am playing if they want to call it 'DayZ'. Safe zones, bank heists, gold + silver, CCTV cameras.. none of this crap has a place in DayZ - it's meant to be a survival sim, not GTA or Saints Row.

    Bandits loosing style?

I think it will be better. A lot of players just stopped playing - there really isn't much to do - I've not played in months. When the standalone comes I'm sure we'll see a large resurgence of players returning to the game, hopefully it will bring back a lot of the spirit of the same and be brutal enough to deter all the idiots and CoD kiddies from playing but I wouldn't hold my breath.

    Bandits loosing style?

Most proper bandits stopped playing a long time ago - a lot of players did. The game is full of trolls and KoS kiddies that seem to think they are good when they kill unarmed people that can't fight back. Some of the best encounters in-game have been with a decent group of bandits that can communicate well together and hopefully we'll see some more of these types of players and encounters when the Standalone hits. Nothing more nerve-wracking than coming up against a good group of bandits when you aren't expecting it and you are pretty much forced to fight back or die.

    Standalone only for USA?

    No chance in hell.
  8. It literally does. The only reason it's so rampant at the moment is that the Arma II engine was never made to prevent hackers - actually the opposite. It's a VERY forgiving engine that lets you run pretty much anything, the only reason DayZ has stopped so many hackers is due to all the third-party work from modders. Users don't have the ability to run scripts at all on the standalone, it's a completely different architecture that doesn't just allow users to interact with the server and get what they want, the server handles a lot of the data itself rather than trusting the client itself. Obviously you can't 100% stop hackers but it will be nowhere as bad as DayZ Mod.

Putting an End to "Can I run it?"

Websites like that are pretty crap. They check it against the Minimum/Recommended Specs which rarely reflects real life playability. The one over at www.systemrequirementslab.com is totally useless too.

    Gender Inequality?

Haha, as much as it would put a bit of thought into which gender to choose, even in a joking manner you'd have the feminazis shouting from the rooftops about how DayZ is literally worse than Hitler. It would be pretty hilarious though, if just for the media fallout that would occur.

    Gender Inequality?

The fact is that the genders are not equal. Males have a significant edge in endeavours that require strength and athletic performance, this is a widely accepted fact. There won't be anything done with this because it's still not politically correct to give a certain gender an advantage in any aspect compared to the other gender - their would definitely be some controversy on launch. Overall, both males and females excel in different areas but it's not really important enough to give one or the other an advantage in a video-game, it REALLY doesn't matter that much.

    My Proudest Bandit Moment

Pretty shitty attitude. One thing to kill someone you've just met but you kill someone that you played with for a while for some crappy loot? No skill whatsoever behind kill a friend.. dick move.
  15. A 620M is far from high-end. It's in fact one of the lowest-end 600-series cards that it's possible to buy.
  16. I've always supported in increase on the number of vehicles for exactly this reason (They would be a lot more widespread) but in bad condition. The only thing that I couldn't work out was a nice balance to where the fuel should be found - it should be accessible but rare so places like military spawns couldn't be the only place. I like the idea of siphoning fuel from multiple vehicles just to have enough to run your car from A to B but that obviously isn't a choice that would stand on it's own, there would have to be a steady source to obtain fuel. I'd like to see an emphasis on the scavenging aspect of DayZ, especially when it comes to vehicles - it should be rare to find lots of working parts sitting around and there should be a lot more emphasis on salvaging from other vehicles.

Is duping a ban worthy? [1.8]

Say the bank put the hole there while renovating and forgot to correct it. What a load of nonsense just trying to justify shitty behaviour. There are some minor exploits that have no bearing on a game but the clear abuse from duping is not one of them. Anything that destroys the balance of the game or its economy is and should be a bannable offence, you are not 'stealing' but you are completely devaluing whatever you duplicate. If it's clearly an unintended side-effect you should report it, it's pretty obvious that if you are doing something that shouldn't have an effect on an item and you suddenly have 2 for no reason it's not intended. World of Warcraft is the perfect example of what the rules should be concerning duping, if you accidentally duplicate something by mistake you can report it for it to get patched. If you abuse it you either lose the items/money that you duplicated or get banned.

    Majority of playerbase are kids?

Sir? SIR!? You have not been knighted! Your new name is: Captain Cockholster. __ Ahh, and people are making fun of them for being immature.

    How is Epoch pronounced?

At actually has multiple pronunciations depending on where you are from. It tends to be pronounced : ee-pok or eh-puk (Very similar to the word 'epic'). ee-pok is a more British pronunciation where as eh-puk is used in the US in a lot of places. Here is the two pronunciations.

    Majority of playerbase are kids?

That is really what it's all about. They are used to being constantly pandered to, they are used to the instant-gratification, they don't want to put effort in to getting gear. I've tried once or twice to play on one of the silly 500+ Vehicles, Start with M4 yadda yadda servers just to see what all the fuss was about. I asked some of the players (Pretty much all of them younger) WHY they played on a server like this, the answer was pretty much unanimous in that they thought having to go look for guns took too long and it was too hard without vehicles. They are used to being in control and the game trying to make it easier for them by giving them hints and such, a lot of them just don't really know HOW to take a game that constantly tries to fuck them over - they don't understand WHY you want to play a game that's hard. A lot of players play it for the challenge but unfortunately since it got really big on Steam there are also a lot of players that bought it because it was the 'big' game and are trying ever so hard to force DayZ to meet the silly expectations that they have for every other game rather than buying DayZ for that which made it popular in the first place - it's unforgiving. I'm 21 years-old, I'm not exactly old by any stretch of the imagination and I started playing games when I was pretty young, 8 or 9 maybe at most - I could tell you for a fact though that if I were to have grown up now, I'd be the exact same - they grow up learning that you can be a total dick, ruin the experience for other players and there are no repercussions - I wasn't exactly immature but I certainly shouldn't have been thrown into a chat with other players at that age. The only thing that can really change this is the Standalone - if it forces them to play DayZ rather than the poor excuse for a game they are playing they will be forced to change their few or forced to find another game. It's not that I'm trying to force people to play the way I like to play, it's that if they are playing the same game as me, they should be on equal grounds to me - not giving themselves an advantage at every opportunity - people WILL take the easy route if the ability is given to them.

    Majority of playerbase are kids?

I think one of the problems is that a majority of kids (Under 16) have never played a game like DayZ. Every game released in years (Bar a select few) have all pretty much been total faceroll games - Call of Duty, Battlefield, Gears of War, Halo, Minecraft - all very popular games and they are all decent games in their own right but they are VERY forgiving and require no real thought at all to complete. I couldn't imagine half of todays 'gamers' play a lot of older games which didn't hold your hand, didn't give you 'saves' every 2 seconds, didn't let you respawn with all your stuff straight away. One of my all time favourite games, Super Mario World, one of the first games I completed and one that I never get bored with, it's a simple game.. maybe one or two saves per level - when they re-released it for WiiU some people were SO confused that it didn't hold their hand and direct them through EVERYTHING. No tutorial, no arrows pointing to an objective, no hints - but a solid game that for a generation or two it was easy to pick up and blast through most of it even with no prior knowledge. That's what all these younger gamers are used to, they're used to being told where to go, what weapon to use, how to get there and get their hand held if they die to the point where various games give them boosts if they suck rather than punting them back to the Main Menu to try again like the failure they are. It's not their fault a lot of the time, it's what they've grown up with - terribly easy games that require no thought, everyone shit-talking each other because there are no real consequences online and just shooting each other - no intelligence required. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of players below 16 that I wouldn't have a problem with but it's very hard to deny that the current generation of gamers growing up have had a VERY different and overly-forgiving experience compared to every other generation up until this point.

    Majority of playerbase are kids?

If you want a better time, try vanilla or DayZero - if it's an easy server it's going to be full of kids (especially those with like a million vehicles, jets and different load-outs)
  24. I accidentally ran my friend over once when he was hiding in a bush waiting to be picked up. He died a little.

The Most Cruel Thing To Do To Someone...

The most cruel thing to do is make their day so much better THEN CRUSH THEIR HOPES AND DREAMS. Such as owning a chopper full of weapons and one Satchel Charge - attach the charge to the chopper and advertise that you will give some lucky player a free chopper and gear. Watch and listen as he jumps are out in excitement and thanks you profusely, over and over again - allow him to enter the chopper and start it up - just watch, stare, take it all in. As soon as he takes off to hover above, you blow the satchel charge and bathe in the tears that will flood both the server and chat.
